Ooooh...am not happy. OH just rang to cofess that it seems he accidentally threw out the leftover chicken from last night's roast. He went to find it to make chicken hotpot and it is nowhere to be found! He thinks he may have thrown it out with the bones last night.

Aaaaaaaah!!! There was enough for at least 2 portions in there, maybe 3!!! Then again with bird flu raising it's ugly head again, maybe it isn't a bad thing. But if we don't eat chicken and we are banned from red meat due to OH's high uric acid, and OH won't eat fish - it looks like we're going to turn vegetarian!

Unfortunately the kids still get through 40 quid a month just in milk though... (with a little help from me... <burp>) My biggest weakness is Coke. I drink heaps of the stuff.

Just to say, if you can drink generic coke drinks then Lidl do cola in big and small bottles, ridiculously cheap compared to standard coke. They also sell big bottles of Pepsi cheaper than most other places. I am a fan of their cloudy lemonade when I fancy a fizzy drink- 37p for 2l. Stays nice and fizzy, not the healthiest but if you are going to drink some fizzy it is great to get it cheaper!

 Congrats on the little one Mrs Irwin - hope all goes well.

Hugs to those that need it.

Just trying to work out when I last went shopping (Saturday sounds familar!) I did go into MrM's on Monday - but got a magazine for yesterday. Had to go to hosp yesterday and I can't drive for 2 days and I live 3 miles from the nearest shop so a few more NSD's for me!:rotfl: My mum bless when she dropped me home this morning was concerned I had nothing for my tea, I assured her I could feed an army with what's in my freezer!!!:o My friend who was over last week was amazed when I disappeared into my freezer and gave her at least 4 options for tea and that was just on a quick look :rotfl:

Off to Mr W on Friday with my mum as I have some money off vouchers and I love Mr W stuff!!!! Going to try and stock up on some storecupboard stuff (no idea where I'll put it as it is currently full:cool: ) washing powder etc, may even get my first lot of stardrops and soda crystals as I need a few household things!

mmm think tomorrow is baking day. I've picked more spinach from the garden and going to see if Hugh F-W has any good recipes tonight as its spinach and beetroot I think. (MrsMc thanks for the tip on the spinach bread - I'd sliced it up and put it in the freezer as it kept disappearing from the fridge :o )

    :T Congratulations MRS IRWIN :T
Well done on breastfeeding- I always said I would keep going until it was not working for us, my son is now 11.5 months and he still gets a morning and night feed! Works for us right now :) I had a section with son (elective after failed induction at +15!)----think I tried to do too much straight away so its sensible to take it as easy as you can. All the best with babe :j :j

    Hi Mrs.Irwin - congrats on the new arrival:j :j

Just updated my total, OMG:eek: 2/3 of my budget spent already but that's due to doing a big monthly shop at Asda and then remembering I had those Morrison's vouchers so went there on Monday, due to my bad maths I spent £40 instead of just £30 to get the £5 off!! Anyway, I have meal planned as both freezers and all cupboards bulging so should only need F&V.

Meals going ok so far this month:D . Had Roast Chicken on Sunday, HM Chicken Pie with the leftovers on Monday, HM Soup from the Carcass on Tuesday followed by HM Shepherds Pie, last night made those cheesy biscuits for the kids Lunchboxes, made some Muffins this morning and HM Bread and planning to do Corned Beef Hash tonight with some carrots and cabbage that was whoopsied in Asda to just 25p:D

Everything looking good in the garden thanks to all the rain, nicer day today for a change, just can't wait until I can start picking things, although Lettuces look like they may be ready next week.:T

Trying to catch up with all the posts so hugs etc to those that need them, just because I've not put your name in here doesn't mean you are forgotten, there just seems to be so many of us now which is great as we can all support one another.:T

    :jCONGRATULATIONS MRS IRWIN!:j

Well done for giving the breastfeeding a go - can be hard at the start. Like OrkneyStar my youngest is 11 months and still breast fed (saved us a small fortune I imagine!).

Don't rush after a caesarean - noones going to pop round your house and check your using reusables! Enjoy this special time!

BTW it was an NSD day yesterday for me. However, out this afternoon as the family are after a batch of those Nigella rocky roads!

I popped to MR T this afternoon after work for a couple of things that I had forgotten to get at the weekend.

    £11 later....

Got some 1/2 price bran flakes, cornflour, yoghurts that were on offer, some reduced ham and a few other things.

    Signature updated.

Oh before I forget Tesco are selling iceberg lettuces for 50p now, on offer.
Not sure how long its on offer for?

just popped on for 5 mins to catch up on the posts

    :T :T WELL DONE & HUGE CONGRATULATIONS MRS IRWIN :T :T

I can't believe you've even found a spare minute to come on here to let us all know! God you must be organised!! ;)

think i might have to pay a visit to Mr A this evening. their diesel is cheaper, and as its about 10 miles away, i only go once a month, so i'm gonna stock up on their bran flakes, pasta, chocadoobies :p , uht milk etc. hopefully i'll only need to spend about £15 cos there aren't that many things i need

just been in the garden to water the veggies, and i've re-potted the marigolds. they're going in the greenhouse/lean-to thingy i've got with the tomatoes and cucumbers cos i'm sure i read somewhere that they keep whitefly away

doing a roast chicken for tea...wish i hadn't planned that now, cos its too flippin warm to put the oven on!! not that i'm complaining about the weather ;) i just don't like making the kitchen any warmer than it already is!

well, time for a quick cuppa methinks, before DS15 gets in from school

    hope you're all ok x
