Can I ask all you lovely GC people do any of you use Eco Balls ? We use them for at least half our washes (worked really well on yucky nappies), also use Soap pods and washing powder (not together lol) for remainder of washes, and sometimes some softener. Just think these save us a lot of money on washing powder and wondered how popular they were among GC'ers!
    Thanks
Also updating my sig because I accidenty counted £10 as groceries when it was not used for that at all!!!!! Yippeee I can add £10 back on. :)

Sorry never used eco balls but was wondering if any one can tell me if they are fragrance free (i am allergic to fragrance and perfume) and can you use them on baby clothes. also where would be best place to buy them, are they economical to use Thanks

    Glad to be of assistance;)

The recipe is along the same lines as the Nigella one I use from her feast book:

Cream 90g softened butter with 100g caster sugar until 'moussy', mix in a baten egg and a teaspoon vanilla extract then stir in 200g plain flour, 1tsp baking powder and pinch salt. At first it looks like there's not enough wet to bund the dry but it comes together to make a nice dough. Frigde dough for 1 hour so it can be rolled out to 5mm thick (I make a log and slice it - much neater) but I reckon you could just pull off walnut size lumps of the chilled dough and flatten to make more 'rustic' looking biccies. Space well appart on non stick/lined baking sheet and bake for 8-12 mins at 180C. I've found I prefer them on the darker side of golden for dunking in my tea :p but they are lovely, crumby melt in mouth texture when just lightly golden too. Makes 20ish large (heart shaped cos I'm a softy) biscuits

Last batch I did I substituted lemon extract for the vanilla and added some lemon zest - awesome.:T

Tonight I'm going to substitute 50g flour for ground nuts and vanailla essences with super strong esspresso coffee (I'll drink the balance to help keep my eyes open while studying:rotfl: )

Warning - they don't last long!

NSD for me as I had to wait in for the electricity man to come and change the meter. I couldn't do any washing or baking in case he arrived and turned the electrity off. He was supposed to come between 8 & 1, but didn't arrive until 1.30

By the time he'd finished, ds was fast asleep, so I stayed in and caught up with the washing and am now waiting for the machine to finish disinfecting itself.

I've also cooked tonights ratatouille, a loaf of bread & a lemon maderia cake

Hope everyone else is having nice weather.
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j
