Our Asda doesn't sell them - I even got DD1 who works there to check up for me. I could't find them in Mr T either but tracked them down in Home Bargains and Savers.

I dont have an Asda near me, but our Tesco stocks them. Funny how it varies depending on where you live.

am thinking of trying a crustless quiche- anyone got a good, easy, low cal (ie no cream) recipe?? Or can point me in the right direction??

Have been missing you all :o

    here you go hun....pastryless quiche

to make it in a normal sized quiche/flan dish thingy you need:

    5 eggs
300g tub low fat cottage cheese
    salt&pepper
    splash of milk

mix all this together. whack it in the flan dish and bake for about 40-50 min on 140degrees. you need to cook it slow so the eggs set!

you can add cheese, ham, bacon, corn beef, tomatoes....whatever takes your fancy :D i do this one all the time as i can't make pastry very well, and if you slice it up, you can freeze it in portions

right, s'pose i'd better walk the dogs while its still nice out there!!have a good day everyone xx
  • hi there read earlier someone wanting a low cal quiche. cant find my crustless recipe but this may help

CHEESE < ONION AND TOMATO quiche,
    8 sheets filo pastry
    2 tbs light olive oil
    filling-
    2 tsps olive oil
2 onions cut in to rings
3 tamatos cut in to slices
    2 eggs
    1/4 pint milk- skimmed
teaspoon herbs ( whatever you like)
40-50g cheese grated (whatever you got)
    spot of salt n pepper

roll out pastry sheets and line quiche tin, brush with oil, cover til filling ready.
heat other oil soften onions and put in quiche base, put in tomatoes. Beat eggs, milk, salt, peper and herbs and put in quiche base, sprinkle on cheese. bake for 20/25minutes on 150 or gas mark 2. you can also change filling to any veg you have hanging around.

thing its a weightwatchers recipe but not entirely sure as i was given it by someone else.

(((dink))) - hope DH gets something sorted soon xx

mousy - are you menu planning? That has saved me loads, although I'm slightly obsessed now

    Hiya,

I did consider it but I can't handle the lack of spontaneity. Also choose what to cook based on how shattered I feel on the day.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
