Hi all, ( I originally posted this yesterday but on the wrong thread !!) thanks to the user that pointed this out to me
NSD for me yesterday, have updated my signature as I spent £35.00 yesterday at Mr A on Groceries.
I bought 3 baking potatoes and put them in the oven as I was cooking other stuff to take to work for lunches I would have microwaved them, yes would have done, but I forgot about them so have 3 very burnt potatoes in the bin now and a larger than necessary electricity bill as well I guess Grrrrr
Good luck to everyone this month

Hi all,
just a quickie as i`m off out again in a mo.
Just been to Asda and the whiskas catfood is still on offer at 36p, single tins only so don`t pick up a multipack.
Butchers tripe mix dog food is also on offer at 32 and 39p for plain tripe mix and the liver chunks in gravy.
Hope this helps someone, i`ve got loads stashed now for the coming weeks/months. Also for anyone near the big 24 hour store in Handsworth Sheffield there`s a raffle to win a car on outside by one of the local schools and tickets are a pound.

Consoling myself with the fact that we only got married and moved in together in September so up until this point I had done nothing domesticated at all!!
Can anyone suggest something EASY that I could try to cook/bake? So far the most adventurous I have got is chicken and broccoli bake or lasagne!!
Hi confused newbie,
Don't worry about not being domesticated - I didn't cook a thing until I joined this GC - now I'm always in the kitchen (not just at parties)
There are loads of easy things you can cook - treat wise one of the easiest things has to be Twinks Hobnobs, meal wise, the cottage pie (filled out with oats, carrots, etc) was the first thing I did and it's lovely too and you can make a big batch and freeze it for later. Not sure where the recipes are for these at the moment, but I know someone put the hobnob recipe on this thread, so if you do a search for hobnobs (search thread at the top of the page) you should find them. Or try something more adventurous - I'm sure it will be a great success.

Mornig all
I need to get to grips with going to Asda with a list and sticking to it. Only need 3 things came out with 9. Mind you did use 4 coupons so I did save £2.
Made a load of fish cakes yesterday I have had fish in the freezer since Xmas got £40 of fish for £3 as it was xmas eve but I don't use much fish. But my DD wont even try them she's only 2 and all she'll eats is pasta, rice or mashed potato with cheese and a few carrots or peas. She used to eat anything but all I get now is no like.
Well off to make some breadsticks and must stay away from computer otherwise i will get nothing done again.GC July £250/0 -
Well I have been busy in the kitchen, cooking up a stew from leftover beef, dodgy tomato, leftover courgette and a few other bits and bobs! Will have with rice tonight. Also made some croquettes with mashed tats and leftover egg/milk mix and breadcrumbs from yesterdays fish cakes. These will be chilled o/night and cooked tomorrow with the quiche I made last week (half left for tomorrow) Managed to freeze 3 big fishcakes from yesterdays batch too so that is enough for another days tea (they were yummy too). Also made DS's apricot and pea porridge- a weeks worth (so much cheaper than shop bought baby porridge!) and 4 pots of pork mince/apricot/yam/carrot for freezing- he has one of these if we are having something he cannot have. Ok, enough posting for now.
Hope everyone well.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

After I got married I still worked but spent more time in the kitchen and now cook/bake on a regular basis.
Don't put down your lasagne or bake as that is a start!! Well done for doing those. I have not been on here for long but find peeps are happy to share recipes and no doubt you will get some ideas. You will make the odd mistake, we all do, but you are a true pro when you pretend that was how it was meant to taste lol!!! And yes we all even have mistakes even a wonder cook could not fix lol!!
Take it easy, enjoy learning, and you will soon see how easy it becomes.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
