SFT - quick question whats OB? I realise it's probably short for your significant other but I'm at a loss as to what is stands for. I know what DH, DB etc are but OB is bugging me.
Lots of ideas running through my head - not one's I can put on here tho and mostly starting with OLD - which could be a bit harsh as I don't know you and your partner at all!
And yes I am a nosey old bat, actually not so old but deffo nosey!!Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
Wow!!!! Way to go, MrsM!!!!:j :j :T :T And annelouise, too!!:j :j :T :T
Jennybee - fab news on the loan being paid off!!! :T :T
SFT - glad to hear the dream is only postponed - we're all rooting for you to get there :-)
ALthough June doesn't start for me officially until tomorrow, I was feeling supermarket deprived, having not set foot in one for nearly a week, and we went to the library today & recycling points - bothe of which are next to our local mr T........ but I was strong and went over the road to Aldi instead, knowing that I'd spend less:D
£11.50 later (pain au chocs - much cheaper than big s/mkts!, tom puree, 2 jars jam, some veg and a couple of other bits - inc a jar of the raved about face cream @ £1.89 (bearing in mind my current jar is Clarins!)) and I don't feel too bad - I've had a shopping fix and not spent much:rotfl:
Need to make another loaf of bread - can't decide whether to do one tonight or super fresh in the morning.... decisions, decisions!
Now to update my siggy with my first spend:p

Ruthibe73-Old boyfriend when he's good....Old bu**er when he's not..
only joking..I though OH meant old husband when I joined so as I'm not married I thought I'd use OB for old boyfriend (not that old, just been with him a while) then I realised it meant OH meant other half .. but OB likes his name now. Someone asked earlier and thought it meant older brother..no dodgy goings on in my house and my actual older brother is def not OS..
Sorry to be confusing..

Good afternoon everyone,:hello: ,
I have started my new challenge today, Well actually started spending it last night.:o
Popped to Asda on way to pick OH up from work.
There cravendale is still on offer 2 bottles for £2. ( bought 6 so plenty of milk now.;)
They also had radox handwash on offer at 4 bottles for £3.
(I am planning on diluting the handwash down to make it go further);)
They also had soft and gentle deoderant 4 for £3 as well.
The handwash and deoderant offers were not listed/ advertised instore, i picked them up from their website.
Iceberg lettuces are on roll back.
From 98p to 75p
Total spend so far £15.31.
Have got a £5 off £30 spend which i am going to use either tomorrow or sunday. OH has asked for some beer so that £16 spent. Will top up on fresh fruit and veg and flour to make it up to £30:D'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Am realising that GC is much much easier when you live near Asda, Tesco, Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons. We only have COOP, Lidl, Boots, small shops and a Tesco will eventually appear from the ruins of our Somerfield which closed last month Am on the lookout for COOP, Lidl and Boots offers as thats the only ones we have at the mo!
PS Am in to bread making just now (have dusted off machine and got a brown loaf in there right now)- anyone know if Lidl bread flour any good ?Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
Encouragement always works better than judgement.0 -
I am going to give it a go. Just me and Hubby but we probably spend at least 100 a week so going to try and cut to 50 a week for or food bill.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0

Mrs M & mrssnowy - congratulations on your weight loss :T
SFT - chin up and I'm glad you are keeping going with the savings for travel. Your trip will be so much better knowing how hard you have worked to get there.
Popped out with Mum this morning, picked up woopsie leg of lamb and 6 pieces of thin steaks for £7.20 - I have managed to cut two slices from the lamb and cubed for use in stew/casserole later in the month, the rest will is enough for a roastmmmm!!
Popped into the next town along today. Mum asked me to pick up 2 packs of 2 slices of gammon (£1 per pack) from farmers market (only 4 stalls  ) - They only had 4 left so got the best 2 - had a pack each and I was only charged £1.50, so 75p each:T
Good luck to everyone!0
