    way to go MrsM:j

saving for travel, hugs to you, but just think how much more special the hols will be knowing its all saved for and not on credit:D you will get there but I know how you feel, I scrimped and saved to try and get my bank loan paid off and then my car broke which took virtually all I had saved in one swoop. However I should be making the final payment this month so its proof you can do it even if it just takes a wee bit longer than you hoped.

Just been and done my first shop of the month, spent a wee bit more than I intended but pleased to report

    milk is still on offer in Mr S 2 x 4 pints £2 or 2 x 6 pints £3
so as I only use 2 pints a week I bought 2 x 4 pints which should see me through till end of the month (ish) cant fit any more in the freezer unfortunately although I may just try and use up some stuff and get some more milk in if I can.

and for some bizarre reason Mr S own brand of tampons are reduced to 65p for 32 (normally 80 something for 16) so I picked up the last 3 packs on the shelf. Well they always get used:p

and I treated myself to some coca cola as its on bogoff so 12 cans for £2.55. I dont drink it very often so figured it was better than buying a load of choccie:rotfl:

also splashed out on some very expensive shower gel, well the 10p basics one:rotfl: always stuck to brand names before but thought Id try the asda version last month and surprisingly I have had no reaction to it (normally I flare up if I change my shower gel) and its lasted longer than the imperial leather one I usually get. So we'll see if the sains basics is as good as the asda one

So Im a spend today of £16.52

Popped to the library and picked up some more cook books so will have a trawl through them this afternoon and see if I can find anything tasty.

Still waiting for my bike helmet to arrive:mad: hoping its here tomorrow as I want to go out on my bike, figured I live 8 miles from work, I need to get fit to pass my fit test and I need to save money so Im going to start building up to being able to bike to work. Only downside is its 8 miles uphill (some very steep) along a very busy road. Hence I need to practise first and I wont go without a bike helmet as the traffic on that road is horrendous. But at least it will be money saving:rotfl:oh and exciting;)

Well done Mrs Mc!! I have lost weight & am convinced it is just because I'm not eating any 'ready made' meals & all our food is made from scratch now. Can't be because I am eating any less that's for sure!

After your post about the spuds - well I've got a confession to make.....I found 2 nets of seed potatoes with huge shoots on them in a corner of the dining room  (undisturbed for weeks as DD is supposed to be revising in there & no dining has taken place) Should I just plant them in the garden now & hope for the best????

    MrsM thats great news.:A

I had a gastric band in May 2006 and have lost 6stone 1lb to date and have 13lbs to go to goal by 27th December 2008.

I no longer think about food 24/7 and eat really healthily but a bit of what I fancy.I eat chocolate maybe once every 10days and not the whole bar!!

You'll look and feel like a different person.Well done you.It is lifechanging - Enjoy it.

  • Mrs M. WOW - You must be sooo proud of your achivment, what an inspiration.

I have been and done the monthly top up only shop and spent £67.03 in Asda on loads of smart price stuff some i've had befor and was fine and other that we havn't to see how it is, also went to Lidl's for a couple of bit and spent £ 16.60. I have stocked up on the things that i would normally end up running out of like things for pack lunches, milk and yeast for bread so i am planning to have 10 NSD's unless i have a major problem. good luck to you all with this months challenge.
