Hi all
Firstly Savingfortravel - don't change your nameYou can still save for your big trip! As other people have said, this isn't a rehearsal. Although I know that we're all doing this to put ourselves in a better financial position, or to stop the build up of more debt (or just because we like a challenge) we can't always put our lives on hold for it. You've been doing amazingly well with your GC so maybe a bit of a savings diversion might be needed for a couple of months but keep that Toucan on the fridge because you'll get there. I personally can't stand having to think "What if..." so I, for one, really hope you're able to do it
Now - back to my confession time. I went into Asda after work to get chives, tissues and milk. I don't think those 3 things cost £18.64 so other stuff must have fallen into my trolley. I did however get 4 packets of fresh rosemary for 24p each (my plant isn't big enough to be attacking yet!) so I can get 4 or 5 batches of olive oil and rosemary rolls out of that. And a lot of reduced bits and bobs. I admit that 2 of those 'bits and bobs' were fresh croissants and choc chip cookies!
Off to update my signature - going to the butchers tomorrow for mince and ham but other than that I'm done with the shops for a good long while!Jonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

Hi there,
Could I join in this challenge please?
Not sure how much I can manage on but will have a go at £180 for the month please. That's for myself and 2 children, 11 and 9. Moving house in June tho' so it might go wrong as not having time to cook, but we'll see!
ThanksI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Last day of May today, payday tomorrow. Need to tidy up the weekend's spends, but think I can make a better attempt at 250 pounds for June as it will be only 4 weeks, and have got a bit of practice.
One night away though for DD1s birthday in the last week of June, got 1p flights to Dublin, so can't complain.
Thanks
Zzzzz
Well done on your 1p flights! I did this in January. Make sure that you check the cost of luggage-we did hand luggage only and checked in online-otherwise it costs!
Warn you that Dublin is rather expensive(unless youve done it before). When you get there, stock up on drinks and snacks from the shops. Theres a 2euro shop somewhere in the sidestreets from the main shopping area. We did the open top bus tour of the city-the cheapest way to see it. Not sure if you intend driving but ooooh I thought the traffic was horrific! Loved O'Connell St if you like shopping, you will too! BY all means PM me if you want to know any more-don't want to go too far off topic!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Found you all now, but you're at page 15 and I haven't had a chance to catch up yet. WOW!
Good luck everyone! Hope all you veggie growers start reaping the fruits of your labours soon. My lettuces are coming on a treat!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

What would you do?
Sorry guys about this being off topic

Hi my thoughts are to go with your heart. it can cause a few blips in our lives, but is never too far from base.
LET THOSE HEARTS RULE ( well everynow and again )Mortgage Owed: Sept 14 - £107398.200 -
Please add me to the list at £50 for the month.
I haven't had a go at keeping track of this before properly, but firstly I have a fairly good idea of what I buy, secondly I have a big stockpile of various things in the cupboard that need using, and lastly I'm fairly sure I spend within that when I don't splurge anyway, so this month shall be an experiment to see how much I do spend and whether £40 would be achievable for July. I tend to get lazy and buy convenience foods too often for my liking and eat too many snacks, so it'll be good for both my wallet and my waistline to have an incentive not to do it!0 -
