SFT i'm so glad you're not gonna give up on your dream....may just take a bit longer, but i bet its worth it when you do both get there
Mrs Mc WOW!!! well what a fantastic achievement that is, and all done by yourself. you should be so so proud of yourself. :T :T :T
Anyhoo, this is the first chance i've had to get on here today to update my spends....this week has been really good for me so far, probably cos there's still quite a fair bit in the freezers.whatever i have left over at the end of each week goes straight into my sealed harry potter tin. my benefits are gonna drop by about £50 a week when DD17 turns 18 in july  and i'm gonna use those savings to help me out on really tight weeks.
got some spag bol out of the freezer that i made the other day, so that's tea sorted for tonight
hope you're all having a good one, and (((hugs))) to anyone who would like one xx

New to this thread.
There are 5 in our household - 2 parents 3 kids. Our usual food budget is £350 per month and I thought I was doing well until I read this thread!
We don't throw anything away and I try to plan a week's meals in advance & only buy what we need.
Any other tips?
Oh I should mention that we have to spend a bit extra as my DH is gluten and lactose intolerant. We get some stuff on prescription but have to buy gluten free flour to bake bread, soya and rice milk instead of cow's etc.Why choose to be right instead of happy when there is no way to be right? :cheesy:0 -
Okay final shopping for the week- fruit and veg from the lovely man at the market- including cherries as a treat for me for lugging it all back to work:o
Have some fruit in there for freezing too as I got a yoghurt maker today and wanted to keep it all low fat by mixing it with fresh fruit rather than sugary mixes- the yoghurt maker should save me a fortune too in the long run
Hope to get the planting done later before the slugs have a feast!
Now I had better do some work.....
June Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A0 -
Well, this weekend we're preparing to move. I am trying to be careful with the grocery budget, but I imagine there are a few takeaways in our future until the cooker gets hooked up and we get a few things unpacked. Plus we've tried to use up all the cupboard items and freezer items. So it will take a bit to build up the freezer/cupboard supplies again.
We're planning on having a big barbeque at our house in July (LOTS of family birthdays in July, so we figured one big celebration would be fun - plus less expensive!), so I'm trying to whittle small amounts here and there off the June grocery budget to pay for it. Guess I'll need to peruse the recipe threads for some interesting bbq food.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
Well I came in £13ish pounds under last month!
soo i'm going to try and shave it off a bit more so £200 for me this month!
i'm going to try and try and try to do this. We had a vegie week this week and spent so much less than we normally do, and we are still here! lol, so we are going to try and cut down on the amount of meat we eat all the time, hopefully that will help come in at £200
Good luck everyone for this monthx
Muddling through debt but can't see any light at the end of the tunnel??!!0 -

good luck all x0 -
Well done MRS MAC and keep going.
SFT as the song says "If you dont have a dream..."
Well first and last shop of the week and I,m confusing myself again. Went to Tesco yesterday and spent £53.25, now, £34.00 of this was clothing and I dont count that as groceries, I also bought flowers so wouldnt normally count that £1.99 (reduced). I then had a BOGOF of £1.32 then used coupons, the final total was £29.04. If I take the clothes from this total I,m actually about 5 quid up then if I take the flowers into account I,m up 7 quid! If I go even further and count the value of points in deals thats another £8.82 but I wont do that.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j
