Wooo hoooo June is finally over. Yesterday was another NSD cos I had already declared my June total a day or so ago! We have quite a generous July budget- hoping to come in under that, although it is a 5 week month so we will see. Today am RESISTING the urge to go and spend. Tomorrow we have to go to town for a class and so will do the bits and bobs I need to do in town then, and save spending cash/using diesel today. We might go for a walk later if weather not too bad but we will see.
Will the July thread appear soon ?
Tea tonight is leftover chick cass from yesterday with some rice (think there is some in the freezer) and maybe some other veg added to top it all up.
Well done all you who came in under budget and also those who, even though going over, tried hard and made some good changes. And to those who completely blew it, don't worry there is always another month! :T :TErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hi everyone,
Have been having a manic day at work today - never been so busy, still only tomorrow to go and I'm FREE!!!! (Ohhh, I'm sooo excited :j )
Had a scarey afternoon yesterday - went to D&A to have my free eye test from a voucher I got through IPoints (plus 500 nectar points) I have broken my glasses so really needed new, so it was good timing - checked out the price of their glasses as I also had a voucher for 2000 points for buying them - from £29 upwards (decent ones around £60 though)
my prescription has now changed, so I need some for reading and some for driving (they said it happens as we get older, what are they trying to say????:D ) so as second pair half price, thought it would be about £90 - then the bombshell - £60 each for lenses on top!!! - grand total £210!!!
Once I picked myself up off the floor, I went to specsavers with my prescription and got two pairs for £90 each, but only pay for one pair plus I treated myself and got a free tint put on as you get that too, so now I won't be squinting in the sun as I drive. I know they won't last forever, but £90 instead of £210 it was much better and should last me as long as my old ones, a couple of years at least!
NSD apart fron that and one again today as I am now totally skint till payday tomorrow (hope there are no emergencies!)
Big shop due Friday as we have nothing in the cupboards or fridge - Freezer full though so at least we can eat today - that should cheer OH up anyway! maybe I'll do some baking tonight to help out!LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Good luck to all, especially the newcomers. Once you're into the swing of this 'game' it gets easier knowing when, where and what to buy, stock up and give up. It's a bit like playing a hand of poker against the supermarkets! :rotfl: As ole Kenny Rogers sang in 'The Gambler', ... know when to walk away, know when to run!I reserve the right not to spend.

I had a NSD yesterday agsin thats 2 in a row and still we dont need much in the way of essentials as I have frozen milk and have been making my own bread in the BM I make one nearly every day and it does taste a lo better than shop bought and you can add your own tastes to the bread.:D

I know what you mean about glasses being ££ I always go for the BOGOF but still end up paying £250+. I have to pay to have my lenses reduced in size cos theyre thicker than double glazing and would probably break my nose from the weight if I didnt get the lenses made thinner!
nykmedia the new thread will probably start this weekend.
Wel done everyone for this month :T :T You've all done really well!!

Hi All
I am new to this but have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks. I would like to join the July challenge if possible.
Budget will be £300 for July. This is for 2 adults and 2 children. I am really going to try and stick to this and hopefully be under budget.
