    Hi to all
I didn't manage to stick to my £250 june budget but I will do better next month. My month starts on Friday and as my nearest Mr T and asda is 10 miles away, I want to stock up on as much as poss so I dont have to go in every week (saving fuel). My local supermarket is small and expensive so I only want to use it for the basic essentials. My freezer is close to empty and I would would welcome any tips on what to fill it with as our schools close on Friday and kids will eat me out of house and home.

On a positive note, I have tried out new recipies and even did some home baking:T . Got loads o praise from OH :D for being more creative with food.

Thanks to all for the helpfull posts. They're a joy to read

Wow, you guys are really fantastic on here. :A Loads of excellent advice. I'll have to see if they have the book in my local library and see if I can make some sense of the recipes. Blimey it really does have a long title!!!!

    Thank you.

No prob, it's a brilliant book and really easy to understand.

You can check online and order it there too - think you can do it free online and you have to pay if you order it in person at the library???? Something like that. I got my library website from our local council website, but should be able to put it into google and find it. Good luck...

Thanks for that - I've just popped a copy into my basket at Amazon. The reviews on there also say how great it is.

Gosh, I'm getting really inspired to start cooking now - just need to find the energy after a day at work even if I only work part time!

jackk-sounds awful but couldnt you just lessen their meat intake gradually until they are on just dry food, its much better for them as meat causes dental problems,(sorry-veterinary experience coming out)not a vet but worked on reception and get to see/hear and assist in allsorts.it would do you both a favour in the long run

I spent £3.75 in iceland today to get chicken breast and a few carrots to make up a mexican kit that I had in the cupboards. But I have to confess that my grocery challenge has been a bit hit and miss this month and i have forgotten to update the little spends. Perhaps I will do better next month.I think If I am honest I have probably gone over the budget even though my signature hasnt as yet. Oops
