Morning All! I love coming on here in the mornings and getting some renewed inspiration :T particularly on days when the motivation is flagging.
Had a NSD yesterday again- I think thats most days this week- its been a bit of a blur- and will have another today. Did get myself a Glamour magazine for the free lipgloss but that was out of my money and the lipglosses are a bargain!! Thats my treat for the week:o
Am off to the cinema tonight and have my own drink to sneak in and some fruit to snack on- am banished from my house so that nephew can have a small soiree
MrsMC- do you make your baguettes and bread by hand? I want to have a go but haven't got a breadmaker??
Thank goodness its Friday lovelies! (((Hugs))) to anyone who needs them:DJune Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A0 -
Hi All
Well I made Twinks Hobnobs last night and they taste gorgeous! Slight problem is though (and I quote my darling husband) they look a bit strange!
They kinda all went a bit of a weird shape in the oven. Are they supposed to do this? Wondering if I made them too big?!June £10 A Day Challenge - £0/£150.00June Grocery Challenge - £57.47/£200.000 -

Hello!
A NSD for me yesterday.:T
Just a quick question....
It's pay day today and I have the overwhelming urge to rush out and do a shop even though I don't really need too much. It's just the fact that I have plenty of cash (for this week anyway!) and it's burning a hole in my pocket!
Does anyone else get this feeling?
Am trying to be rational and not do it but its quite hard!0 -
rach if you don't need anything then at least to spend the money spend it on whoopsies where your money will go even further and you will feel pleased with yourself that you have stocked up for the future but much cheaper than usual:D if not put it away in the bank where you can't touch it or buy toiletries BOGOF for the future with it or xmas presents discounted anything that you will need in the future but has a cheaper price tag to it:D0

Goodness, I can't believe it's Friday already, this week's flown!
Weekly shop at mrT last night - £13.73. No real bargains to be had except a bakery pack of mini croissants reduced to 40p from £1.59.
Off to update signature, and hopefully catch up with some of the previous posts - in the meantime hugs/congrats/commiserations as appropriate, and hello to newbies!
Have a lovely weekend - hope the sun shines on you all.Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ...0 -
well Ive gone over but to be fair I did buy a few bits on offer which will last a while so not all bad
somerfield have cathedral city on offer at £1.99 for 400g so I stocked up on that and they had offers on their fruit and veg so stocked up on that. Really fancied cauli cheese for tea and as caulis were on offer I figured why not:D
So need to tally up and add to my total.
Mind the rising food prices were really brought home to me whilst I was in the shop. A little old lady asked me to help her work out whether some of the offers were really offers (ie pre packed broccoli £1 but it was cheaper to buy it loose if you went by price per g) and she said she has spent £12 a week on food for as long as she could remember, a couple of months ago she could buy that much she had trouble getting it home in her trolley now she only needs to bring one carrier bag and even thats not full:eek: she was really worried about how she would manage if prices went up even more and sadly she actually looked like she was going to cry as she had to put back some chicken as she couldnt afford it:mad: and bless her she was walking round with the offer leaflet trying to see if she could make any of the offers provide enough food for her for a week.
Really comes to something when our elderly cant eat and in winter freeze as they cant afford heating either:mad:
Sorry rant over, it just upset me a bit to see her struggle realy wish I could have helped her out a bit more but at least I know I managed to save her a few penniesJune Grocery Challenge 270.80/250July Grocery Challenge 0/3000 -
went into town this morning to do my gran's shopping and have just popped on here to update my spends, as i got a couple of things for myself. got a Father's Day card and a couple of bottles of wine for my Dad, and also some strawberries, which i'm eating now
wish this weather would cheer up, its really depressing me.....i can never be bothered when its miserable outsidegonna have to get my finger out and do a meal plan for next week. i've got food in the freezers, its just deciding what we're gonna have every day, and then i can see what bits & pieces i need to buy
hope everyone's having a good day xx0
