Chocolate teddy - Have you thought of sowing the lettuces inside for a couple of days and when it dries out ,place them outdoors.
Also crushed egg shells scattered around the perimeter is excellent to keep slug/snails away even in the trays.
My cucumbers have made a very tiny appearance - I am so impatient but after watering them last night in the dark they are all looking good.
NSD for me today.Disco for the kids after school 5.30 -7.30 and I take family size crisps, packet of biscuits and 2 litres of squash so maybe just a cuppa for me.

Have a good day all TFIF.

Well the girls at work think im on a cooking bender, for my lunch i took hm leek and pot soup made with real stock!for tea, hm quiche with salad and pudding hm rhubarb crumble.
But the other thing that goes through my head is when they sit down to eat their microwave/canteen meal i take a glance and analise what theyve got then think that for what they spent they could have made a massive dinner and frozen some, sad i know but i really have got the bug!! The girls think in brooding for something doing all this cooking, but its not what they think(a baby, one is enough for me) if i really tighten the belt(and OH) then i wont need such a larger amount loan for a conservatory....That is my aim anyway!!
Need to go out and get OH a fathers day present but this isnt coming out of GC and when i get back im gonna do some twinks with coconut!
    Hope everyone is ok

    mornin all

hope you get your motivation back soon denise thats happened to me a few times.its usually when i'm feeling run-down and have lost my get-up-and-go! then when i start reading all the brilliant things others are doing on here, it gets me back in the mood :D

looks a bit brighter out there today, so i've risked putting the washing out ....just hope it dries before the rain comes again!

Thanks MandyMoo, That's exactly what's happened. I think it's because I have just handed in my notice on my boring day job :j to start working with my friend and on my own business, and even though I handed it in over a week ago and I know I leave in two weeks, just getting up in the morning is soooo hard. (I start work at the moment at 7.30am) The time here is just dragging, making me feel bleugh and I just want to walk out and start on my good stuff! Still, it is coming, half way there now so just have to concentrate on that and get my focus back...

One good thing, didn't spend £10.74 last night, forgot to take BOGOF's and specials off, only looked at full total, it was actually £8.37 so only £5.42 over this week...MUST TRY HARDER:D

Hi everyone. I spent £5.10 yesterday, so I'm still well on target at the moment, total spent so far £55.50 out of my £200 budget. Let's hope I can keep it up.
Thanks for the eggshell tip, we have slugs in our garden and they are attacking my flowering plants :((
Denise, I have times like you, I get disheartened sometimes and fall off the OS wagon occasionally. So I come to the pc and read the motivating stuff on MSE and I get a surge of OS energy and carry on. hth

Thanks Tattycath, it's quite amazing how much better you feel once you've been on here, silly really as just words and me putting down my ramblings, but it's like a little therapy session that you can have whenever you want AND you don't have to pay for it! Feeling much better already and quite looking forward to the weekend...

    Morning all

Another NSD for me today :T ..

dinner tonight is hm minced beef/veg and potato pie -using the other half of the mince i cooked yesterday and some hm pastry i had in the freezer from making the quiche the other week :D ..and extra veggies

    Hi denise
hmmm if you did the recipe exactly the same then the first thing i would think of was... when you made them the 2nd time was it a warmer day or did you speed them up by putting them somewhere warmer? only i have had that happen a couple of times but only when i used to stick them in the sun to prove.. i think it was because its rising too quickly they weren't stable.. now i leave them on a worktop somewhere cooler and even though it takes them longer to prove they taste better and don't flop... hope that helps:D

Well i have had a word with hubby and in future instead of giving me the house keeping in cash he is going to take my savings book with him to the bank and put most of it in there and then just bring me the bit i ask for -so next month i just want him to give me €50 and stick €400 away as its so much easier to be tempted to dip into it if its here:rolleyes: ....
I am determined to get some more stuff used up out of the freezers and once the rest of the veggies start fruiting its going to be even cheaper to live :T

think i will start working out next months meal plan..well i will plan for as many meals as i can using what i have -so it will probably be way more than 1 months worth :D
right ... have a great day everyone :D

Went to Asda at 10pm last night to take DD1 home from work and being a few minutes early went on a woopsie hunt (as one does!!). The rotiserie had hot chooks at 50p so of course I bought a couple. What I couldn't believe was the guy who was telling his wife not to buy them as there must be something wrong with them cos they were reduced:eek: .

Some people really have no common sense have they:rotfl:

Have updated my sig and seem to be keeping to plan. I am going shopping down my favourite street tomorrow, I love wandering in and out of small shops but live next to a large retail park so have to weigh up travel costs against convenience.

I made some lovey cheese and red onion rolls this week - I just took a chunk of the normal dough after proving and kneaded in a handful of grated cheddar and some cooked chopped onion, made into rolls and when ready to bake brushed with water and sprinkled with a little more grated cheese. They were really tasty and will probably be added to my weekly breadmaking session (I have DD2 visiting this weekend so will probably have to double up everything so she can take a batch home for her student house)

Well off to go and strip the chicken:D
  • Just popped into Tesco to get some cat food and saw all peppers reduced to 35p if that helps anyone.
June GC No budget. Spent £166.83
    Mortgage £128,615 (June 2008)
Over paying mortgage from Aug 08 by £124 per month.

I just want to save money

Hi Mrs M, I think that's what I've done as I had them on top of the oven because I thought it would be better somewhere warm.... Me thinks that was not a good idea now :D

I am going to do a similar thing with my grocery money too. I am paying it off my credit card each week and then using that to pay for my shopping. that way, any that is left helps bring down the balance, plus, if I can get it down enough it means that I won't be paying interest as I will be paying most of it off each time (well, that's the plan anyway :D ) Only problem to that is my lidl shops, as they don't take credit cards, but I can take that out of my petrol allowance and then pay for my petrol on my card - again, only just started this and that's the theory, hoping that it works...
