Nothing much been on offer round here for weeks but keep looking. Also i have re-discvered my local market, seems to be much cheaper these days than the supermarkets especially for potatoes etc. on the look out for cheaper free range eggs but yet to find them.

While we are there the robin hood re-enactment is on, free only have to pay for carpark :T and we have clubcard deals for two days at Drayton Manor. So days out are 1/2 covered:rotfl: mainly food needed.

Better get washing in before school run -not raining here but looks very dull and dark in distanceThanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Well I went a little crazy today  , decided to use the bulk of the rest of June budget getting some fruit/veg/yogs which will do until pretty much the start of next month! Bought a 10kg bag of rice from Lidl, for £11.99- that way we will get a longer supply at lower price! Also stocked up on pastas, sauces, passata etc. Treated selves to a nice tub of ice cream too. Spent quite a lot but what is left will cover milk and any necessities until next month (we have milk to do to mid next week anyway). Better get cooking. Great to hear how you are all getting on.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Yes, my brother used to as a child, and I have had them a few times - it is almost like eating cheese and sweet pickle sandwiches.0 -

Hello!
A NSD for me yesterday.:T
Just a quick question....
It's pay day today and I have the overwhelming urge to rush out and do a shop even though I don't really need too much. It's just the fact that I have plenty of cash (for this week anyway!) and it's burning a hole in my pocket!
Does anyone else get this feeling?
Am trying to be rational and not do it but its quite hard!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I am feeling rather pleased with my grocery challenge this month (my first month); I have been thinking very carefully about by supermarket spending and have been very sensible. I think I have never ever spent so little on my larger than average family. My diet has also become healthier too.
HOWEVER, I have not included take-aways in my budget and have been rather naughty (I won't say how naughty!!!)
Next month I will review all my spending after I know how much I have spent on non-grocery items. Take-aways are my one and only weakness/luxury, so next month instead of saying "no take-aways for the month" (which I said this month and have failed miserably at!) I will set a take-away budget which will be lower than this month's!0 -
Wanted a NSD but saw 6 whoopsied wholemeal rolls down to 43p (next weeks lunches sorted)

Lost track a bit this past week. ended up spending at Sainsbury's from my pocket money and not keeping track. So I'm awarding myself and OH £5 each from the grocery fund and having done with it. It was approximately that much so hope it doesn't affect things too much.
That leaves me with £40 for the rest of the month, which I *think* should be plenty. OH made loads of veggie pasta and chickpea & courgette sauce to go with couscous. So I know have about 6 boxes of HM food in the freezer. Each box may not cover an entire meal for 2 people but even so that's about 4 meals covered. If we're very good next week, we should make it Hope those won't be my famous last words!
Have a good weekend everyone!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)
