Just updated my sig. Spent £1.50 on 3 peppers (35p each @ MrT) and some cherry tomatoes (45p) as DS loves these at the moment. I'm gonna slice and freeze the peppers so I can just chuck a handful in when I do chilli/bolognaise/pasta sauces.
Take care everyone

angelnikki - you just chop and freeze? Thanks, I never thought to try that!
Hello to newbies! This is my first month and I'm doing better than I thought.
I have not been on this week as I have managed to have five NSD!:T This is because OH was at a conference - and we eat a lot less when he's not here -:rotfl:
Did shop today (£4.85) - so away to update thread. I was scouring the whoopsies at Mr A today and they really don't seem to knock off as much as other parts of the country - they must be more tight here!0 -

I used to make these when I was little but instead of the chocolate andd marshmallow I'd chop up and melt a couple of Mars bars. I sometimes used to add a layer of chocolate over the top too. Occasionally added dried fruit in at the mixin krispies stage;)26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Hi everyone and well done so far:T
Went to Sainsbury's yesterday as I wanted some milk and hot-dog rolls to have with leftover bockwurst and chilli from freezer- making chilli-dogs. We had the bockwurst bought in jar of eight from lidl chopped into cheesy pasta earlier in the week. The chilli was leftover bolognese put in freezer last week, microwaved and spoonful of chilli from jar added- as well as a green pepper which needed using.
Was really pleased because bread rolls- were on offer, 3 packs each normally 59p for one pound. Got 6 hotdog fingers, 6 batches and 4 extra special crustry cobs that were lovely warmed with soup tonight. Also on offer was milk, 2 x 4 pinter for £2 normally £1.44 each. Also bought a 2lb loaf tin so I can try MrsMcCawbers bread recipe- feeling bit nervous about this as I've never baked bread or made a cake in my life:eek: . Wish me luck!

I have a breadmaker but still can't figure out if it is cheaper than buying a loaf, does anyone know?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Yeah thats right, I always do this with peppers/mushrooms/onions and then just throw a handful into my cooking straight from the freezer. Some people freeze them on a baking tray first and then transfer to a freezer bag, that way they dont stick together in one big lump but I dont bother with that and just freeze in a bag and bang the bag on the counter to break a bit off.

Have you got a USB slot, if so you could get one of those little USB gadgets (I think they're called pen drives, or flash drives look them up on ebay) and save your stuff on that
Yes that's what my son says - he is a computer whizz so he will sort it out. When our old computer died he managed to recover most of the stuff, and he managed to install the old hard drive, plus a new hard drive in this computer - he built it himself.0 -

OrkneyStar wrote: »Are they really that cheap in Tesco ? To buy them individually here is normally about 80p, at the least, for one! Three packs make them a bit cheaper as long as none is wasted. Looking fwd to Tesco coming here if really that cheap.
unfortunately its just because they're on offer until the 22nd - they're 88p normally
