  • Hi all, I have half a bacon joint leftover that I'm hoping to make a dinner from for tonight. Normally it gets turned into bubble and squeak, but I'm hoping for something different for a change! If it can be cooked in the slow cooker, all the better :) I have potatoes, pasta, noodles, dried beans, cabbage, carrots, parsnips, tinned tomatoes and a variety of herbs and spices. Any ideas much appreciated :D

So is the joint already cooked?:)
  • Oh yes, it was boiled on Friday so I think the leftovers need to be cooked today!

I always stick things like this into pasta with a sauce or in an omelette, but then I'm really simple me!

  • It would be lovely chopped up in pasta with a tomato sauce and lots of veggies or make a bacon dumpling, add it to a risotto or make a bacon and egg pie
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

my favourite left over! Pu it in:
    an omelette
    a risotto
    a soup
fry bits and sprinkle over a salad of any kind &/or jacket potato
    sandwich
fry some waxy potatoes and onions and add for a sort of "pommes lyonnaise"
