slice it and put in freezer for sarnies.

what can i make tomorrow night so they don't moan about "left overs"?????

How about a metaphorical clip round the ear(s) for "they"? It's extremely bad manners to moan about a meal that someone else has gone to the effort of making and putting in front of you. In this house moaning about the food earns you the cooking rota for the rest of the week.

Loads of ideas on the previous posts! I also think it's rude to moan about any meal that someone has prepared for them! However, I sometimes deliberately don't use up the leftovers until two days later - that way no-one realises that it was a "leftover" meal. So, although we had beef today and have plenty left, it'll be in the fridge until Tuesday and we'll have something different tomorrow.

I agree, beemuzzed (sp) - I'd fridge it or even freeze it and use it in one of the suggestions posted so far on another day.

Whilst I can understand the family not wanting exactly the same thing 2 days running (although I'm fine with doing that) I also agree that you should not have to put up with complaints about "left overs" - it's still very good food. Point out the savings you are making by using every last bit of what you buy, serve it up with pride and don't let them raid the fridge/freezer for substitutes for what you serve unless they volunteer to take over the cooking AND managing the food budget!

Another thing that can work well - especially qith scrappy bits that might not stretch to any kind of significant use is cubing for egg fried rice :)

there is a delia receipe that my sister makes and it has gammon and chicken pancakes in a lovely creamy white sauce. it is divine!!! if you have cream and chicken to go in it.

personally i would make a carbonara and add it to that with pasta. the kids and hubby loves it! :D

Save some to add to the leftover chicken for a pie.

    Hi
I have just been to morrisons to get the stuff for dinner tonight and tomorrow.
I bought a 2.5kg unsmoked gammon joint for to cook for dinner tomorrow (cheaper than a joint of pork/beef).
Theres no way we will eat all that on the dinner tomorrow so i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what to do with the left overs. I was thinking of using some for sandwiches for lunch on monday, but i could easily make something else for lunch if i could manage to stretch the gammon for another evening meal .... any ideas ?
Or do you think i would be better freezing half before cooking it and using it like that ??
