    Quality Post. :)

With regard to the aggression though, I think too many people live in a world surrounded by belly rubbers, a world where they surround themselves with like minded individuals who are only ever going to agree with them, even when they disagree!

I live in a world where I tell it as it is and encourage others to do look likewise. ;) If I think someone is speaking out of a hole in their rrrrrse I will tell them and if someone thinks I am speaking out of a hole in my rrrrrse, they are encouraged to tell me so, because education is the only way to learn and prevent similar occurences. :D

Thank you Tojo Ralph. I can assure you, however, that noone, apart from DH, rubs my belly, lol. My social group is vast, diverse and noisy, We debate for fun :o and have vastly different political views, social backgrounds etc etc. I've always been good at accepting and debating with other views (possibly from growing up in a variety of cultures and countries?) in any case, a lot of what I escribe as agresion here is just that, NOT debate, discussion or disagreement.

Its ok by me, I like it here and I tend to ignore the rudies when they are behaving badly. I did take issue on DHs thread because it was so kneejerk:o

Honestly, I'd debate most people into the grave, debate inspires and stimulates me, rudeness and aggression are a turn off.;)

PIPKIN WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?????

She will tell you, her & I fight like cat & dog on some points, but if I'm upset or I feel a thread will have upset her, we PM each other.

    Hi MrsE.

I'm here. Not for much longer though. It's assessment time shortly.

Anyway, the way I see it, if I was neighbours with MrsE we would have some amazing drawn out debates over the garden fence, with each of us trying to have the last word!

Yet, I would still go round the next day and ask if she needed anything doing.

We started out as enemies on the board, but, I hope have grown to respect each other, despite - or because of - our different view points.

We may disagree but I would still be there via pm and vice versa.

And therein lies the problem. :)

We are all individuals with varying degrees of skin thickness and fragility and whilst one poster may see a reply to a post as little more than a strongly expressed, well worded opinion, others will see it is aggression, rudeness, or worse still choose to play the, "I'm being bullied" card. :)

I am coming round to the opinion that some people actually don't realise how judgemental and inflammatory their posts are. Either that or they are VERY clever, which I doubt.

If you think along those lines, it might take some of the 'sting' out of what you read.

And I don't like to see good people go. So stay. Please?

Inspirational! This is nderful to read. Thank you for he reminder it is possible. I have a chum like this on another forum, we disgree on LOADS but recently I had a drama and she exploited all her contacts to get me through it. Similarly, I sent her on a date with a chum of mine who lives near her.

Its good to have people who you respect that disagree...it makes you examine your own views and opinions, which realy are more relevant to your life that what other people think, so you need to constantly check what you think is still right for you!

Thanks or the inspiration you two.

The ignore button is a fantastic tool.

Remembering that the people who -on here- are aggressive, have a go at you because of yours opinions, your spelling, or whatever picture of you they have created in their head , in real life are just small minded cowards who wouldn't say boo to a goose is even better!

This is not real life! Just a forum so it doesn't really matter.

Pipkin, if you & I were neighbours you could tell my husband he has the TV too loud. I'm almost embarrassed to face my neighbour, I'm always nagging him to turn it down. Worse thing is we are semi detached & its mounted on the party wall.

No Pipkin I haven't got a cup of sugar & I need that drill back I borrowed you last month:rotfl:
