Because I know exactly the threads you are on about. It's a clash of 2 differing opinions which then get's personal. I think another benefits thread has been locked overnight on discussion time, I haven't looked yet, but bet it's got personal.
And if you read, with an open mind you will see everyone is at fault, not a certain group, as the abuse is coming from both sides of the pond and both differing opinions.
You seem to take it so personally, seriously don't!! That is what DT is all about (can't comment on the benefits board). You can totally disagree in one thread but agree in the other....and the real posters don't take grudges from one thread to another.
So don't let it get to you, and writing these kind of threads will just open you up to more upset.
Seriously, just take it for what it is, strong opinions where there is blame on both sides....it's not neccesarily an opinion of anyone personally. If you don't like the way DT get's hot under the collar sometimes, just ignore it and stick in the arms!!
We can talk about boobage then
Edit: Oh, and the last thing, someone told me this ages ago and it's always stuck with me. If you get a barrage of abuse or strong feeling against what you have said, think about it logically. Don't just say'your all nasty' and go off in a huff. Theres a reason for it. What have you said to get people so up tight about something, whats the reason you are getting the reaction you are getting?
It's ok people giving you the advice you want, but is that advice right when it offends so many??0 -

I was shocked when I first joined here, and when DH joined, wow, the AGGRESION at his first post. But I see more and more that lots of people here are well meaning, and lots are just lovely, and the rest, well...maybe their advice is valid...
Good luck.0 -

Some do though Graham, carry grudges.
Not nice, not adult.
I bet they are the sort of people who were bullies at school.
Tell you what emsy, what it is about bullies.
They are pants on their own. The internet has become their gang, because its their protection, like a gang is to bullies.
If you realise what they are, MSE is the playground.
Now do you want to leave school because of them?
NO, you stay & fight your corner.
PIPKIN WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?????
She will tell you, her & I fight like cat & dog on some points, but if I'm upset or I feel a thread will have upset her, we PM each other.0 -
i wouldnt worry about any negative posts, just hold those fingers back and let others get on with it, altho sometimes you got to snap when you feel you got to lol, have a break from the site for a while, we've all done that before, but no sites worth leaving really, unless youre getting attacked by every member all day every day lol - hugs x0
