Hi you all
Just been out and watered pots again. Rain forecast here tomorrow but can't leave to chance. Been keeping an eye on Techie board today as my AVG stuff might go out of date.
DH off to Aussieland tomorrow and won't see him until early July. Mortgage just about to mature and I have huge list of to do's about that one and huge draft letters from DH just in case!!!!!
We have had to take other house insurance and not sure we are totally covered with £50,00 contents. Exterior house is unlimited. Any help on this appreciated. At least we have cover.
Loft fine and yes I can recommend for weight loss (Aussie you wee devil!) Who put the smillies on to my sig - not me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love and hugs to all, rather tired tonight and have to watch the Apprentice shortly.

Evening peeps!
Been a bit of a hectic day in the Melvis household! Was awoken at 5.30am by a bird screeching, then again just before 7am I heard it and thought that it sounded like it was in our house and it turns out our kitten had brought a live bird in and was tormenting it downstairs. Being scared of birds, I attempted to wake OH to get it (not knowing he too has a fear as we've never been in this situation before!). Having had too many beers last night he was none too eager to be awoken at 7am! I had to rush out to work and it looked like the bird was dead when I left and so OH would remove it when he got up. When I got home he was watching TV upstairs as he was too scared to go near the bird! It was in the same place it had been when I left 10 hours earlier so I assumed it was dead but was too scared myself to go near it! (we're such wusses in this house) so our friend came to our rescue and the bird was alive! After a 30 minute chase around the living room, moving furniture etc he captured it and put it in a box and I took it to the park and released it far from the cats! Hopefully it will survive, it appears to have lost quite a few feathers judging by my carpet but you couldn't tell to look at it and it still looked quite perky despite it's traumatic experience when we released it.
Asdie from that ... have been back at work today and we had a power cut so sat in emergency lighting for 90 minutes... if only the power cut had lasted a little longer we would have been sent home but unfortunately for us the power came back on.
Have finally listed some items on Ebay todayit's taken me a while but I'm on a bit of a roll now so hopefully some money coming in soon.
Nothing else to update I don't think?! Hope everyone had a nice bank holiday! Early night for Melvis tonight I think, I'm shattered and OH has gone to a pool night so it's a peaceful night in too!Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -

R.Mac - I was the even heighter of cool - my knee patches had starsky and hutch on them
Well I am totally discombobulated at the moment. Last night i closed my eyes at about 6pm and got woken up by dd(11) crying cos she misses her daddy. I'm afraid I'm not a morning person even if morning comes at 10 at night so she got short shrift. I suggested she put it all down in a letter and then email dad if she feels the same in the morning. Read it this morning and it's very tragic - all about how dad spends more time with his gf than her and doesn't know how I put up with her being such a crybaby - oh dear. It is hard though - he is in equal measures distant and then overenthusiastic and it's me that has to deal with the after shocks.
Had a lovely day out though with my bessie mate. Her house has been on the market for a while and there have been few viewings so it is being revalued on Friday. Anyhoo we bought tons of books from the charity shops and had a lovely lunch together. We are both back at w*rk tomorrow though (boo)
dd(11) has been [STRIKE]dumped at[/STRIKE] safely delivered into the arms of her loving big sister as I'm out tomorrow after w8rk - OMG I'm so excited. Am seeing the Dirty Pretty Things in Brighton. Will stay overnight and then back to w*rk on Friday
oh well must go and pack something that will transform me from suited civil servant by day - rock chick by night
have a good evening all
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

I managed to cheer up the bloke in the Passport Office. He was fed up with dealing with complicated cases and so was relieved when my application was straight forward.

betheebee, I have PM'd you, but for anyone else, I was just going on what I read Jackie had posted on Sunday, HERE. Hope you're OK Jackie (((hugs)))
Funny old day, got some gardening done eventually, but then had the delights of DS4 having broken the key in a padlock to their shared garage. The locksmith wanted £75 to come out and break in. DH and me, flew round trying to find bolt cutters but B&Q didn't have any and were just closing, so we bought a cheap angle grinder and went over to do it with that. My, those things make some sparks:rotfl: :rotfl: Wouldn't mind, the padlock wouldn't have shamed Fort Knox, and there's nothing of value in the garage:rolleyes:  The door's rusting away too:rotfl: Anyway, managed to get it off, and it kept us out of mischief for a couple of hours. Oh joy:D
Off for a look round, night all.
