Eek, friend just phoned and bringing round his accounts for me to sort out this afternoon, will be fun with all the kids running around! He's just laughed at me cos I shrieked when he offered to bring a loaf with him and some sandwich stuff - think he's concerned I'll make him eat lentils! Boy cat has just come home, he actually knocks on the door, not sure how as we don't have a door knocker and he has soft paddy paws! He looked in his food bowl, obviously decided his sister hadn't left him enough and followed me upstairs meowing loudly in protest. Fed him and he's now head butting me and patting me wanting to be stroked! Best whip this house into shape, got a tent drying on the dining table, and need somewhere to spread out all this impending paperwork!

A very Happy Tuesday to everyone, and kind thoughts and hugs to all who need them....

Today I'm back at my house for a 'final push' to prepare it for rental. My main problem is that the letting agency called me only last Friday to say they'd found a tenant, and they want to move in this Friday! There was still so much to do, 'odd' jobs like putting up smoke alarms, curtain rails, coat hooks etc., plus I still had loads of stuff there, including all my camping kit (of which there was mounds!) and a bed to dismantle! It didn't help that in addition to all this I was working long hours all over the weekend PLUS my OH and I are trying to decorate our spare bedroom in time for me to dump all my junk in there. In short, since Friday we have both been at it non-stop; on Friday we finished work at nine then came home and decorated until midnight! On Saturday we finished work at 17,30hrs and went straight to my house to fill the car up with boxes and so, which then had to be piled up in our dining room as the bedroom isn't ready!! After work on Sunday we finished decorating the spare room, and finished off at 23,00hrs. Yesterday I worked til 14,00 then was back at the house until 20,00hrs working and moving stuff!

We are both absolutely shattered, but the end is now in sight :j . My biggest problem left now is emotional. This may sound utterly ridiculous, but I absolutely adore my little house, and letting strangers move into it is going to be tough. My house flooded last July, and consequently I moved in with my Sweetie, something we had been talking about anyway. It didn't make sense to have two houses on the go. I know it makes practical sense to rent it out and earn some money from it, but I feel very sad and emotional about doing it. Sorry to sound like a wuss, but that's how it is.

Anyway, our house now resembles the set for Steptoe and Son. we have beds, mattresses, boxes, chairs and all manner of other clutter in EVERY room apart from the bathroom, and I am slowly cracking up!!

When my house is completely empty and ready to go, I'll celebrate with a little drinky; sometimes alcohol really is the only answer, haha!!

That's my moaning done for the day! I really hope all you nice people have a wonderful day. I'm off now to go and sit in the nice, tidy, clutter free bathroom for a five minute backwards and forwards rock before the day proper begins!! ;)

    Tot ziens!

  • Morning all, hello to the newbies :hello: and hugs to all in need, especially PP, Smokey, MrsMix, Betheebe and everyone else.

Not posted on here for a week or so, had to go and stay with mum for a few days, but she's fine now. The weekend was a complete washout here, the garden is absolutely sodden and it's very grey and threatening overhead today as well :(

Anyway OH and I have quite enjoyed our temporary child-free few days, we went to see the new Indy film on Friday and treated ourselves to a meal out. The rest of the weekend was spent nursing heavy colds :(, he started it! and now I have a raging sore throat and muzzy head. Oh well. At least all I have to do today is clean round a bit. Have already changed the bed and done two loads of washing although I think it will take until next weekend to get it dry :rotfl:

Was very organised last night and put the filling for a steak and ale pie into the slow cooker so that's all done for tonight now. Hoping it will stretch to at least four portions so I can freeze some for when DS comes home next week.

Need to put a seeded loaf into the BM and make a start on that horrible housework.

    Morning :hello:

Ladygrim, I would think that the insurance cover on your frozen food would be valid regardless of it being home made - you paid for the ingredients, after all, and will have to invest more time and money in getting it full again...
r.mac - poor you :( Hope you feel better soon :)
    smoky - ((hugs))
Penny-Pincher!! - glad you are feeling better. I hope you find another helper soon (and a good one, as I know how high your standards are ;))
    Welcome to lindab15 :hello:

I am feeling better(ish) this morning. Still got a bit of heartburn-type discomfort, but am certainly not chucking up like r.mac, so am at work (it's my busiest working week of the month). Just posting on here while I wait for a bunch of period-end statistical reports to run in our database.

Not a lot of OS went on yesterday. I tidied my living room at the expense of cluttering up my bedroom (the downside of living in a small flat with minimal storage space). I have been filling a large sack with old clothes to get rid of - does anybody know whether those charity bins you get at recycling banks are for items of any condition, rather than just saleable ones? For example, broken shoes... jeans which have worn through in embarrassing places... you get the general idea. Stuff that I'd give to the rag and bone man if there was one around locally.

Anyway, back to work - my reports have finished running now...

    Morning all,

I've just eaten tea. I couldn't wait for DH. I was starving. :D Had my tests done and back to the dr's tomorrow for the verdict. I read them but it's all Japanese to me. Got home about 5pm. The thrift shops were a total letdown. I was trying to grab a few bargains I see everyone can nab and post but alas most of the stuff I would take to the tip and they wanted top dollar.

Nice day out though. I caught all the right buses. :p DGS *all better now Ninny* in his own words but XDIL still blowing her nose for Australia. Had leftovers for tea tonight so that was quick and easy.

Hope you all have a lovely day. <hugs> to those that need them. Too weary for comments tonight. :o:D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning everyone, liked it so much here yesterday I've decided to visit again.....don't mind do you?:D

Anyway off darn sarf today to collect some stuff from my old house. It's only about 300 miles away .

I'm making tons of buttys as we speak, egg ones for me, laid by my lovely girls Sam and Ella.

I don't have a flask as lent it to someone ages ago and they haven't given it back.

I cannot stand to pay motorway services prices.....well I can't afford them anyway.:o

So it's old style on the move today. Will be back later on tomorrow, tarah.

I was wondering exactly the same thing. :)

And I also have jeans which have worn through in embarassing places. :o

    Morning everyone!

Thank goodness its stopped raining here today!!! by the sounds of it, looks like it was just constantly raining over London??

Went to the Transport Museum, had a good day, got the kids out the house! Good job we got there when it opened at 10 - cos later on there was a queue - standing in the rain!! It's all spanky new now and very spaced out after their refurb - but I cant help thinking there was more stuff in it before:confused: maybe not? DD didn't like the dummy people on the trains, buses etc - so I guess that rules out a trip to Madam Tussauds this week:o haven't been there for ages!! They have Justin Timberlake there now - they are calling it "Sexy-Wax"!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Had to go get some Persil this morning, as the Woolite (on offer at costco, and thought i'd try it) doesn't seem to remove the paint from DD's clothes! :rotfl: - bought a courgette to go with the aubergine etc to have a go at doing a ratatouille - 1 Courgette cost 50p!!! (asda). Then popped in Lidl and got a sweet potato and a butternut squash that are on offer this week. Never had sweet potato before. They have Cos lettuce at 49p this week to if anyone's interested.

What about the poor English Fisherman being held hostage by the French?? and no-one is helping them!

Fish Pie for tea tonite I think.

Essex-girl - the truckers were on tv this morning, thought about you and wondered if it might have been your OH on there!
    Mrsmix/catowen - Hi!
r.mac/bargainrzl - hope your feel better. My DH was up the other nite being sick/diahorrea - just thought it was my cooking:p

Time for a cuppa and put the hoover round and let DS get on here to play "car games"!

In the olden days you used to go and buy "patches" to sow on - do you remember???:rotfl: :rotfl:
