Sorry top ut a downer on ther thread -
My freezer has defrosted itself overnight, and now Ive had to throw everything out!!!
Wanna go back to bed and forget about today all together!!
Sorry guys - just had to vent.
LG
awww, that is bad news. that happened to us and i had to go round all the neighbours offering them random defrosted stuff, being careful not to offer any veggies any meat stuff. had to throw away a months worth of expressed breast milk - didn't think any of the neighbours would want that!!!will it be covered on your household insurance? my food was.
hope you get it sorted.0 -

welcome to the new posters
((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) for those poorly, troubled or just need one
I've had a busy weekend but seem to have got nothing done I still have a big pile of washing and ironing and the house looks like a bomb has gone off and I don't know where to startI also need to get some baking done as there is not one biscuit, slice of cake ,or much bread in the house
so thats my day trying to get some of these things done
have a good day all
pam xxxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Hi Lindab, welcome to the thread :hello:
Have you thought about claiming on your house insurance for your phone - you might not be covered, but it is worth a try
Ladygrim, if you are going to claim on your house insurance for your freezer defrost, give them a call. When mine broke down they said I had to keep the food to show them to prove what I was claiming. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Penny Pincher - your DD sounds like she's continuing to be a superstar (as is your DH!). (((hugs)))
Ladygrim - I can imagine how upsetting that is.
I managed to sort out a vague meal plan last night. The next step is to go to the butcher this morning and get some meat for it!
I've got to pop into the big smoke this afternoon as I've got an appointment at the Passport Office. I still haven't changed my name on my passport from when we got married two years ago (haven't needed to....) but our holiday is booked as Mr & Mrs VickyA, not Mr and Miss. DH doesn't know that I've been this disorganised.........
Anyway, onwards and upwards. I need to have a shower before heading into town. I'll probably pop into the library on the way back from town.
Supper tonight will be "Italian chicken" with rice - once I've got some chicken from the butcher.

Didn't sleep brilliantly either. Weather is still grim here. Not raining though. OH has gone to work. Have just made scotch pancakes for DS. Have no idea what to do today. Suppose I should tidy around, do some studying ect. but I feel too lethargic. Can't spend another day at home doing nothing!
Need to find DS fish in a bit think it has gone into the castle and is dead. DS will be so upset.
No idea whats for tea. Off to have a look in the freezer. Might be sausages and mash.
Have a good day all.

Believe it or not, most of it was homemade stuff (chilli, soups, etc). On the bright side it gives me a chance to give it a good clean and stock up from fresh.
Just wondering what else will go wrong today - they say it comes in three's.

morning everyone
not at work today as keep throwing up! Definately not the fish pie that was last nights tea though as DH is absolutely fine
house is a tip (not sure how as i cleaned it from top to bottom on saturday), but curled up on the sofa instead. will worry about that at a later date
missed the daily thread over the past week - tried to catch up on most of it - apologies if I have missed anything important
weather here is horrible - strong wind and grey threatening skies.
feeling ropey again ....will catch up later.....r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hi all - just back here with a coffee while the kitchen floor dries; I'm planning to go to the village and then on to the gym.
Welcome to Lindab - re your mobile phone - I read somewhere that if you put it in a container and cover it with dry rice (any sort, pudding, long-grain, etc) the rice absorbs the moisture very quickly. Worth a go, I think!
R. MAC - I hope you start feeling better soon.
PENPIN - I do hope you find another helper soon.
Well, we have grey threatening skies here today and it goes from being too warm to too cool - I shall be glad when (if) summer arrives.
I keep wondering why it's so quiet everywhere and remembered that it's half term here. My grandchildren are in Iceland at the moment so I shan't be seeing them until the weekend. Apparently it's about 5C over there - I do hope they were all prepared for it! I'm sure my DIL said she was packing warm clothes just in case!
I have prepped for dinner tonight and pegged the washing out (wishful thinking, really - I'm sure it will rain before the day is out) and given the house a quick whizz over with the hoover so I'm going to get ready to go out.
See you all later.
