the people who are getting this for free - how much subscription are you already paying - just to compare?
i'm currently out of my 12m contract and not paying anything - will i need to re-subscribe and will they tie me into another 12m?
Well, I'm paying £17 for TV + broadband and was offered free Sky+ by the cancellations dept. I was told I'd need to sign a new 12 month contract and keep being a subscriber after that to enable the recording facility to work.
So it may be pointless getting Sky+ if you want to just view the free channels and not have a Sky subscription....0 -
Following yesterday's failure, I called the cancellations team again today. I explained that having spoken to colleagues since cancelling yesterday, they told me about the free Sky+ deals they had been offered.
Over the 20 min call, I only raised a slight bit of interest when I offered to cancel the termination and stay with Sky but adding on Broadband and Phone. The manager came on the line and said there was nothing he could do regarding the free Sky+ install and although he'd *love* me to stay with Sky but it was out of his hands. He didn't budge :-( Grrrr!
I suspect it's to do with monthly subscription levels too. I'm only a £17 per month customer so not much for Sky to lose?
How much are other people's monthly bills?0 -
I only pay £21 a month and have been with sky for about 2 years. They still offered me the free upgrade straight away.
It seems that it all depends on who you get on the phone...If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0 -
I only pay £19 per month and thats only from April 2008, for the year previous I had a deal and was paying £14, I really didnt think I would be able to wrangle this deal at all but was pleased when I did
I think the way to do it, is to play stupid and tell them your working shifts now and cannot get the benefit of sky. I wouldnt mention other people getting it or the price or anything
I told them the price per month wasnt an issue, it was the initial outlay that was the problem, and thats when they offered it free
I hope you keep trying

Hello, I have two promotional codes to claim free sky+. You need to be a brand new customer(so as long as you haven't had sky in your name before) and need to call the special phone number that I have for this offer by 16 June.
Send me a message if you would like the full details. I would advise that if interested you should do this before 16 June as the phoneline will probably be red hot on the end day.0 -
That sounds good. Why not just post the details here? Save the hassle of PMs.

I did this last night. I was successful but it took a while. I was on the phone for 40 mins. The guy was very pleasant throughout. I told him I was very happy with Sky, no issues with customer service but wished to cancel as we were missing our favourite programs due to work commitments.
Firstly we were offered to drop our package down and reduce our broadband to save money. He also offered us free telephone for a year.
I said that I appreciated everything he had try to do for me the main attraction of Sky is the t.v and as we weren.t watching it it had to all go.
He then offered me Sky+ for £49, with £30 credited back to our account - however I would have to pay the £49 there and then. Effectively getting it for £19. I said that sounded good but I couldn't afford £49 on my card that evening. Thanked him again for all he did but could he please cancel. (I was really scared by now!!)
He definately made me sweat, he took me through all the cancellation terms, told me the date it would cancel and then said "Let me put you on hold while I await the confirmation it has been cancelled", I was on hold for 2 mins and then he said "My manager just walked past and ....... anyway just for you we will give you it for free!" Thank god I thought! Also he said for being loyal he would give us free telephone for 12 months (£5 p/mth).
Just for info, I have been with Sky 5 years on the maximum television package. We have Broadband for £10 per month and now phone for free.2014 Challenge...
