  • Morning all. Happy Birthday to Learning to Save and <hugs> to Mimi, I hope the news improves.

Troo, you made me laugh! I hope the family notices - I once left a dirty sock on the bedroom floor for SIX WEEKS in the hope that OH would pick it up - he didn't notice

Have done my weekly shop and put it all away, there's yet another load of washing on the line and the yogurt maker is on. Got a pile of ironing to do in a minute.

Going out for dinner with an old friend tonight so am looking forward to that.

    Breakfast: Crumpets
Lunch: Leftover bolognese from last night
    Dinner: Pub meal

    Have a good day, everyone!

Shez - are you eating enough? When i needed to loose 2 1/2 stone last year, i started eating less, and doing more exercise, but wasnt losing anything!!!! Spoke to the nurse at the hospital who said i wasnt eating enough!!! So, i started eating 3 meals a day (healthy meals) i cut out bread and potatoes (filled up on veg, including sweet potatoes and butternut squash) and snacked on fruit, nuts and seeds. Lost 2 stone in 4 months, and the final 1/2 stone after i had that wisdom tooth out!!!! Mind you, have put a stone back on, but have now 'evened out' and to be honest, the extra weight is looking ok on me (used to be really skinny) so im happy!!!!

    Morning everyone
Phew, a busy morning already for me. I went to my old uni yesterday and fetched all my stuff back that I had left their from my thesis and teaching. 2 very large boxes, plus all of my folders etc from my work. It means that my tiny 6'x6' study now has absolutely no room in it at all :o as I have spent all morning ferrying things to and fro from the car and sorting out what I need to keep. I need to get a new desk and some storage...anyone got any ideas where would be cheapest to get these from? I think argos is looking the best at the moment  But I need to try and get it sorted for next week as I am back to uni

So I have so much more I still need to do today: ironing, give the house a quick clean, washing (one load already in), sort my wardrobes, sort my jewellery (currently in a neat little ball!), oh yeah...write my thesis :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day...I am just having a coffee and a browse!

Has anyone got Paul McKenna's sliming CD - if so is it anygood?????

Shez you made me laugh, here you go: KICK!

But, can I please have one back?

I always feel the same, very unglamourous compared to everyone else. I'm sure you don't look like a mess at all. This morning I brushed my teeth at work (stayed at a friend's house last night) and dropped my toothbrush down my black top. I keep trying to wash it off, so I am now covered in damp patches. Very glamorous! In the mornings I always set the alarm early and then always hit snooze a couple of times. Maybe I should just set the alarm later...

I bought the Paul McKenna book, but haven't listened to the CD yet. Will bring it back up to London this w/e and let you know what I think.

    GO TO THE GYM!!!

    :D MPx

P.S. All those recipes are making me feel hungry...

  • Shez I was reading an interview with Stephen Fry in Sunday's Observer and he said he'd lost some weight by following McKenna's method. Basically it was learning to behave like a naturally slim person (Oh how I hate naturally slim people:rotfl: ). What he did was eat less, eat slower and eat only when hungry. Sounds really simple and really sensible - why can't I do it then  Actually I had a good day eating wise yesterday and am feeling positive about weight loss at the moment :)

    The interview is here http://observer.guardian.co.uk/foodmonthly/story/0,,1876744,00.html

I've had quite a productive morning, eventful too :D Made stew for SC, dropped kids off at school, cycled up to Tesco and bought coffee, grapes, sweetcorn and Radio Times. Cycled home, it's a nice ride home 'cos it's down hill all the way. As I was whizzing along a fly flew into my left eye. I rubbed it and carried on. By the time I got home my eye was itching a lot so I kept on rubbing it. I get this a lot when the pollen's in full swing, so I didn't think much of it. I started my pizza dough as planned and was in mid-knead when my eye began to get really really itchy and to feel as if there was a large lump of grit in it. I couldn't rub it because my hands were covered in bread dough  . Finished my dough and ran to look at eye in mirror  It had gone all red and swollen and closed, splashed with loads of water, couldn't see anything in it so made some coffeee and hoped it would get better. Browsed on here for a bit but decided I couldn't stand it any longer. So drove to the Dr's (I could see fine it just felt really uncomfortable). They had a cancellation with just a 20 min wait. Dr said it was an allergic reaction and the conjunctiva had swollen up which was what was causing the discomfort. She gave me a script for eye drops. So back to Tesco again  where pharmacist said it'd be cheaper to buy the over the counter eye drops than have the script made up. Thank you pharmacist :T
Have now taken anti-histamine and eye drops and eye is much better and it's still only half eleven.

MimiF thinking about you and your Dad.

    Hello everyone

I haven't been on the daily thread for probably about a week, so not up to date with what's going on!
    Happy birthday to LTS
MimiF - hope your dad gets better

There is a chicken carcase steaming away nicely in the pressure cooker at the moment, so we will have soup for dinner tonight. Leek & potato I think, although that may change if I find something else that needs using up in the fridge!
And I need to go hang the washing out - make the most of the lovely weather while it lasts!

So I am off now to rescue the chicken & get that washing out!

    Have a good day!

    Hi Everyone!
Day off work so lots to do!

2 lots of washing done, DW emptied and partly refilled. Lunches made, school run completed, quick shop then off to cheap sports shop for shin pads and kit for 5 yr old who has just stared footie (I know it would've been more oldstyle to borrow or get them second hand but couldn't!)

I am determined to make some sort of cake or biscuits for packed lunches today (choc fridge cake might win!). Dinner is sorted , shepherds pie with mince from sc last week and mash from left over spuds from yesterday!

Need to sort out lounge and put sons plug n play games in a basket £1.50 from a Dorchester car boot at the weekend! Very money saving as they are too expensive brand new!

Have 2 swimming lessons later (nightmare!!) so had better get back to work!!

Have good days everyone, happy birthday learining to save and hugs to Mimi xxx
