  • Hiya all

I'm bushed (again). Have done 4 mystery shopping jobs, wandered around all the opticians until I found some specs that both suited me AND didn't cost the earth . (You should have gone to specsavers ...oh, I did :rotfl) 2 pairs for £130 which includes thinner lenses/ coatings in main pair. My last set are 7 years old so not done too bad.

Got 2nd load of washing on line but a little late to dry them completely. Made a chicken bhuna for tea (yum) and have got to pack DW yet. The ironing pile has mysteriously grown today too :D Wonder what's on tv tonight - isn't that Stephen Fry documentary Pt 2 on? Will watch that in company with said iron :p

Ok, gotta put these MS jobs online (:() HAve a good evening

    Welcome back Mushy Peas!

Bargain Rzl - you won't be too far (at all) from where I live when you're in Peterborough!

    Hello :hello: to everyone else!

I've had a truly awful day at school. The children seem to be getting worse and worse. In addition, I was observed today and it didn't go well at all. I'm not the only one that it didn't go well for, so at least I'm among friends! One of the other teachers walked out at lunchtime......... so we'll see what happens tomorrow.

DH made a large vat of veggie sauce to go with pasta, last night. One portion has been put in the fridge for tonight and two more portions are in the freezer for another day. Bless him, he's being really kind at the moment.

    See you all later

  • Lordy, lordy Vicky I am so glad not to be in the classroom anymore. Keep your chin up, it'll be half term before you know it.

TM I shall be watching Stephen Fry tonight too. I've just listened to his autobiography 'Moab is My Washpot' on audio tape (read by himself) it describes his childhood up to his spell in prison. I think it was written before his diagnosis with bi-polar disorder, but now I know about the bi-polar his autobiography makes a lot more sense.

Just had a delicious supper of baked mackerel fillets with Morrocan spices, bulghar wheat salad, carrot salad and tomato salad. Feel very virtuous - whole grains, loads of veg and oily fish :D plus 2 plums for pud;)

Pen Pen - I have several frogs/toads (never did learn the difference) in my garden, couple of them took up residence in a bucket after we'd moved the pebble fountain. Sometimes, when I'm near the back door I hear them 'talking' but the other week, one jumped out from behind the drain pipe. I didn't want it jumping on me feet, so I nudged it with a stick, very gently, and .... it screamed!! Who knew!? I'd never heard one scream before and I'm not sure who was most taken aback - I certainly jumped backwards! :o

DD, who understands these things better than I, informs me that toads have warts. She was definitely up close and personal with this one. Didn't think so many people would have frog and toad stories!

Troo and Mimi, you sound like you've had a rough day.

MSE seemed to be misbehaving yesterday evening - or was that just my computer? I was trying to update my sig (got paid today and savings are nearly at £13k now) but the site kept crashing. I assume it was an MSE problem as I wasn't having trouble with other sites.

So it wasn't just me then! I couldn't get MSE to work for a couple of hours, either. Thought it must all be down, as I got no messages, either. But when I read yestreday's thread, oher people had been posting.

I woke up about 12 and told DH about it - so I shall have to show him this evening!! Dont hens bite you? and do you have to keep them penned up cos of the poop?? I like the idea of having a chook but not the pooper scooping!! plus the neighbours would think ive gone mad having one in my little garden in the middle of london!!:rotfl:

Thanks, Shez! Though I'm not bad!!:rotfl: :rotfl: Hens don't tend to bite, but coqs can. Eco is actually nibbling the beads on DD's sandals, in that pic. We keep ours penned up as otherwise they get into the sheltered housing gardens next door, and all hell breaks loose!

    Welcome back Mushy Peas!

    Phew I'm knackered!
Up at 8 after a night of waking myself (& OH) coughing, out of the door by 9, drive to Solihull for a meeting, then over to the NEC for an afternoon with my colleagues at a trade show. Got home at 1/4 to 7, feeling extremely grateful that there was a portion of thai green curry waiting for me in the fridge!

Still got to: put bins out for tomorrow, stick a dark load in the WM & iron OH's "best" trousers for his interview tomorrow.
I'm hoping to watch the Lost double bill tonight, but I suspect that I'll be asleep by then!

Hope you're all OK, great to have you back Mushy Peas.

  • Evening All

Had a funny day. Applied for a new cash isa online today - know should have done it sooner in the year but better late then never.

Went into town had lovely lunch and picked up wrapping for DS bday, also managed to get him the bowling game he wanted which was on special offer at woolies - had told him originally that he wouldnt be getting it as it was too expensive so I should be a popular mum on thurs.

Went to college and found out halfway thro lesson that myself and another couple of people should be on the next level which is another class tomm at 10am - suits me much better timewise and must admit I did all the work today quickly and had to wait a while for the others to finish so hopefully it will be much better for me. So was going to do ironing and some housework tomm morning but that will have to wait until later.

Feeling a bit strange today as we have just sold our static caravan - we have hardly used it this year and its very expensive. We also moved to a much nicer area which is right by the water so dont need it iykwim but it did feel very weird signing it away and starting to clear it out. DD is fine - she didnt want to go anymore anyway but DS is feeling it...he isnt too good with change. However I do know its the right decision and hopefully we will all come to terms with it over time.

Anyway because of that didnt get home till late and need to jump in the bath in a min so havnt done anything today. Just need to quickly iron a couple of school shirts for tomm and will get a reasonably early night.

    Have a great evening.

No warts on my one's ... so ... frogs they is then :D

Stopped off at the mini Co-op on the way home and bagged myself a couple of bargains (*note to self: type in PMS thread*) but she was so enthralled about the recipes I was going to make ... she miscounted my purchases in my favour :o Hmm, dilema, for the sake of 10p .. do I go back tomorrow and point it out? Would hate to get her into trouble!  "Least said, soonest mended" :D;)

Spanish was really hard tonight, I must be the dunce of the class; next week I'm going to go with a hm pointy hat with a 'D' on it and sit in the corner I think. Great for the lads though, because they are catching on dead fast and 'helping' me :o I'm soooo proud of them!!!
