    Morning :hello:

Gave up on trying to think of something to do with mince last night - swapped some stuff around in the freezer and bunged it in there - had bangers and mash for my dinner instead :o:D

MSE seemed to be misbehaving yesterday evening - or was that just my computer? I was trying to update my sig (got paid today and savings are nearly at £13k now) but the site kept crashing. I assume it was an MSE problem as I wasn't having trouble with other sites.

I'm knackered at the moment - I've been getting 7-8 hours' sleep a night and still waking up aching and exhausted. I suspect it's because I've made a conscious decision to slow down a bit, and my body isn't used to not running on adrenalin! :o My boss has just agreed that I can take Friday off, which is great as I won't get another proper lie-in until the weekend after next. It should also give me the opportunity to go to the hairdressers - I need a cut and colour cos I haven't had it cut since the cheapie one I had in May  and I'm going to a wedding on Saturday.

Which reminds me, I need to buy a wedding card, and a birthday card for my Dad whose birthday is also Saturday. For the wedding one I think I want a Christian message so I will pop into the gift shop at Southwark Cathedral at lunchtime and see what they've got. The wedding is in Peterborough Cathedral - I've never been to a cathedral wedding before!

MUST also remember to phone up and order the freebie wine from the offer in the Times last week.

troo - hugs! Hope you kick their bums into gear soon!

ageandjo - though I'm sure you have lots of problems with your back (and this is in no way to be taken as medical advice) one thing you might want to check is whether your kitchen worktops are the right height for you. Mine aren't, and I always end up with backache after spending any length of time preparing food. The kitchen in my new place should solve that problem.

Which reminds me, in case you were wondering, I am as yet no closer to moving house. I do at least have a manager on my case at the HA, but there are still issues with some of the info supplied by their solicitor (one of the searches was out of date, apparently, and there is a planning query that nobody seems to know the answer to!) I've been given another 2 weeks to reach exchange (taking me up to 9th October) and have been promised flexibility if the solics still haven't sorted themselves out by then. The cashback is still on the cards. I suppose on the bright side, if it drags on until after October payday that'll be one extra month of savings and I can DEFINITELY have my Miele washing machine ;)

Oh and Queenie thanks for the link about putting up curtains. If I ever move into this place I'll need it  :D

    Love Rzl xx
peterborough cathedral nice.. its right in the middle of the city centre so whilst the photos getting took you could nip to the shops lol. some nice cheepie shops or some not so cheap..
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

    Afternoon everyone
I made my ragu yesterday and it was lovely as always, I had somehow run out of tinned tomatoes (heaven knows how) so I used passata and it worked just as well. In case anyone wants the recipe its this one http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/an-authentic-ragu-bolognese,1678,RC.html it really is pretty amazing and makes loads. Although we ate a fair bit of ours last night :o
I have so far done very little today, been to the gym, tidied the house, bagged up ragu for freezer and washed and pegged some washing out. I have a meeting at uni at 2pm so i am just contemplating what to eat before I go.

    Breakfast: one slice of toast
    Lunch: possibly weetabix
    Dinner: fajitas

I didn;t make my flapjacks yesterday but I am going to have a go later, wish me luck!
  • Thanks jockettuk! (Under different circumstances I'd actually take your advice and nip into a couple of charity shops BEFORE the ceremony - but I am singing in the choir so will be rehearsing from 10am and the wedding is at 12, followed by an afternoon and an evening do. So won't see much of Peterborough!)

Nelski - Any chance of meeting up while you're in London? Sounds like you're pretty tied up as it is, but let me know if there's any possibility. CW is only 20 mins door-to-door from where I work :) If you and your brother haven't yet made exact plans for dinner I can recommend Amerigo Vespucci, a VERY nice mid-price Italian restaurant where the wine is lovely and the waiters are fit :D

Mushy Peas - blimey, it sounds like you've been through the mill lately! Sounds like things are now picking up though. Hope you're OK.

Good news - I phoned my local hair salon (my "cop-out" hairdresser - the nice but pricey one that I go to when I'm absolutely desperate and haven't been organised enough to get a cheapie deal!) and my favourite stylist EVER has returned from travelling the world and is now back working there again   so I have an appointment for Friday morning.

Never too old Shez!;) my Mum has just given up due to having dodgy knees at aged 65:D Our group ranges from about 16 to mid fifties - most of us being in the 40 - 50ish age range! We do it for fun, nothing too serious such as grades and exams and have shows in our local theatre for charity every year or so. We all enjoy dressing up in fancy costumes:o

Hope you manage to find something!

I'm doing nothing, I'm on strike.

If someone needs something to wear quickly, I wash it straight away. Ditto ironing. In fact ditto EVERYTHING. Does anyone do the same for me? NO  I had a puncture yesterday, couldn't find the repair kit, son had it last but couldn't be bothered to look for it so I have no bike at the mo. I hoover everyday (plain carpets) but son decides to saw some wood in his room then tramp the sawdust all over the house. Hubby moans to ME what a state the place is in........ And who makes sure I have clean clothes for work? Who cooks my tea when I come home and I'm starving? Nobody, I have to do my own. They don't worry about it cos the fairies do theirs.

I know exactly what you mean, Troo. All the running about after them you do and all the things you have to remember because they can't be bothered to remember! Then the slightest thing you forget to do/buy and they come down on you like a ton of bricks! Then should you ask them to do something and you are greeted with moans or "I'll do it later"!!!

Every now and then you have to go on strike so that they can all see just how much work you do. Then blow up at them and start delegating chores! Don't be tempted to do these chores for them when they forget/can't be bothered!

Dont hens bite you? and do you have to keep them penned up cos of the poop?? I like the idea of having a chook but not the pooper scooping!!

My mum has got some really pretty hens and they are very friendly and come to see you. They don't peck at all!

Feeling a bit better than yesterday and have managed to take puppy to the vet, polish, hoover all the dog hair up, wash the dogs bedding, DD's bedding and now Im kna*****d!!! Need to do a huge pile of ironing though. :(

Hugs to anyone that wants one! :grouphug:
