Well. I am one disappointed girl today.
As I told you SC came yesterday - decided to try it out with porridge. I love porridge - can eat it in pretty much any state. But - euuggh! Got up and had a look in - it looked like it just didn't have enough water and was a bit stiff. Never mind. I can eat it like that. I'll just remember to put more water in next time. However, I gave it a poke and found that under the top was a puddle. I kind of mixed the two sections together as best I could, finding out meanwhile that there was loads stuck to the bottom. I did eat it - but it was all lumpy and horrid. More like gruel than porridge.
I hope this isn't the way it's going to be. doesn't the SC like me? What did I do wrong?
Never mind. DD and I off to visit a friend. I'll give her some of DSs old clothes so that should help the clutter mountain that is my house
take care
well the smiley clearly didn't work either - lets hope today gets better"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Morning All,
Troo big hugs, I sympathise. DH and I had a falling out this morning, not quite sure what about, he had a bad dream about a secret I had been keeping from him (my honesty or lack of it has been a big issue in our marriage for the last year or so), trouble is said secret wasn't a secret and I hadn't hidden it from him but he is adamant that I did.
I don't know what to do, he won't believe me and is so angry with me. Considered not coming in to work today but can't see us getting anywhere if I stay at home, certainly won't get much done today OS or work wise as all I want to do is curl up and cry.
Sorry not sticking to the rules at all.
Breakfast: none
Lunch: none
Dinner: Pork chops & peppers
Hugs to all in need.

I was meant to be meeting a friend today who I havn't seen for a long while but she's just texted and said she feels ill. I'm up to date with my work as I did extra yesterday to make up for not working this morning so I'll get on with an essay for my course instead. I don't want to spend too much money if that's at all possible.
No idea what I'm cooking today but I'm hoping it will be something quick and easy.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
Morning!
Queenie my OH told me about frogs screaming after our dog killed one in the garden - we have loads in our garden:eek: I'm scared stiff of them, they always seem to jump out at me!
I also saw an animal rescue programme on TV where they thought a kitten had got stuck in a drainage pipe and when they dug it out it turned out to be a frog!(doing a good cat impression!)
Sunny day here!:j day off for me, am meeting Mum for coffee at the WI later and going to pick up my holiday pics at same time!
Going to get some cough medicine as I'm fed up of this tickly cough, especially at night - keeping me awake at night!
Have a good day all!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello all :hello: Big hug to troo who sounds SO fed up, and who can blame you - families, eh? grrrr
It's a beautiful sunny day here today so the washing from yesterday which is STILL on the line will hopefully get dry today. Have put bolognese sauce into the slow cooker for dinner tonight and boiled the last two eggs in the fridge for lunches this week.
It's Tuesday which means Flyday for me, i.e. screeching round with vacuum and mf duster in as short a time as possible to get it over and done with. Actually with the younger FFairies gone for the term the house doesn't look too bad so it won't take too long, hopefully.
Main goal this morning is to scrape the grime off the kitchen which is embarrassing
Breakfast: bacon butty
Lunch: HM soup and sandwich
Dinner: bolognese which has TONS of veggies heavily disguised as sauce to fool the fussy OH
Have a good day, all!

Morning :hello:
Gave up on trying to think of something to do with mince last night - swapped some stuff around in the freezer and bunged it in there - had bangers and mash for my dinner instead
MSE seemed to be misbehaving yesterday evening - or was that just my computer? I was trying to update my sig (got paid today and savings are nearly at £13k now) but the site kept crashing. I assume it was an MSE problem as I wasn't having trouble with other sites.
I'm knackered at the moment - I've been getting 7-8 hours' sleep a night and still waking up aching and exhausted. I suspect it's because I've made a conscious decision to slow down a bit, and my body isn't used to not running on adrenalin! My boss has just agreed that I can take Friday off, which is great as I won't get another proper lie-in until the weekend after next. It should also give me the opportunity to go to the hairdressers - I need a cut and colour cos I haven't had it cut since the cheapie one I had in May  and I'm going to a wedding on Saturday.
Which reminds me, I need to buy a wedding card, and a birthday card for my Dad whose birthday is also Saturday. For the wedding one I think I want a Christian message so I will pop into the gift shop at Southwark Cathedral at lunchtime and see what they've got. The wedding is in Peterborough Cathedral - I've never been to a cathedral wedding before!
MUST also remember to phone up and order the freebie wine from the offer in the Times last week.
troo - hugs! Hope you kick their bums into gear soon!
ageandjo - though I'm sure you have lots of problems with your back (and this is in no way to be taken as medical advice) one thing you might want to check is whether your kitchen worktops are the right height for you. Mine aren't, and I always end up with backache after spending any length of time preparing food. The kitchen in my new place should solve that problem.
Which reminds me, in case you were wondering, I am as yet no closer to moving house. I do at least have a manager on my case at the HA, but there are still issues with some of the info supplied by their solicitor (one of the searches was out of date, apparently, and there is a planning query that nobody seems to know the answer to!) I've been given another 2 weeks to reach exchange (taking me up to 9th October) and have been promised flexibility if the solics still haven't sorted themselves out by then. The cashback is still on the cards. I suppose on the bright side, if it drags on until after October payday that'll be one extra month of savings and I can DEFINITELY have my Miele washing machine
Oh and Queenie thanks for the link about putting up curtains. If I ever move into this place I'll need it

Morning one and all!
Been a while since I posted here but my thesis is all over bar the shoutingIt's not even 10am and so far I have had breakfast, put on a load of washing and replaced the clutch lever on my motorbike!
So am feeling very smug now and after that burst of activity I think I deserve the rest of the day off :rotfl: Unfortunately I shall have to do battle with a powerpoint presentation I have to give next week.
Anyway, I had porridge/muslei with apple for breakfast, will be having cheese on toast for lunch and probably chilli yogurt mushroom curry for dinner!
Have a good day!0 -
Will make turkey burgers for tea and need to go to probate office about getting probate granted for my Dad's will.
Seems lawyer has sorted out the mix up that they created!!!!
Have four wash loads on line and another three waiting their turn to get on the washing line!!!!
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Morning all :hello:
Usual mad rush this morning (I'm so not a morning person) but boys are at school with packed lunches and in clean clothes and I've managed to put WM on and sort some online stuff out. Need to put BM on shortly. I don't know whether to hang washing on line as it keeps clouding over. Decisions, decisions
Troo - families eh? Yestarday morning I asked Mr TM if he'd polished the boys school shoes. No - cos he hadn't needed to do his!! I mean, I didn't NEED to iron any clothes for me on sunday night, but I remembered and did all the boys stuff. I could have left them in wrinkled clothes couldn't I? Hmmm, I mean, we all use the whole of the house, but Mr TM would moan if it got dirty - but would he think of cleaning it? (every time I've asked him to clean the bathroom - 3 times in 10 years, he asks "how?" :rotfl:)
Anyway, have LOADS of washing to do today. DS2 had an accident last night so that's his bedding too. Was going to stay at home and get on with stuff today but I have a mystery shop in town. I need to to an opticians and get some more specx, my eyes are really hurting today. I'll bite the bullet and pay - after all, I only have the 1 pair of eyes (cheapy online ones not an option for me)
I have a HUGE to do list on my whiteboard - mainly business stuff, but I expect I'll get some housey things done today. Kitchen needs a darn good clean, for a start
OK, ((hugs)) all round and have a great day

Greetings and hugs to everyone. Not a good start to the day when DS(4) shouted me at 4.30am to tell me that his duvet wasn't comfortable. Needless to say he went straight back to sleep and I lay awake until DH went to work at 6.30 then fell asleep until the alarm woke me at 7. So not really with it this morning.
Nevertheless, I've done a big pile of ironing, tidied DS bedroom and changed his bedding in the hope that he sleeps better tonight, WM is on and might chance it on the line this morning.
Lunch - something yummy and easy to do, don't know what yet.
Dinner - HM veg soup, I'm at work from 4.30 so need something I can microwave.
Have a good day,
soba0
