  • Hi, this is the Daily Thread. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning all:hello:
Baking day in the Thrift household - muffins for school, but that's all today as I did the flapjacks yesterday and some scones. I'm really going to try hard to cut down on the baking for the family as I'm eating too much of it. I shall be baking bread as usual, so there will always be bread and hm jam for the Thriftlings- they won't go hungry :)

Mackerel for tea tonight, might try bake it with some veg as the salmon onSunday turned out so lovely that way. Will let you know how it goes.

Queenie, I'd love to have a go at making this. Where do you get your almond oil? I did a quick search and the price seems to vary enormously, and I'm not sure whether the quality is variable.

    Hazel

I bought a 300ml bottle from an Asian supermarket last week £2.35 (I've just checked Kelkoo and there are some ridiculous prices being quoted!!!)
The manufacturer is KTC (Edibles) you might want to contact them and ask where the nearest supplier is to you.

Almond oil is often used as a base oil to mix e.o's with for massage etc., so might be worth looking in places which supply those items. 5yrs ago when I first made the bubble bath, I bought a bottle from a Holistic shop, but wouldn't recommend that necessarily because I remember paying what I thought then was a lot for a teeny bottle. It's also used in cooking and I found a slightly larger bottle either Sainsbury's or Holland & Barratt (can't recall precisely) and it was more reasonable.

Hope you find somewhere local to you at a reasonable price and not the over inflated prices I've just seen online :o

  • Morning Guys!

Another bad night:mad: OH had to help me out of bed this morning as body had just seized up:eek:

Wont be doing much today, but the WM has been put on, DW emptied and toilet cleaned. House generally is clean and tidy. SIL is here today to help with a few things around the house and do our ironing-so it will help loads.

Had problems with DD last night:rolleyes: so we decided to start using the naughty step:D She hated it, but she was so rude and if she had stormed to her room, she would have just been ignoring me. So she had to sit on the 2nd step (as we did when she was 2!) and although she moaned like mad...she worked it out in the end to keep her trap shut and not be rude or stay on there longer. She was there for 12 minutes!......Do you think it would work with the OH:confused: Anyway she is in a much better mood and we had a big dramatical apology last night:rotfl: ......kids....why do we have them:confused:;):p

OH made a lovely french bread in the BM last night and was devine with butter and jam on it!

Anyway, better go and take me drugs and have some breakie.

Breakie: Cheese Sarnie with HM Bread
Lunch: Baked Spud, Ham and salad
    Dinner: Fish, mash and veg

:hello: Gooooood Morning fellow OS'ers :):):)

Apart from Spanish Lessons tonight, I haven't planned much for today, very much a "do as much or as little as I feel at the time" kind of day; not sure what's going on with my body clock, but sleep/tiredness has become quite an issue.

Homemade bread and jam is on the menu for the boys packed lunches, with fruit salad and yogurt.

Do need to book myself a hair appointment, nurse appointment and Dr's appointment, so I'll get those done as soon as the offices open. Fastest finger time :rotfl:

Snowy - don't know if it's any use, but I did stumble across this if you don't want to pay out for someone to put your curtain pole up:
    Curtain Pole Erection

Pen Pen - I have several frogs/toads (never did learn the difference) in my garden, couple of them took up residence in a bucket after we'd moved the pebble fountain. Sometimes, when I'm near the back door I hear them 'talking' but the other week, one jumped out from behind the drain pipe. I didn't want it jumping on me feet, so I nudged it with a stick, very gently, and .... it screamed!! Who knew!? I'd never heard one scream before and I'm not sure who was most taken aback - I certainly jumped backwards! :o :rotfl:

    Time for a coffee!

Hello to all who follow and welcome to all the fresh faces who have joined us :):):)
