As a lot of people seem to like this idea let's get it ready for tomorrow morning.

If you're starting a Daily Thread can you copy and paste this into the top post?

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 25th September '06This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:bdaycake: Many Happy Returns, Mr BE and Dobie :bdaycake:

    :hello: Goooood Morning :):):)

It's bucketing down outside and has been most of the night, so washing will be hung on hangers/airers in the bathroom and airing cupboard.

As my diet plans went off the rails soon after they began last week, I have a chicken carcass to make into soup via the SC today :o
Need to make some pizza dough and rustle up some more calzones for the packed lunches, they came in very, very, handy last week on those days where time was very short between lads coming home from school and other early evening commitments.

Will be doing the PMS Challenge post later today.

Have a good day everyone

  • :hello: Morning everyone

Hope everyone's well this Monday morning. PP I know what you mean about the soap and ds -mine's the same:rolleyes: They grow out of it though according to OH.
I'm off to make porridge for the kids in a minute, oatcakes and apple for me a bit later.

After they've all been delivered to school I'm off to Tesco to do a basic shop, then the farmshop to stock up on carrots and apples -we get through loads of both.
Soup for lunch (yesterday's leftovers) and leftover chili for supper from the freezer - everyone eating at different times tonight.

Might make some flapjacks for school tuck shop later.

    Morning all

V.happy birthday to Mr Badexample and to Dobie.

I'm up about four hours after going to bed and two hours before the alarm is due to go off. Ah big sigh! Will try and keep my peepers open all day to encourage some proper rest tonight.

Old Styling today will be to try and convert my home office from pigsty back to home office. It's rather embarrassingly cluttered and untidy now - I even things lying around on the floor which isn't good. I need to thin out my books too, which I can't stand doing, but I know there are several of them which I will be unlikely to need in the future.

My mother v.kindly gifted some curtains to me. Well, they are about third hand now, having graced the front room of her sister, but didn't quite tone in with her carpet. I can live with them not being my first choice. I have to book someone to put up the pole first, but they will be just fine once up.

I made some nice Weetabix cake yesterday...didn't have enough milk so substituted it with tea and didn't have enough sultanas so topped the cup up with coconut. Result is a moist and morish cake. Yum!

    Exciting in SnowyOwl land huh!?!

    Have a fab Monday all.

Happy Birthday MrBadExample and Dobie :bdaycake:

Monday mornings -argh!! Well I'm dressed and my hair is in a towel so I suppose I'm not doing too badly. Made DD's sandwiches for the whole week last night and bunged them in the freezer - so I'm feeling suitably smug :D

Need to make mine and DH's in a minute - not sure if you can freeze tuna and mayo (think I heard that mayo doesn't freeze well  ) Also got to brown some meat for the SC, do DD's hair and get everything ready for school/work - oh and wrap an ebay parcel.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    (((((hugs)))))

Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Morning all, just time for a quickie (IYKWIM!!!)before getting the kids ready for school. Just ironed uniforms and kids are fed, might walk this morning - it's only about a mile, or might go in the car and call in at the shoe shop for shoes for me. It's a couple of miles away but it's the only one I know of that sells Mephisto shoes. My last pair cost me over £100:eek: but they've been fantastically comfortable and have lasted over 5 years, comfort being very important when you're on your feet all day at work - so I guess £20 for a year's wear is good going.
Not much OS happening today, have soup mix soaking in a saucepan, so will make some veg soup later, and yesterday's leftover corned beef pie and leftover mango crumble for tea. Easy peasy.
    Hope everyone is well,
    soba.
