  • Lovely to see everyone in a much more positive frame of mind re the Daily Thread this morning :D

Here's a quick summary of what I intend to achieve in an OS stylee today......

:) Make Cauliflower & Potato Soup for tomorrow's lunch (100 times nicer than it sounds)
:) Might make some bread too (by hand, gave BM away as didn't really got on with it)
:) Make the pastry for Nigella's onion pie which we'll have for tea tomorrow
:) Clean bathroom with vinegar and microfibre cloths and dust bedrooms as per cleaning rota
:) Use the free range eggs we were given yesterday courtesy of neighbour's lovely chickens for a spanish omelette for tea

I'm just taking it easy for the next hour as I've found 4 inch heels are not the best for doing the school run in :D

I might go and hang the washing out though as being 4 inches taller is always a benefit when it comes to my washing line :D

    COME BACK TOOTLES.

    Goodmorning eveybody,

Well today has been a busy day and have just got home. Prepared a slow cooker meal last night and put it on this morning so tea is cooked. Got all our supplies and I start painting the verandah timber tomorrow. Paul (friend) arrives around 1pm and the steel starts going up. :j Will post some piccys in the days that follow so you can see our progress.

I must have missed re: the daily threads so can someone fill me in please. Is it stopping ?

    Edited: found it. :)

Well will probably pop back in after tea. Hope you all have a lovely Monday. It's fined up as well so my prayers have been answered. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning :hello:

Am in the office today but feel like life is back to normal - other than the scary impending house move, that is :o - so I'm strictly enforcing my weekly budget from now on as I've been soooo naughty over the summer :o

Was quite proud of myself yesterday, achieved quite a large chunk of de-cluttering (mainly old cassettes and videotapes - I figured if I didn't care enough to label it, it wasn't worth keeping, and also if it was just a film taped off the telly it'll be on again sometime, so not worth keeping on bulky outdated videotapes!) Where I'm moving to, I have more "usable space" than I do at the moment but hardly any built-in storage, so I'm being completely ruthless with anything that is past-it, worn-out or unused.

Breakfast is 2 Tesco Finest Pains au Chocolat, reduced to 20p, and lunch is one of those yummy new "authentic Indian" Tesco ready-meals, reduced to £1. So not very OS but definitely moneysaving! Dinner will be another portion of last night's HM fish pie, with peas, and when I've had that I'll box the rest up for the freezer.

LOL at Moggins in the 4-inch heels! I've got a new pair of shoes today. Well, sort of. When I went to Cheshire Oaks with Nelski a couple of months ago I stumbled upon a bargain pair of shoes that were identical to my existing favourite pair of work shoes - so I bought them to be put away in the cupboard until another pair decided to fall to bits!

    See you later
    Love Rzl xx

    Successful weekend baby shopping.

Did you find one? What were you looking for a boy or a girl? :rotfl:

    Sorry about the lame joke!

Hello everyone! Im looking through everyone's posts for inspiration for dinner tonight. Im having HM spaghetti bolognese (I made a load weeks ago and froze it) and, although my youngest daughter will eat it, hubby and oldest daughter wont! :( They don't know what they're missing!

The WM is whirring away and I need to get up the energy to hoover (dog hair everywhere - need a dog hair hoover really. Any recommendations?)

elona- is it your DD first year at Uni? My daughter starts next week and we have been busy buying sheets, towels, food items, cleaning items (she hasn't cleaned in her life! ) and are trying to think if we have thought of everything!

troo -  - flour beetles sounds awful!!!

Queenie - Can I come round for tea Thursday? Salmon and new pots sounds delicious!!! :D

    Have a lovely day everyone!
  • Good Morning - may I come in :)

I was directed this way last night, so here I am - need a bit of nudging sometimes, so hopefully you lot will inspire me.

So, today - one dishwasher load in (with another 2 to do as we had a birthday party yesterday), and one child (5) despatched to school, with a quick pop to the shops for bread and a paper on the way home.

Have to go and pick him up again in just under an hour for a hospital appointment, then take him back again (this is my keep fit day - lots of walking, lol)

So in between that, and looking after the birthday boy (3), smelly one (6 months), and hubby (disabled), I desperately need to do some laundry (eldest went to school in his last clean shirt this morning - that's what a weekend off does for you), the rest of the washing up from yesterday that can't go in the dishwasher, package up a load of parcels and take to the post office from eBay auctions that finished over the weekend, and peel some spuds for tea.

Add in schoolwork, lunchbox, more washing up, bedtime stories etc this evening and I may get to sit down around 9 tonight

    Wish me luck :)

  • Morning all, huggles to everyone

Didn't get a huge amount done on the weekend as We got stuck on the M4 on the way home from Robbie on Saturday (he was fantastic as usual) and was really tired. I did several loads in the WM yesterday so will need to iron that at some point today, have another load in at the moment. BM was put on last night so had fresh bread for brekkie this morning and I put our big shop order in to be delivered later today.

Ihad a gorgeous bunch of flowers waiting for me from DH this morning as it is our 2nd wedding anniversary today. Can't believe 2 years have gone by already.

I'm actually w**king today, but will have to go to the bank, PO, sort out car insurance and, get the car cleaned out as my new car is arriving this evening, am so excited. This is the first car I have been able to choose myself ever, all my other cars have been found on my behalf so haven't had a say in what they are.
DH is doing salmon for dinner tonight, we're not going out as we are booked to go to Amsterdam at the end of the month with my Hilton points, something else to be really excited about.

Well WM has finished so am going to put that out while its dry.

    Morning all :)

I fell of the OS wagon a while ago but today is the day I start to get it all back on track!

DD has started reception part time, so my first job today is to write myself an action plan for housework/chores for the mornings so that I have the afternoons free to play.

    2. Quick tidy all through
    3. Go through freezer and cupboards and write a meal plan for the week.

I hope that people won't stop posting on the Daily Thread. The ongoing discussion has inspired to post on here because everyone defending the Daily Thread has reminded me what a lovely, inspiring thread it is.

When my WM finally gives up the ghost I'll try to get one with a timer so I can programme it to come on in the night.
kiwichick - my WM is old and very basic but I plug it into a timer (it was only about £5) and programme it to come on during economy 7 that way. Maybe that could be an option for you?

Have a good day peeps :D
