Evening all!
Pretty productive day and weekend in general!! Had an MSE friend to stay for the weekend and it was cool.
the flat was blitzed in prep for her visit so now *still* looks lovely!!:D
Popped my pork shoulder joint into the slow cooker first thing with some red onions, apple and veg stock, and we've just eaten it   it was very nice!!! Had it with yorkies, cabbage (as you can probably fathom from the thread my charming boyf started, I have rather a lot left!!) carrots and roast potatoes. *and* get this, I used the juices that had formed at the bottom from the pork, apple and onion to make a gravy!! :T
Was sooo chuffed with myself!!
Got plenty of pork left so am making sweet and sour pork with stir fry veg and noodles for dinner!!Sweet and sour sauce is a recipe from here too!!:T
About to go and make soup for the week's lunches, tomato and lentil soup. Breadmaker can go on tomorrow night, I think I've surpassed myself for now!!!:p
Oh and tomorrow night I shall be handwashing!!!Of course using my new found way of getting out all the water!!:D

Just wanted to say ((((((((hugs)))))))) to fay
I think I'm firmly in sad moving-house mode - found myself getting all unnecessary over a Bosch fridge-freezer in John Lewis this afternoonIt has all the stuff I need/want and is within my budget :j - Am just waiting till I get my completion date then I cam order it :j - Having been in shared houses etc. M MY ENTIRE ADULT LIFE  including 8 months with NO freezer  I am soooooo looking forward to having enough freezer space for the first time EVER. And enough kitchen cupboard-space. BLISS :j :j :j
Made a huuuuuuuge fish pie this evening :j It's yummy and the remains should do another 4 portions

Morning everyone
Am biting the bullet and getting on with today's thread. I don't see a reason not to!!
I'm at home again today - how I wish I could motivate myself to actually get heaps done, but for some reason it just wrecks me big time and I don't do as much as I would like. Guess it might help if I have perhaps an MSE free couple of hours in the morning and in the afternoon....actually, I think I might try that!!
My plans for the day are:
tidy up my desk
tidy up the floor in my office and give it a wash
hoover my sofas down
go and pick some blackberries (the last lot went hairy in the fridge so have to be replaced....must use freezer! Intend making jelly)
read and read and read some more of Tightwad Gazette - awesome book!
Does anyone know if it's possible to freeze rice pudding? There is a recipe in my slow cooker handbook which I like the look of, but it's to feed four. If it doesn't get frozen quick it gets eaten as I can't resist the temptation... any advice?
Hope everyone is well. Shame it's Monday for all you office guys and gals, never mind.

Successful weekend baby shopping. So much so we have a rather large pile in the lounge and we're not sure where we're going to put it all.
Finally have the pram / pushchair...which has been left at my parents place for the time being. Bought bedding, muslins, nappies, bottles, breast pump, free huggies change bag...amongst a host of other bits and peices. Its amazing how it all builds up.
One plus is that we now have most things about somewhere should bean put in an early appearance. Am going to try breast feeding so the bottles I have are suposed to be able to work along side it (expressing). Not sure about terry nappies at the moment. And have decided to go for the easy disposable route initially.
Jobs today are mainly finding somewhere to bung all the baby stuff in some sort of order.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0
