    Morning all.

We are off to Morrisons for the first time in ages. I have been experimenting with Aldi's for the majority of things but there is core 'stuff' we need to go and buy today. It has worked out quite a lot cheaper and the standard of food has remained stable.

I need to do a book people order later, and want to order the new english cooking one. I am going to have the river cafe one as well but am stuck on what to have for the third free book. Conran or Roux I guess - or has anyone got any suggestions? I hate buying books that I havent already had a look at in the library....

Just a quick post before work - I have to make my sandwiches, I was hoping to have some of last night's roast pork but there wasn't a scrap left, it will have to be ham.

Must do a house blessing when I come home, the place is a tip, mind you when DS is back at UNI on Wednesday I will miss him, tidy house or not.

I also want to try a cream of tomato soup recipe from Saturday's paper, so we'll have that for dinner.

  • Morning everyone:hello:
I love Mondays :D Once all the kids are at school I've got time to myself.
Plan for today - drop kids off at school, go to Tesco for basics and new socks !, then off to the farmshop for lovely local fruit and veg. I'll probably spend the rest of the day on here ;)

Breakfast- porridge and toast for kids, yogurt and stewed plums for me
Lunch - cheese and salad sandwich, apple
Supper- cold roast pork, jacket potatoes, salads, yogurt and fruit for pud or leftover quince and apple crumble.

    See you all later;)
  • Morning all :hello:

The only reason I am posting now is because DD started fencing lessons at school today - they start at 8.00 am so I have about 25 mins to myself now before I need to head out to work.

Mrs Mix hope the party goes well.

tinkerbell and Amanda have a great holiday. My trip to New York seems such a long time ago now. :( I don't even have anything to look forward to next year as my brother, sisters and I are buying my parents' house for them so money will be very tight.

DS also came home with a slip from school about a trip to France so that will be another few hundred I will have to find. What's that mantra someone quoted on Saturday - "money is coming to me"??? Is that it? Must start repeating that on a regular basis. :D

Haven't read the weekend threads so ((((hugs)))) to all who need them or just want them.

Well, time to earn my crust I suppose.

    Morning :hello:

I'm going to whizz through the housework today, just a quick hoover and dust. I've got lots of cards to make :D

Mr troo make a blackberry and apple pie yesterday, he opened the (in date) flour and there were flour beetles  We don't usually bother sieving flour, but we did this time :D Sieved 'em all out then used the flour :D

If there were eggs, well a bit of extra protein never hurt anyone.............

age, cat, (and I do so hope tootles will read this also) I also hesitated to post this morning, but, decided, blow pobs to the complainers, I'm going to carry on as I always have. So ...............

:hello: Goooood Morning, fellow OS'ers :)

Chicken/quails fed and watered, BM on with wholemeal seeded loaf for the lads packed lunches.

Today begins my lose weight/get fitter personal challenge. I have still await my free pedometer but I have an older one which isn't particularly good/accurate, but it will produce a figure each day and at least I'll know if I've increased or decreased my physical activites until I get the new one .

My meal plan for the week is:-

    Mon:
    B: Porridge L: Tuna Pitta D: [STRIKE]Butter Bean Hotpot[/STRIKE] Take away.
    Tue:
B: All Bran L: Tortilla Wrap with cottage cheese/salad D: Stuffed Peppers, with rice
    Wed:
B: Yog with muesli L: Gingered Carrot Soup D: Spicy Chicken Pasta with veggies
    Thurs:
B: Porridge L: Cottage cheese with courgette and onion salad D: Salmon, new pots and veg
    Fri:
B: Yog with fruit L: Pepper Frittata D: Lamb Burgers, new pots and veg.
    Sat:
    B: All Bran L: Pitta with tuna+sweetcorn D: Turkey Strogonff + Rice
    Sun:
B: Yog with muesli L: Tomato and Pepper Pasta with salad D: Chicken, potatoes, veg

Another goal from my list was to learn a foreign language and so tomorrow evening, we begin our free Spanish Course at the boys school. Need to sort through my stationery horde for my a folder and papers :D I'm going to see if I can use/put some of the phrases onto my MP3 and then I can practise while I hoover and iron  If not, then it will be headphones on with the DVD while I use the rebounder. To that end, :shhh: don't tell the lads :silenced: I'm going to look into the costs of a holiday in Spain and then work out a budget for that.

Need to update my spending on the PC today after Saturday's shop and log all the bargains in EagerLearners spreadsheet program.

Wishing you all a good day  :):)

    Good morning everyone,

Wasnt sure if i was going to post this morning, but decided i would, ive so enjoyed the daily thread, and would hate to not contribute in my small way!!!!

Hi, Cat! Like you, I'd thought about not posting, but you've spurred me into it! I love this thread, and would really miss it. IMHO, it ain't broke, so needs no fixing. Apart from its length, and I'm not sure what we can do about that, does anyone else have a complaint?

Busy on FLC III today. We had lovely warm, no HOT weather here over the w/e, so were outside the whole time. How come the house is messy, then?

No time for individual mentions, but big thanks to everyone who's posted.

Rchddp, good to see you back, thought bean must have put in an early appearance! How long now? And, been wondering for a long time, what's the origin of your user name?

I found that home made pizza, lasagne and a huge quiche went down very well with my lot.
Also home made burgers with turkey mince, onion etc.

I hope you were careful with the saw, I am too clumsy for that!

You will love the slow cooker once you get used to it. My lot love my cheat's chicken lasagne in it!

Sitting here as an idle slob with a pot of tea before dashing round York later to get bits and bobs for DD before she goes back to Uni.

No idea what to make for tea so lets hope inspiration strikes before then!

    Hugs to everybody.

Come back Tootles - we miss you!!!
