Breadmaker on with 70% wholemeal, fingers crossed.

Have just prepared 1 lb sloes ready to turn into sloe gin, gin was leftover from party last month. There are loads of sloes round here! I panicked when I couldn't find any almond essence (as I don't want to have to go out today) then found Pen pens post on the glut thread, thank you Pen Pen now that I know I can wait 2 weeks before adding it the panic is over! :T Also thank you to zzzLazyDaisy for posting on that thread that I no longer have to fight to peel a raw butternut squash again (I have found it a dangerous task! ) I now have mine wrapped in foil and roasting for 90 mins!

I have swished and swiped and now have to shine some sinks! ;)

    Welcome to OS susiesaver

Now can someone kick me? I drove into town leaving the Argos reservation numbers on the side :( So I am now back home with no presents and have bought 3 magazines and a huge bag of maltesers to cheer myself up.

On the theme of magazines I bought one called The Country Kitchen and it's fab, I am now wondering where I can get eels from for the eel pie :D

Hi, Catz, think I've left it out completely before :D with no ill effects!

Let us know about the bread - I use 50-50, but 70% wholemeal sounds good. Do you add vitamin C to brown bread?

I suppose you could say that I did find one. Spent some time with the family which included a morning running around after my loony nephew (he's 2 1/2 years old). I'm sure my sister has put him on 'go daft' pills.

I hate to tell you this but all toddlers are like that, you need eyes in the back of your head, skates on your feet and a cushion tied to your a*se:D

  • Goodnight all,

I'm off to bed. Other than watch Cold Case and be on here I"ve done nothing exciting tonight. Big day tomorrow so hope it all goes well.

BS I made HM pizza last night. I use the pizza dough from the recipe index and it's lovely. I hate tomato sauce on my pizza, has to be bbq.

Elass :naughty::D Ooooooh shopping. I really want to buy some new summer shoes soon.

Have a great day everyone and catch up with you later. Byeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Thanks Penpen! Now to find that darning needle!:D

I am experimenting with a new bm at the moment, 100% wholemeal was edible but too heavy so now 70% if that isn't any better then 50%. Yes I have added 1/4 tsp crushed up vit C tablet which someone recommended. I will keep trying till I get there!

Is the hotpot veggie? Could I have your receipe for it please Queenie?

    Many thanks

It is veggie but sadly, I can't post it because of copyright, but I will send you and Shez a PM telling you the source if that's ok?

beachbeth - See you thursday ;) The salmon was very reasonably priced from Iceland Frozen foods and I steam it in my 3 tier hob steamer at the same time as the potatoes and veggies

earthmother - I'm pleased you decided to make your way over, lovely to have you with us :D Hope your son enjoys his 3rd birthday :D

No os'ing in the practical sense since the bit this morning but OS has most definately been my preoccupation today!

I haven't OS'd all day, in fact the only housework I've done is hang the washing out. Tonight I have to cook meals at all different times because DS is going to scouts and DH is on night shift. So I am cooking Mcdonalds chicken steaks and pasta for the kids and DH and I are having lemon chicken and rice (provided by an Uncle Bens jar) and then this evening I am going to slob in front of the telly with my newly bought magazines and CSI!

Do I give a rats a*se what anybody thinks? NO!

    Hi everyone!
Just a quick post today as the clock is ticking and I'm due back at work!
Had a very OS weekend and was pleased to get the washing and other bits and pieces up to date. Now got a whole pile of ironing awaiting my attention this evening!
Toilet sprung a leak yesterday...not very handy. However, OH in true MSE fashion has been and bought a replacement part and he and my lovely Dad are going to mend it later this week. It's one of those jobs you can't ignore really isn't it!!
Other OS plans for this week are to track down some gorgeous yarn to knit my Mum a scarf for Chrimbo and make some of my seasoning for pressies.
Best fly...have a great day all you lovely friendly oldstylers!
