Ah darn, I was too late .. to start the thread, LOL.
Today (14.09) is my birthday, officially I have been THIS old for 5 minutes now  . However, I have also decided I will be this age for about 5 years
Haven't actually read the thread for the 13th yet .. shall do that now.
Last night (12th) I started my b'day celebs by going out for a meal, v.good evening but v.alcoholic ..... painful head this morning, wonder why
Today I went to a friend's house and picked 2lbs of plums, now made in to a crumble and in the freezer.
'fraid that was the extent of my OS today ...
Enjoy and sleep tight, tomorrow I am off to a Health Farm with my ma as a treat :T .GC - March 2024 -0 -
HAPPY BERFDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BERFDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BERFDAY DEAR Z-ED
HAPPY BERFDAY TO YOU (sung in my best voice)

Spoil yourself at the helf farm - 21st birthdays only comes once you know. :rotfl:The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Oooh, health farm... how jealous am I?! I miss college.... all those free massages/facials/etc
Zed, I hope you have an absolutely fantastic birthday!
Found some brambles in the local park the other day so I quite fancy going and picking some of those!0 -
Morning everybody!
And a very happy birthday to Zed42 from me too!! That is an excellent strategy Zed42, to keep the years at bay, think I might give that one a go too...Have a fantastic time at the health farm.
Taplady...hope you and Tapgent are getting some kip tonight. I know you are both worried, but good that you're getting the doc appointment out of the way 1st thing. Fingers crossed that it is not anything complicated.
AussieLass - did you hear anything more about that woman you mentioned at the end of yesterday's thread? It sounds pretty dire - when you go to investigate please have your OH go with you.
Jo138 - glad you've got your own user id now! You mentioned yesterday about your kitties...I'd love to hear their names. My two are called Teddy and Dylan. I was mum to Oscar, Henry (see avatar, he was a fantastic boy), Baba and to Tabitha - all now angels waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge - I miss them all so much.
You'll have guessed by now that I've had a less than successful night's sleep. How annoying! I even did a bit of exercise yesterday - OK so it wasn't exactly a marathon I did, but still better than nothing, and I thought it would encourage me to sleep. Unusually I'm having trouble getting to sleep. Gosh, I should just cut a record and play that - this seems to be my only topic of conversation!!
Joannasmum...keep pestering the insurance people...you gotta get mobile again soon.
Has anybody seen Hardup Hester lately? There are few others AWOL at the moment...Smashing Blouse, and R.Mac, and Jo from Bath...to name but a few...
Have a fabulous Thursday everyone. However may I ask that at 10.30 am you send me some strength giving vibes...I'll be at the dentist's at that time...
Bye!

Happy Birthday to Zed! Have a wonderful day.

Not much planned today. Will put a beef casserole into the SC when dawn finally breaks and put the breadmaker on. Still haven't done the ironingbut have yet more shirts to do now so really must get to it today.
I'll be walking a friend's dogs later on, she's offered me some pears from her tree :T so will be scrumping some of those for the freezer. Somewhere I saw a nice blackberry and pear pudding-y thing so must get my act together and dig out the recipe.

Morning
Happy Birthday Zed42
I'm not in a good mood today so I apoligise upfront. I'm going to rant and I know it. Last week, my colleague was off and a protest march was organised. I agreed to cover it for work, knowing that would mean working a 7 day week with many additional unpaid hours. She comes back and tries to make me cover her shift so she can go to the march. Now we both have to cover the march - WHY??? There's not going to be enough for both of us to do. It's just because it's a big story so she feels that automatically makes it hers. She's not my senior before anyone asks that either. Plus I've now got to stay late as my boss wants to discuss who will be doing what out of the two of us. Then when I eventually get home, I've got a public meeting to cover tonight. That will go on till about 9.30pm for me to have a half hour drive to get home to get up at 4am again tomorrow. Now, as she's working the late shift, how come she couldn't go to this meeting?? Oh that's right, it's not big story.
Sorry rant over.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
:hello: Gooooood Morning fellow OS'ers
Been a very busy few days in QueenieLand so I haven't had a chance to catch up on the threads (yet!)
Made 5 jars of Blackberry & Apple jam, one my elderly neighbour, another to take over to my friends and 3 for us  pickled a batch of quail eggs and been planning a OAMC (Once A Month Cooking) session to use up the meats in the freezer. I'll do the actual cooking over the weekend. Used the dough function to make some calzones to use up some odds and bobs from the fridge and frozen most of them for packed lunches.
Got the free tax disc holder in the post yesterday and was pleased with that and now just waiting for my Piggygifts from Pigsback. Got several other freebies I'll be keeping my eye out for, which I'm hoping to use in gift baskets, depending on the quality.
Having new gas pipes fitted either today or tomorrow, so I need to be in and 'available' in case they need to resite the meter; seems they fit the new pipes inside the old ones but if they can't get their new pipes around the bends internallythey'll need to run new pipes in and that could mean having the meter moved from inside to an outside box. We shall see
Today's plans are to reconcile the budget. While I'm cooking the books in one room, the BM will be put to work making cakes and some dough for stromboli. D11yo has chosen Italian as his theme for their International food evening so we're experimenting with different recipes in advance. Then he can decide which he feels most confident with making.
B: Porridge with sultana's and honey
L: Turkey salad sandwiches, fruit, yogurt.Salmon, new potatoes, veggies and HM icecream
Have a good day everyone, ((hugs)) for those who need them.
