((Hugs))) to Mogins and Roz-V.0

Moggins - not sure if your sense of smell has taken a hike too? Maybe you need something with a strong aroma to get your tastebuds tingling, eg some nice fresh soup? On the otherhand if strongly smelling food puts you off then I'd also suggest the fruit smoothies. If you need to get something down then perhaps some of those "complete meals" eg Complan would be better than nothing? In the longer term I think you should mention this to your GP as obviously you're missing out on all your nutrients, not to mention the energy food provides.0

big hug to you roz and your oh
moggins, dont have much ideas about your appetite, would a glass of something sparkling, wine etc help? isnt that what an aperitif is supposed to do, probably wrong, if so forget that i spoke0 -
Moggins - Something that is really good as a pick-u-up tonic and can get your appetite going is Metatone Tonic. You get it from the chemist and dilute it with water. It has a slightly fruity taste and is quite nice. Its great for when you are recovering from illness and has vitamins and minerals in it. Its good stuff.
Someone mentioned yesterday about using evening primrose oil for PMT. Well, over the years I have tried everything, including EPO and vitamin B6 and they have no affect whatsoever. I also read somewhere that there have been no clinical trials to prove that these things actually do work and I really don't think they do.
At the moment I am on the pill as it helps with regulating my periods and I am not so ill at the time of the month. I hate taking it though because it makes me want to eat more and Im not as thin as I used to be. Also, anti-depressants stop me wanting to kill someone in the run up to my period. If I couldn't take these two things then I would spend 1½ to 2 weeks suffering from PMS and shouting at (and hitting!) everyone, followed by nearly a week in bed suffering badly with the pain. Then I would have a week where I felt great and then it would all start again. My husband and daughters would leave home!

Morning all!
scottishspendaholic - good luck with the interview
purple princess Happy Birthday!
Snowy Owl hope you find something at Tescos!
Should really get on here - got lots of bread to make and will make a start on the chutney if I can find cider vinegar in town - I don't want to have to go to Tescos again until after the weekend.
Finances need a bit of reorganising - FIL has offered me his motorbike at a fraction of the cost it's worth - I've had a bike licence for ages but haven't had one for a while since I've been paying for a train ticket to get me to work in London. I have a new job that starts much closer to home and a motorbike is an ideal way to get there, we just couldn't figure out how to raise the cash to get me one! Darling father in law has solved all those problems with a stroke - it means probably a bit less paid of the cc's next month to give him the cash but in the long run it will be much cheaper than getting the train or driving! Very excited - and also a bit nervous now! DH has been riding bikes for most of his life and will be sheperding me around for the first few weeks though.0 -
Monring all,
Welcome Mrs Mix I'm a fairly new one myself and everyone is very friendly.
Scottishspendaholic Welll done on getting an interview I hope it all goes well for you. Just be confident and smile a lot. If you have a panel to interview you make sure you look at each person and don't look at the floor.
Shortie The weeds in my garden have been looking after themselves fantastically this year. I'm sure yours will be fine for another day!
Roz Sorry to hear about your OHs Nana Hug for both of you. My Gran dies 3 years ago and to be honest it didn't hit me till the funeral itself. Until then I just continued on autopilot. Grief affects everyone in different ways.
Made a plum cobbler last night which was gorgeous but I don't think I had a big enough oven proof dish as it sort of jumped over the edges of the dish so it's a good job I've got a bottle of stardrops to clean the oven! I'll do that when I get home from work!
Managed to ride the horses as well last night so I went to bed exhausted and actually had a good nights sleep.0 -

No car news I've resigned myself to the fact its gone. Unfortuately i keep remembering things that our in it including my trusty Northface waterproof and wait for it girls my new Pukka Pad that I'd just started a new project at work in. The insurance company are being a pain currently cant even get them to start processing the claim they keep saying they will phone us back, will try them again in a minute.
Other plans for the day include finding the bus timetable and making some veg soup for lunch. Will pop over to the fly lady thread in a minute to get some inspiration.

Good luck vibes to SS for interview:T
Moggins, I suffered wth this when I was pregnant, I think it was the thought that I'd be seeing whatever I ate again very quickly:rolleyes: Smoothies were a good start, fruit & yogurt are full of nurients (sp?) & you can gradually make them thicker to try & build up your appetitie. Lucozade works really well if you need a instant energy hit but isn't long lasting unfortuantley. The only other thing I found helped was cooking my absolute favourite food, sometimes the smell would entice me to eat a bit ; in my case oriental duck;)
Well, had a quick whip round tidy up, I guess it's fly lady but to be honest I've never looked at that site or taken part in the challanges so don't know. Anyway, everything tidy& relatively clean. This morning am taking Spud to feed the ducks as I need to clear out the odds & ends from my bread box:cheesy:, then as soon as he goes down for a nap so will I:D Even though he is now a year old I'm still a big fan of the "they sleep you sleep" theory, especially when they are awake at 2am:rolleyes::p:cool:
Finished knitting Spuds Xmas stocking last night:T, now just want to embroider his name on then will be ready to sew it up, am a bit proud of myself as it's only the 4th thing I've ever knittied & I have't dropped a stitch:D
Must go now & phone my Nan& tell her I have had a email from my parents who are on a very long holiday in Canada, lucky things:p
Have a good day everyone:wave:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
(((((((((((((((Roz)))))))))))))
Thanks everyone. I will try the smoothies. I will have to dig out some recipes as I usually make a strawberry and banana one with yoghurt and I don't have any yoghurt or bananas in the house today.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
