Everyone is going to think me completely mad but I need some advice so I am asking here.
I've got a real problem with my appetite lately. I know I am hungry as my stomach is rumbling but I really don't feel like eating. Yesterday I went almost 24 hours between eating, I know this is causing my lack of energy and why I am not finishing everything on my flylady lists so I need to do something about it. How do I force myself to eat? I tried to have a digestive biscuit with my coffee yesterday morning but nearly choked on that as I really didn't want to eat it.
I even walked past all the lovely sandwich shops we had in town yesterday, tummy rumbling madly but still didn't fancy actually putting anything in my mouthOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning everyone else - :grouphug: to be distributed evenly around
Bad day here today. We lost OH's nana last night - had been expected but it's still upsetting. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in April - she had smoked for years and years but the doctors have admitted that although smoking was contributory, the actual cancer was a bit that they "missed" when giving her the all clear from breast cancer a few years ago, and by the time they re-diagnosed it was too late for treatment. OH is acting very normally about the whole thing, too normal in fact, and I think that at sometime soon it's going to hit him and he'll break down. He's at work today and I hope that if things do start to get to him he'll come home early
Also left in a dilema now as I am due to be going on holiday to Spain next Thursday. I don't know if I want to go now... Especially if I was to miss the funeral as I want to be there for OH but I also want to say goodbye myself
Loads to be doing today - my resit results from the exam I had to retake in August should be released today - if I passed I can re-enrol for my final year as normal but if I failed (again!!!) I will have to resit the module at night classes alongside my final year modules - something I really don't want to have to do! Also my friend is coming round to pick up her birthday present as she is moving to uni tomorrow, so I have to say goodbye to her which will be upsetting.
On the plus side, I spoke to my sister yesterday and she is really enjoying living in London. She has enrolled on her course and says that her halls are lovely so I feel a bit better knowing that she's happy as she's too far away for me to practically do anything if she isn't!! It is very wierd for me that my little sister has moved out of home - lord knows what it's like for my parents now with two of the three gone!
Anyway, I'm going to make a brew, then I have some washing to put away, and some ironing to do, and probably another load to put in, then going to tidy the kitchen and give the floors a bit of a sweep, then just tidy the rest of the flat to an acceptable level - if only to keep myself busy!
Sorry for the essay!!

Moggins - what about trying a smoothie or something similar? You'll be getting "food" and the nutrients but will be drinking so might be better? I know it's a temporary fix rather than a solution but it may help?0
-
Moggins have you tried making up a smoothie? I have probs with my appetite sometimes and with energy probs anyway I find a hm smoothie very easy to get down and very energising. I have also found that cinnamon is very hard to resist so cinnamon biscuits or cinnamon toast (very easy to make) often helps to get me eating again.
OH never has a problem eating no matter how ill he has beenhe just manages to force the food down!
Good luck hope you find something that works.
edited to send (((hugs))) to Roz sorry we cross posted! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I don't think you are mad to worry about this (although there is a little voice in me saying that I could do with such a problem!) If you could see me, you would know this is not something I have suffered from, so cannot really give any advice from experience.
But, with that proviso in mind, could you try something small & easy to eat that you really like? A scoop of posh ice cream, or a nice yogurt or something that fits the bill that you like? Or what about soup? You need your strength and going without food is okay for a short time, but not too long.0 -
Moggins
I would have said put it on your list of things to do so you do not miss it, but the fact that you clearly rejected something when you tried to eat points to something a lot deeper. Do you eat to reward yourself - so are you punishing yourself for not achieving? Can you tempt yourself with something? Otherwise, perhaps a chat with the GP?Everything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -
Moggins I had a cold a couple of weeks ago, it wasn't bad and only lasted a couple of days. But for around a week after, no appetite at all
Very tired but couldn't sleep properly, really odd. It must have been a weird virus or something. Anyway, I force-fed myself bananas, they're soft enough to eat without much effort LOL.
I ask the pharmacist for advice when I feel a bit ill, but not ill enough to go to the GP. The one in your road is excellent, I always use himI say always, it's not that often cos I'm hardly ever ill.

Morning everyone! Feeling absolutely kn*****ed this morning despite having an earlier night than usual. I hate this monthly thing, it really takes it out of me. My brain is still cotton wool. Roll on Friday because I will be feeling normal by then and we are having a day out to Skegness and collecting our new puppy (the breeders live near Skegness which is why we are going there first).
Moggins - I would go and see the doctor about your appetite. My 19 year old daughter has a terrible appetite and always has. She can miss meals and still isn't bothered and then when she does eat all she wants is crap like frozen pizza or chips. She went to see the doctor and he gave her tablets for her appetite but she is now on the pill anyway which makes her eat more than she would normally. I try not to think about what she is doing to herself by not eating anything much that is good for her - its frightening!
