  • :hello: Good morning, everyone!

Beautiful sunny day here in London. Thanks everyone for birthday wishes for my son, he's off work today and planning a visit to the aquarium, or possibly the zoo with his wife ( if I put DW you'll all imagine him dragging white goods behind him!!!:rotfl: ) and DS. My DGS is pretty obsessed with fishes!!

I've got a busy day planned so regretfully moggins, with a tear in my eye, I have to say no flylady for me until later or maybe not at all today! I HAVE to go to Bluewater for shopping, and then of course I have to make DS's hedgehog cake ( will he never be too old?) I dropped his presents over yesterday so he'd have them for first thing this morning, and you should have seen his face when there wasn't a cake!

Snowy, you're making me drool with descriptions of your jam!!! Can't remember the last time I had proper (ie HM ) jam. Mum used to make it sometimes but it's something I've never done. Got out of the habit of eating jam I suppose because even the dearest shop bought doesn't taste like it used to! (((hugs))) for the memories of Henry.

Kaz enjoy your morning before college, just don't use up all your energy reserves before you get there. But have to say you sound much happier and more positive since you started, which is brilliant!!! It's obviously what you needed. How's the fence?:D

Joannasmum can't remember if you've had your foot checked out or not? It sounds as if progress is being very slow, if you've not had it checked do you think you should. Certainly sounds as if you should be keeping off it as much as possible, I know that's damn near impossible with a little one, but you must try! Take care.

Well must crack on ((((hugs))) to all those in need, good luck to the flyers and enjoy your days everyone else!!

catowen just remembered!! Hope your inspection is today, best to get it over with, then it's done and dusted!!! You can't fail to pass with flying colours!!! From your posts it's obvious you're brilliant with the children and do so much with them, and they obviously love you right back!!:D

    Take care all! CMxx

edited to say I'm such a slow typist you'd answered my question by replying to Kaz, joannasmum!!

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Children now off to school, so am having breakfast and Some Peace! Know what you mean, Essex Girl about high school. However, my DS has turned from a boy who had no idea where anything was, to a high-school boy who has his bag packed the night before, uniform hung up, bed made, homework done as soon as he gets it.

Seraphina, enjoy Robbie. Friend of mine went at the w/e and loved it!

Joannasmum, is your ankle getting better?

Collected my composter yesterday, but I think they may have given me the wrong lid - I really can't get it to go on properly. It's got a ridge that is supposed to fit inside the main part - but it's a real pig to get in. Good as my intentions are, I can see the novelty wearing off pretty sharpish if I have to fight with this thing in the rain.... It's a 'rotol' composter - anyone else have any experience of this one? I've got the smaller one (220L) - perhaps they've given me the lid to the larger one (300L)?

Never used this type, but do love compost. If I needed another user name, it'll be Compost Queen! I do hear that the rolling bins are pretty good, though, but it does sound as though you have the wrong lid. Call them and ask them nicely if they'll deliver you a replacement.

  • Good morning everyone

Nice relaxing morning as DH volunteered to get the kids up and get DD1 to school. He's also taken DD2 so they can go shopping after, so Im taking advantage of the peace and quiet and having a browse with my cuppa. DS1 still asleep, WM is on again - Ive got around 4 loads to do today.
Playgroup this afternoon with DD2 and then Ive promised DD1 will do some crafty things after school. Going to check out the flylady thread cos my house is looking awful at the mo.

Hope you all have a great day :)

  • Just looked more closely at your avatar Snowy, and with him lying down like that, he's exactly like my Millie. She was all lovely and black and glossy, just like Henry!!

Dont know about the rest of you but DD going to high school is hard work, as Queenie said I am covering books and trying to help her organize her homework and her bag each day so no mad rush in the morning, guess it will take a couple of weeks to get into routine. Also everyday she is bringing home a request for payment for something or another!

This is what I used to hate. Me and my hubby were working when my kids were younger and as well as looking after the kids, housework, chores etc the school gives you more to do! My purse/hubby's wallet has to turn into a bottomless pit!

    Anyway, morning everyone!

Snowy - know what you mean about Henry. Ive never had cats but still remember each and every dog I have ever had. So upsetting when they go! That jam sounds lovely!

dlb - good luck to your hubby today!

Churchmouse - Happy birthday to DS!

Catowen My younger brother was at Oxford Uni a few years ago and used to ride a bike everywhere. I dreamt he was knocked over and killed one night and woke up crying. I had to ring him that day to make sure he was ok. Glad these are only dreams!

stressedout I can remember sitting at work thinking about all the jobs that needed doing at home and wouldn't have time to do when I got home. Frustrating!

Queenie Know what you mean about sending them off in their new uniforms. So smart and it brings a tear to your eye!

Shez - Looks like my hubbie was doing the same as yours yesterday! We have one conifer that was overgrown at the front of the house and about to touch our overhead cables so he went up the ladder to lop the top off (sounds easier than it is as theres quite a few branches to cut!)

My youngest daughter has gone off to college a bit happier this morning as they are actually going to start doing Childcare this week (last week was all about induction). She even caught the bus so I didn't have to take her! She probably can't catch the bus home though because she finishes at 4.15pm and the bus doesn't come until 5.00! :( I know she's 16 but she's still my baby and I worry about her as she's not very sensible!

B: Toast made with HM toast
    L: Prawn salad
    D: Pasta with HM sauce

Hubby got Friday off which is lovely as it makes it seem a shorter week and we are going to Skegness if the weather is nice to have a wander along the front and have breakfast somewhere. On the way back we are stopping off to collect our new baby (8 week old Pug that we are going to call Mindy!). Can't wait!
  • Morning folks

Back on the OS band waggon this morning - although it's my last week of not having to be dressed and out of the house at 8.30 to do the school runs, as DS2 doesn't start till 11.30 this week so DS1 is getting a lift in :D I could have done with an extra hour in bed today - bad night's sleep last night too. Woke up at 2.30 thinking I'd left a gerbil running around on the floor and wondering if i'd find him again. So I had to turn the lights on and check - both in the cage :rotfl: That was it for decent sleep after that!!

Will be putting WM on shortly so I can hang it out in the last (probably) of the hot weather. Need to make a bol sauce cos the boys are eating early tonight and then tackle the house :( After DS2 has been taken to school, it's another mammoth session at mum's house, cleaning/putting back everything cos the workmen/decorators have finally finished. So I will be doing a sort of FLC - but not at Chez Mouse :p

Then tonight will be mostly spent starting to write out the final draft for my business plan and "official" launch (Thanks Nels) Only have 16 pages of notes  Much as I need to do some true FLCing here, it may have to wait. However, I may set a timer and make myself get off my butt and away from the desk to do something and that's as good as anything, for exercise at least

Right, as has been said, that tempus is definitely fugitting :rotfl: Must have a quick shower and start the day properly.

    Morning All:hello:

(((Hugs))) to Snowy:grouphug:, I still thinlk about my Gomez who has been gone almost 16 months now & I still cry everytime I visit "his" tree in the garden. I honestly don't think I'll ever get over losing him so suddenly.

Hippo Birdy for yesterday to PP, hope you had a lovely day?:bdaycake:

Well I have the sort of headache which feels like there is a vice clamped around my head_pale_:tongue: but Spud is taking no prisioners & being as noisy as usual:rolleyes: I am hoping he goes down for a long nap:p

I was very good at the weekend & bought 5 christmas pressies:xmassmile, the most expensive was theatre tickets to take Hubby to see Salvas Snowshow but I bought the Wednesday matinee tickets which were £8 each cheaper than the evening ones:eek:, plus pants for hubby (what does he do with them all?), slippers for Spud & neighbours daughter but these will need to go back beacuse they are HUGE, plus some slipper sox for Spuds Xmas stocking:snow_laug, which I am now more than halfway through knitting myself & am very pleased with:D as it's only the 3rd thing I've ever knitted.:T

Dinner is in the SC ; Beef Burginion (sp?) so apart from needing to hoover up the remains of Spuds breakfast:p I hopefully have a quiet day.

    Have a good day everyone:wave:

  • Morning everyone

Catowen - hope the inspection goes ok - i am sure it will

DD2's football match went well they won 3-1. We cheered her on and she did really well. We went home for lunch afterwards and then went out blackberry picking and we got absolutely loads - i cant understand why people dont pick them!! Bumped into a friend on the way home and they asked what we were doing and i told them we were blackberry picking and their response was "oh can't be bothered with all that" so their loss, my gain!!!!

Got a huge pile of ironing to get through this morning and more washing to go out on the line - does it never end?

Hope everyone has a good day

  • Morning all,

All quiet on the Western front here - although I must do something about the house - forget FLC - I think I need a bulldozer

About to email dh so he has a messoge when he wakes up in San Francisco, plus I need to tell him all the details about the holiday accommodation for next year. After this year's disaster we have abandoned all ideas of abroad and are going for Galloway. Mum and Dad went to inspect the lodges on their way home yesterday and they look jolly nice.

Ds2 went to school moaning about a sore foot, knee, nose, eye and head - wonder if there's any bit of him he forgot...:D Off to buy vinegar and sugar - I am coming down in tomatoes so I think some chutney is on the cards. Will go to Stormont for blackberries tomorrow if the weather holds - I'm inspired by everyone. Tea will be based on what I find in the freezer :D

Snowy (and everyone else remembering pets) - hugs - it's 2 years this week that our Sooty went - a small scruffy terrier of 17 with a huge personality.

    Have a good day everyone
