soappie glad they have turned up and seem to be making a good start. I am sure it will be worth it. Glad you are also feeling a little better. Ohhh omelette sounds like a great idea but iu don't have a hob.
I am sure that when DH does our extension I will be a nervous wreck as well. I get stressed when he is just hanging up some blinds so who knows what I will be like.January Grocery 11/3740 -

Wow Scared1980 you've done really well to get your debts down by so much. I'm sure £9k will be a doddle for you after getting rid of £26k so quickly.
First job this morning was to rescue a fledgling goldfinch from the leanto attached to the kitchen. Poor thing must have been there since yesterday. Last evening I was coming in with the washing and heard a rustling but thought it was the mouse I'd seen the other day. This morning I heard it again, but with a definite fluttering sound. Poor thing had got its foot stuck somehow under a bottle of carpet shampoo! Anyway I took it outside and it just sat for ages in a corner. I was a bit worried about it being eaten by a cat so I picked it up to take it near the bird table in case its parents were around and luckily by then it had recovered enough to fly away.
My second job this morning was to phone the local Environmental Health people. My DH yesterday found 10 sheets of corrugated asbestos stuffed behind the oil tank (out of sight out of mind presumably) and it is crumbling away. Apparently it is classed in the same league as a biological hazard and has to be removed properly by people wearing special suits and breathing masks. I'm so angry at the owners just leaving it there like that .
I've started on the kitchen, and also need to do the lounge as I didn't get a chance to yesterday with everyone being off. Half term starts on Thursday and is on all next week. Bloomin' bikes are all over the place atm because it's TT practice week this week and the actual races next week. I hate it and wish we could afford to go away while it's on.
Other jobs I need to do today are to write out a meal plan (I've been meaning to do this for weeks :rotfl:), sort out my material stash and order some patterns off the internet, sort out photos and chuck out the rubbish I've been keeping for 30 years :eek:0 -
Still quite grey and damp here in Kent. Up early as usual, but sat reading magazines, and then on here as can't be bothered to get going.
I have a trip to the dentist's too kaz, for DS2. He has faulty enamel, and cracked a tooth just before the weekend, and has an appointment late morning. I have a feeling that they'll take it out...not going to be a nice morning for him - I'd almost rather have it done myself. I'm also a little apprehensive, as our previous dentist whom I trusted has retired and this is a new one we haven't been to yet.
Thank you again for all the birthday wishes and cakes - I like the virtual calorie free ones! The real chocolate fudge one wasn't bad either...:D
scared - ah, I see! You've done fantastically well clearing that lot - you'll have to change your name to 'Brave and fearless and very nearly debt-free!'
michelle - I do hope you're feeling better this morning - on days like that I give myself bribes - ten minutes flying, I can have a coffee/pc time/read...
hi dougierobino - have you done all those things on that monster list - or just removed them altogether??!
Ok, must go make phone calls...and wash up.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

The monster list is still in action but has decreased quite a lot and there are about 5 things that are half done because OH has been plugging away at them gently. It will shrink dramatically when we get the storage and man with a van booked which OH assures me we can do this week - then I might feel brave enough to put it up again! Thanks for asking.
Just spent half an hour pairing up OHs sock mountain (he keeps buying more and then leaving them seperately about the house when he takes them off) but stupidly left the drawer on our bed. DD's new game? - Unpair them all again! What's that quote about tidying houses with chidren being like shovelling snow?!

dougierobino re the socks. I am not quite sure what my DD does with her socks. I know that when we come home she normally has a pair on but at the moment we appear to have about 10 socks and not a single one match! Whereas DS seems to have so many socks he would probably have enough to last until Christmas.
scared well done on the debt reduction.
soappie It is looking good. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you! Can't be any worse than it was down here yesterday.
DD is laying on DS's pillow at the moment . She looks so sweet. Maybe that is because she is quiet
