then there won be any..
People might try and be helpful and do their own,,, but then there will
be so many bumping the board that the BG's will end up deleting them as they will get fed up..

I know im kind of new.. But i have contributed quite a bit to comps... (well i think i have anyway)

I'm down to do comps ending lists for 15th and 31st, not sure who is organising the lists but if anyone wants to step in and do them for me I would be grateful.

I put myself up to do them just because I am an eejit and like to help out and do things like that but I feel with the opinions I have on the subject it would be best for someone else to do them, I don't want to be contradicting myself by posting up a comps ending list when I really don't agree with it.

Its quite sad that its got like this and that some lovely members of the board now feel like they can't input anymore because of the hassle they've recieved over comps ending

I have to admit I agree with you xoxlauraxox - I'm down to do one later this month but I'm regretting it now. I'm going to do mine anyway though because I feel I should (assuming they are still around by then!).

Earlier this year when the lists where pulled, it seemed a blessing as there was so much chaos and way too many lists floating on this board, There were lists for a week or two away up!, Compers poll then helped sway opinion and lists came back, more organized and more control, but that constantly slips as not everyone understands the conditions we had to abide by. Its a shame as alot of people use the lists, but there have been several occasions since when chaos has descended over the lists, so maybe we have had our attempts to try and should just admit defeat and get the board back to how it was, its not as if we havent all tried to make it work, it just doesn't seem feasible on a board of this scale with such a high turnover of users. xxxxxx

i wont be sad to see them go. they've caused rifts and stressed me out trying to organise them.
maybe if they did go, gentle reminders could be put on posts where the correct end date format isnt used as sorting by thread title is how i compiled the lists, so users could do it for themselves, but ONLY if one uniform format is used. simply leaving off the "E" or the space completely alters where the post will be placed in terms of sorting.
hopefully regular posters would get used to it and the occasional comp by a newbie not in format wouldnt mess it up too much

ok how about this then (as I am only 2 of 4 "active" BG's out of 4 on at the moment) I don't do a poll as it seems that it could cause more conflict, just wait til the holiday period is over and have a chat with the other BG's and maybe put the comps ending thread on a "suspension" for the month of September and see how it goes?

I feel the same as you both (xoxlauraxox and Splodz) I am down for doing 2 this month but I really don't want to, I just feel I have to but not because of the people who rely on it but because of those who will post up a list (or 3) and the nastiness it causes when the lists are late or some comps missing due to the different formats used in putting the end date on them.

to those in charge, if you do a poll, please make it so you can see who voted each way, that way you could weight the votes by how much of a contribution people make to the board and that would make it fairer and it would hopefully stop a lot of new voters for the thread making the regulars and oldies feelings not heard.
