Ahhh - Westcot, my specialist subject. I spent many hours on the phone to this bunch of cowboys - In the end I actually spoke to their MD as I was that peeved with them - they are a bunch of crooks and their call staff are rude and un-trained. In fact I need to call them again this week as they have failed to respond to my last letter, can't wait as I love a good argument.

i have read a lot of post here about wescot - there is a webpage that will give you some help on how to deal with wescot - http://www.wescotdebt.co.uk/

the site is completly free and i hope it helps you a little bit.

Would this website be run by Wescot by any chance? Seems very pro wescot to me

NO. Wescot did not sponsor this in anyway and i think they do not even know about it.

I just tried to be fair to everyone, thats all.

I do hope it helps someone - there is a lot of info and more will be coming.

I can see where you're coming from only allot of people wont like the tone of it very much, especially the ones that have been victimised and bullied by Wescot - the website basically says that the people phoning wescot wern't happy because they wernt told what they wanted to hear.

From what i have read, that is true - the majority of people who discuss wescot online are unhappy with the fact that they have a debt. And its normal. I am like that myself.

On the other hand, http://www.wescotdebt.co.uk/ was designed not to support this unhappy bunch and not to slag off wescot, both of these are pointless, - it was designed to help those, who start dealing with a company and provide more info.

I tried to base it on facts, not opinions, thats why there is a lot of info, ranging from your rights to find out what wescot is talking about straight to effects on your creditfile if you received a letter for someone else. And i will not discuss "red nasty letters", because its useless.

Anyway, there are plenty of websites to say what you think of wescot, but i think https://www.wescotdebt.co.uk will help people to deal with wescot.

    :)

...although i am thinking to add a dynamic page where people can "write about wescot in 100 words" - will be interesting to read and helpful to make a faq section.
  • quote from one of the divs who works for wescot
This is what one supposed employee of Wescot thinks of his "customers" (taken from blagger.com) :-

"I have worked for Wescot now for 2 and a half years and I have not heard so much rubbish in my life. First of all, you all complain about the 0870 numbers that are used. You call these numbers when you want to apply to get the money then you default on the paymennts, but complain when you are asked to call these to negotiate debt repayment.
Do you think that the major blue chip organisations would use Wescot to collect their debt if we were a cowboy outfit? NO!!! We are regularly monitered on our calls and are also audited on our account work. Most importantly we are also assessed by our clients on many different areas.
So when you want to complain about us, just remember that we are the good, credit paying and credit worthy citizens and you are a bunvh of useless a***holes!!!!!!"

Note the wonderful standard of English and grammar!

THIS SHOWS YOU HOW RUDE THEY REALLY ARE, I AM COMPLAINING TO TRADING STANDARDS ABOUT THEM PEOPLE LIKE THAT SHOULDNT BE WORKING WITH CUSTOMERS. THIS IS THE MOST DISGUSTING BUNCH OF !!!!!! AROUND. THEY ARE RIP OFFS
  • by them what do i do next:confused:
  • As from April 6th 2007, changes in the consumer credit act means the third person to complain to the Financial Ombudsman about Wescot Credit Services Ltd (regardless of if your right or wrong) will result in Wescot getting Charged £400 per complaint received.
Maybe they may change there ignorant harassing and threatening tactics, so if you get up on a Monday morning with a hangover, complain to the ombudsman that it was Wescot Credit who gave you it hahahahaha
Always compromise with them, yawn and say tell you what, pay me £200 for answering this call or am complaining…..

These people really are complete and utter scum. I have been trying to resolve an issue with them since the beginning of Jan, about a debt that is not even mine!

The https://www.wescotdebt.co.uk does not seem to be working at the mo?
    Gone ... or have I?
