I machine wash my wired bras by putting them into a mesh laundry bag with a t-shirt folded around for extra protection. (1 bra and t-shirt in each bag.)
The mesh bags are approx A5 paper size and I've had them for many, many years.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0 -
I always use a washing machine on a low spin - however tempting it is to save on drying time, high spins just wreck anything delicate - and then air-dry. My clothes last for years and still look nearly new.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Always hand wash , pat excess water out and drape over towel rail. Always dry for the morning and last ages.
Some people I know get in the shower with bra on, soap, rinse and take off to dry while in shower. Claim it saves time.0 -

I dry mine on the clothes horse.
Don't fold them over using the middle of the front of the bra as the middle bit gets stretched.
Fasten the hooks so it's round the clothes horse rail then turn it round so the hooks are at the top.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I get mine via the hospital as I had a mastectomy 4 years ago and I found that the breast care nurses are brilliant for getting them for me and I get a good discount as well.I have to have 'front loaders' asI have trouble with my right arm doing them up otherwise.I chuck them into my machine on a 30 minute wash with some sensitive washing powder as I have to be careful with my skin as its not happy with ordinary powders ( Bio stuff turns me bright red) even my ordinary clothes I have to be careful what I use .I picked up a tea towel at DDs last week that had been washed in Bold and within minutes my hands were scarlet and itching like mad It does go off but I have to hold my hands under a cold tap to cool them down and get the chemicals of my skin. Its odd as its only been like this since I had chemo before that I never had a problem .Still i'm still alive and kicking which is the main thing
I shall be ordering some new ones next moth when I go for my three year check-up so there goes best part of £90 I get four for that price which sound dear but they are worth their weight in gold as the breast care nurse measures me to make sure they will fit properly as badly fitting ones will give me back ache and the prosthesis has to fit exactly inside .0 -
I put mine inside the pillowcases. Do the same with tights in the winter as well.
But don't put tights in the same pillowcase as your white bras0 -
When a chum of mine bought a couple of (relatively inexpensive) bras at Rigby & Peller they advised her to hand-wash them once a week. Considering the price some of them are these days I certainly wouldn't put them in a machine, especially wired ones. Now, the cheapo, cotton wire-free ones I got in Asda go in a mesh bag as they aren't precious0

I LOVE this!! Brilliant, I'm totally going to try it. Hand-washing bras is one of my most hated chores. I'm sure they won't mind being washed in shower gel :rotfl:0 -
I use mesh laundry bags too and it seems to reduce the frequency of being poked in the armpit with a sharp wire compared to washing them unprotected! Can't be doing with handwashing, though - if I owned handwash-only bras, they'd spend their entire lives in the laundry basket under the dry-clean-only jumpers.0
