On a related subject, how do you stop the padding in swimsuits / bikini tops from folding itself up and / or turning itself upside down (or both) when in the wash?
There's one cossie I've taken the padding out because I got so fed up of trying to manipulate it back into the right place and orientation!
Wondering if it's worth putting a couple of stitches in where the back of the 'pocket' opens out, once I've worked out which way is up and which way is out - what do you think? will the padding just tear?
BTW I always put my cossies in a mesh bag these days. I put bras in one and expensive knickers / cossies / tights / silk scarves - basically anything a tad delicate - in another.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I've stiched padding into place before, the ones I've stitched have been 'hemmed' so I wasn't too worried about the padding ripping through. I only put in just a few little stitches and it saves sooo much time and hassle - trying to get padding back into some things is like the krypton factor!
I have to say that the mesh bags I bought about five years ago have probably been one of my best OS buys ever. Anything slightly delicate goes in one for the wash and I reckon it's saved me a fortune in tights. I like patchwork and I find they're great for washing charm pieces etc before you use them, it saves them from being plastered all over the machine lol.0 -

The wire can come out of the mesh bag, it has happened to me and had to call out the engineer as it ceased up the machine.0
