    hi all
just a quick update on my dad, they confirmed at lunchtime it was a heart attack and quite a big one but they don't think it has done too much damage. they think one of the arterial grafts from his previous bypass (almost 10 years exactly) has collapsed. he is off to st thomas' tomorrow for angiogram and if they find the blockage possible angioplasty if they can fit him on the list. so stressful times ahead.
thank for all the support. xx

  • Toni - just a quick post to say hope all goes well at St Thomas's. At least they know what they are dealing with now. Will be thinking of you.

I made the sw quiche Rockie and it was lovely! It made quite a big quiche and I ate about a third of it with salad and a small piece of dry ciabatta. I only had spring onions to put in it but added some mixed herbs and ground black pepper to the mix and it was fab!

Hoep you are all having a nice evening.

  • Evening everyone.

Thought I'd just poke my head in as I haven't been able to post since Friday.

Have really not been very good at all in the last few days, especially tonight. It was my dad's birthday and we all got together for a take-away. I did try to watch how much I was eating, but it's hard when the food is so yummy - and then there was all the wine!!!

Oh well, there's always the rest of the week to try and recover some of the loss.

Toni , thinking of you and your dad.

I'll try to get back to posting properly tomorrow.

    morning
going to be spending today waiting around for my mum to call and say what is going on. if they decide to operate today (unlikely but possible) it will be a dash up there for me  god knows when or what i will be eating today. breakfast seems to be the only meal i can be sure of. dinner is a total mystery. i have some steak in the fridge and i will try to cook it for OH but i just don't feel like eating
i have lots i probably should be doing but i'm just concentrating on keeping the house tidy at the moment so at least i know that is done. everything else can wait.

    hope you're all well

Sending lots of :grouphug: to you & yours Toni:o

And easy enough for others to say, but please take a little care of yourself too, cuz your folks will need your strength very soon....

About this steak for hubby--could you wrap it in some pastry & make a wellington pie or summat, if it needs to be cooked today? You can whip up a bit of pastry & cook the steak to help keep you busy, then all hubs has to do is chow down on a lush pie when he gets home.

    Morning all :)

Hopefully today my appetite will be a little less agressive than the past few days. I seem to be having really rabid cravings and I think it may be because I am not having enough protein compared to carbs so my blood sugar sky-rockets then crashes. Will try to rectify that over the next few days and get back into the habit of having a salad with chicken, tuna, cheese or egg for lunch instead of rice or bread.

B: Porridge made with skimmed milk and water
L: Jacket spud (have one to use up) with cottage cheese and salad
    D: HM Singapore chow mein

S: Yoghurt and fruit if I need it, might have a skinny latte later if my friend is in today.

I managed to do 20 minutes of Wii boxing and tennis last night and it damn near killed me! My arms feel like lead weights today which really shows how little exercise I usually do. Never mind, Alton Towers today and it will probably pee down
