Good morning everyone, I'm hoping I can join in with you all. I've read back a good few pages and it's lovely hearing all your different tips, ideas - and successes, too! I've got a 3 year old and haven't really ever got back in shape after having him. I eat *reasonably* well, but don't exercise, but I'm never going to have another baby if I don't lose some weight! (I don't actually want one for a couple of years, but if I can lose weight, I'm going to want to enjoy it for a while!).

I'm mildly agoraphobic so don't do much walking - and when I do, I've got the 3 year old with me, so it's a slow stroll, stopping to see leaves as we go! I do have a huuuuuge allotment though and work out there as often as I can. Hubby does most of the digging, but I still get a decent amount of exercise from there. Oh yes, and I'm vegetarian, and am aiming at being almost-self-sufficient as soon as we can. Sadly, I don't get to do shopping very often, as I can't go out, so I have to do online shops - and at the moment we've got very little in the house so I have no idea what we''re eating today - but for breakfast I had a slice of HM bread with linseeds in, with a small bit of HM rhubarb & strawberry jam :)

    Nice to 'meet' you all!

    hiya clairefun

    nice to meet you

you have just descibed me, well what i used to be like, i am also mildly agrophobic and hardly ever wnt walks and if i did it was with the kids, know what you mean about going slow;)

recntly had a bit of a health scare though, so that has made me realise if my lifestyle doesnt change then it will only got worse, so now im taking walks everyday, have ditched fizzy juice and drink loads of water, feel tons better and have more energy.

slowly getting there, although can only go shopping if someone is with me

also dont eat chocolate as i found sugar made me worse for some reason

this is a great support thread, so with our help/advice you'll get there, also got a 3 year old and dont plan on having any more, got 2 other boys, couldnt manage anymore:eek:

    Mornng people :hello:
After last night's positive post I had another bad night  don't know what's up with me at the moment  We go on holiday in a couple of weeks and I really want to be under 11 stone..............currently wavering around there but I'm bound to have a gain this week

Boiled eggs and soldiers for brekkie, just had 2 tiny bananas, lunch is pasta salad and fruit for later.
Tea will be stuffed mushrooms I think........and I'm going for a swim at lunchtime.

Kyle - Walking - I believe you should do 10,000 steps a day to lose weight:eek: , why not get a pedometer (I got a good one from Lloyds chemist for a couple of quid) so you know how many steps you're doing, thee's a few of us on here that have them and find them useful.
I swim a couple of times a week for half an hour a time and I also do 2 dance classes but I've always done the walking and swimming even when I was at my heaviest.

    Clairfun - we've got a lotty and I'm veggie :D Good fun isn't it ;)

Kyle - dont panic - I managed to get to my target weight without too much serious exercise:D

I dont like the gym so get all my exercise by doing lots of cleaning(at home and work), mowing the lawns(got a big garden), walking into town(takes 15 mins each way)and dog walking(bout half an hour but nothing too strenuous and about 4 or 5 times a week due to work)
I used to go to tap classes once a week but these are infrequent now!
the pedometer is a good idea so you can see if you're doing enough but with 2 young children I'd say you probably were!:D

    Hi everyone,

Kyle - I go for a power walk nearly every day, about 40 mins but I focus more on the intensity of the walk rather than the length/time. When I have time I do my callanetics video as well.

Food today is going to be quite tight as I want to have a little treat whilst watching The Apprentice final!

B - shredded wheat & semi skimmed, apple

    L - fruit & yoghurt

D - tuna salad, preferably alone but with a baked potatoe if really hungry

Snack - cheesecake over the apprentice!

    Have a great day all

Kyle, I don't do ANY exercise at all :o I loose weight fairly steadily and I am sure I would lose more if I got active but I just never seem to find the time. I am in work by 7.30am and home by 8pm by which time I am starving so the thought of putting off eating my dinner to do half an hours exercise just doesn't appeal. Plus if I eat late, I don't sleep properly so I seem to be stuck in a rut.

I hate the gym (one at work is minging) so going during my lunch hour is not an option. I did try to go out for a walk at lunctime but leaving my lab work unattended for that amount of time isn't possible either.

Must try and do more when I get some as there are some days when I am home by 6pm so I could do something then. I think its a case of forcing myself even when I just want to collapse in the chair!

    B: Muesli and banana
L: Roast chicken, salad and mustard pitta
    D: Chilli, rice and salad

S: Nothing, still resisting the cakes that are in our office :j
