Hi emtpypurse, I try not to buy them. I find if I buy a big bag of sweets I'll eat them all (even a whole party size bag of Haribo), if I buy a small pack of them I seem more likely to make them last. But I also find that when I'm down I'll treat myself to the smallest bar that still seems a treat - whether it's a curly wurly (I love caramel) or a pack of cherry drops.
Or better still I get fruit I really love instead - eg cherries that are really expensive but I love almost as much as chocolate but don't buy very often anymore because of the price. Or smoked salmon sandwich or expensive jam to go on some toast, or something that's a real treat but not chocolate or cake
Hope that helps. The real big thing for me is not to start eating it or even not to buy it.
Anyway - food today is porridge with tinned cherries (Sainsbugs do pitted cherries in juice instead of in syrup and they are very nomnomnom and not very sweet and suddenly I quite like porridge again).
Snacks: a couple of slices of malt loaf, an apple
Lunch - jacket and beans (had half a tin of beans left so may as well use them up)
Tea - Gammon steaks and veg.
PS. In fact I had a dream about cherries - I went to M&S with a labrador (I don't even have a dog) and saw they had Rainier cherries (which are yellow-blush colour and taste like honey, are absolutely lovely and cost a blinkin fortune) - and I ran up to the shelf grabbed a bag and as I picked on up I realised they were lychee and I was disappointed. I like lychee but they just don't come anywhere close to cherries, especially not the expensive Rainier ones

Glad you are Ok newlywed
things like rocket will proabably be happier in your garden.. it doesn't take much to make the little blighters bolt  ... i have had one lot of spinach start to bolt -so i used it all and am setting some more later...
Most things want the warmth rather than full sun so most things should be fine :T
Emptypurse... im with newlywed.... I didn't buy it when i first started eating better ..then i could only eat it if i got my bum off to the shop to fetched it..an hours walk in total. Now i don't very often fancy junk.... fruit is my thing too
as long as i have plenty in i will pick that 1st every time.
What are your fave healthier foods? could you keep a small selection in so you always have something nice.
Its that good old viscious circle again
If you feel down and reach for junk you feel worse so eat more ... once you get plenty of fresh healthier stuff in your system you will hopefully feel a little better and choose fresh stuff again..
Hope you are feeling better soon...come on... you CAN do this :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Afternoon all
Been AWOL for the weekend but am back now. GLLT - can you kick my rear as well to get me going. I am very positive today - have got the weekend out the way and raring to go. Today have had:
B - Muesli, yog and fruit
L - Salad with some cottage cheese (posh Losely stuff as well), bit of coleslaw, some new pots and a spoon of couscous. Also a yog, peach and small orange.
D - probably a pasta bake with left over bacon from yesterdays joint.
Have my swimming stuff with me to go straight after work.
Weekend was nice - Saturday went out with SIL for dinner then to the pics to see SATC - loved it - we laughed, we cried - it was fab!:j
Sunday was a quiet day - DH (who is my toyboy - 34 to my 40) came back from his bike show and we had yummy bacon joint with jersey royals and salad, followed by Kentish strawberries and cream:T :T
Am delighted to see all the losers over the weekend - am hoping to be back with you Friday when I next weigh.
Have a good afternoon all

Hi All,
Well done on the weight loss DroopyDrawers and anyone else I may have missed.I am going to be optimistic and say I will aim for 7lb for JIJ challenge.I say optimistic as I have been losing at a much slower rate than that - only 11lbs since January - but I am going to do my best to increase it. I shall aim to drop my calories from 1400 per day to 1250 per day.
I haven't been out for a proper walk yet today, but did walk up to the doctors to renew a prescription which is around 20 minutes of brisk walking. I shall ring my dog walking friend later to see if she fancies a longer walk.
I've just put on another batch of yoghurt as have almost finished my first lot, which was gorgeous. I must work out the calorie count for it now as I've just been going by the bought Greek yoghurt I've been using. I am going to try making it with skimmed milk next time, but still had some semi-skimmed to use up.
I was up at 5.30 this morning to get an article written and emailed in but went back to bed at 7.30 for a couple of hours. I still feel a bit sleepy now though.
B: Fruit and fibre mixed with muesli, raisins and skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: Bowl of tomato soup that needed using up, slice of wholemeal bread. Raspberries with 2 tsps of HM Greek style yoghurt.Egg, SW chips, mushrooms. Orange.
Snack: Banana.

Well done all the losers!
I am very envious of the potio and apotment folk, wish I had a bit of outside space to join you - don't even have a windowsill!
Doing well today. Porridge for brekkie and just had a really nice salad for lunch - baby spinach leaves topped with sweetcorn, roast veggies and parmesan shavings in a honey and mustard dressing. No idea what is for dinner as yet. Its a yucky day so a curry may be nice.
Weighing day tomorrow and not fancying my chances!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

Hey Rose
I'd be really wary of dropping to 1250 and increasing your exercise - 1200 calories is around the amount they term 'starvation' level - your body goes uh oh, thinks it's a famine and actually starts to store weight as opposed to losing it. If you are regularly exercising you may need to actually eat a little bit more in order not to screw your metabolism up. Check out what the Daily Plate says your calorie intake should be, I know a lot of people stall their weight loss and think they need to cut more when actaully they need to eat more. Sounds mad but apparently it works. https://www.thedailyplate.com. Good luck xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%
