Have just found Caterina fantastic months list (after much trawling through old thread), so here it is:

    Jubilant in January
    Fabulous in February
    Magnificent in March
    Amazing in April
    Marvelous in May
    Just great in June
    Joyous in July
    Alluring in August
    Supercharged in September
    Old-style-beauties in October
    Naughty (but Nice) in November
    Definitely the Best in December

So that makes us Just Great in June, whoopy :T

  • Suzid - go for it! I don't think the stuff you bought sounds too young at all! I know that when I get my weight off I am going to buy all kinds of "young" stuff!!

Frogga - what's happened? don't let it make you eat - you KNOW you will feel worse in the long run...... I'll stay on here for the next half hour - get in touch!

    Morning all!

I've lost 1 pound, hurrah! Not sure how to be good today though - am having lunch out with work (in a pub) and am at Bruce Springsteen tonight and not sure what to do food wise...

    But so far:

B: Blueberry Wheats cereal w/ semi skimmed
    S: apricot
L: PROBABLY morroccan chicken salad if we got to the nice pub - which is just a marinated chicken breast with a normal rocket and spinach salad. Will go without the starch and bread and have a yoghurt afterwards when back. Or maybe a flatbread.

No idea about dinner, will be as good as can be though. Tomorrow OH's parents are visiting, so HM pizza (with HM red pepper salsa, which I made this morning - have dyed my nails orangey by peeling the red peppers, damnit!) - and something lighter for dinner. Haven't had any alcohol yet this week, but will later on ;)

Have a lovely day and weekend you all xxx

Aw frogga - hate it when I fall out with hubby. But don't let him win and drive you to the cupboards. Stay strong, if you can beat this without eating then you know you can beat anything.

I bought some Abel & Cole basic meusli. It is very good and good on calories.

I first mixed it with some stewed Rhubarb (btw, the tightwad tip about adding half a teasp bicarb to save sugar really works, it cuts the acid) which was very good.

I'm now on making a basic fruit salad for brekkie and it works in that too.

Dh puts it on his shredded wheat.

    Quick one for me

Ate like an absolute PIGGIE last night when I got home from swimming, I mean I troffed about 800 calories at nearly midnight - bad bad Nixy.

Anyhoo off to look round a gym at lunchtime, it was a toss up between buying weights or joining a gym but gym prices ahve put me off - however found a gym that specialises in weight lifting without the pool, fancy bikes, yoga studios etc - so gonna go check it out to see if me and it could get on.

To anyone who has STS have a think about all this
    1. Your hormones are !!!!!!s. If you're due on then you can retain up to 4lbs
    2. You could be dehydrated - if you don't drinik enough water your body holds onto it, if you drink enough and keep hydrated your body regulates itself and wont hold any excess water poundage.
    3. Have you been exercising much? When you do your muscles can hold onto water and increase your weight disproportionately
    4. Eaten too much salt? That is a KILLER for water retention.
    5. Did you weigh at the same time of day? You can whang on POUNDS during the day that can make your weight loss seem really inconsistent - first thing in the morning, nekkid, don't eat owt, make sure you've done your Number 1s and 2s if you can

Seriously, make a pledge to yourself today that you're gonna take your measurements. Measure yourself once a month and bask in how good it feels. The scales can be a notoriously bad measure as to how you are really doing
, but inches lost, wooooooo they are such a buzz. And I bet you lot are losing yards of the stuff.

    SarkySarn, I just got preachy again, didn't I? :D

Have a great day everyone - hey Frogga, wanna come down the gym with me? We can snigger at all the boys in their short shorts :D

I'm back after a few tears but no stuffing ;)

Basically there is a family get together at the end of June and I told Mr Frog I didn't want to go and he got cross. I dont want to go because the last time we all saw each other was 2 years ago and I was thin  SO, the same old story, stopping myself going to things because of my weight.

Mr Frog said I was using it as an excuse and being selfish and he would go without me then. He got cross.

We just chatted on the phone and made up. He said I worry about it and no one else does. He said no one even notices my weight but I know they do. Especially the ladies. I think his brothers feel sorry for him. He said they all feel sorry for me cause he's a !!!!!! ;)

I normally like family events and I'll chat to anyone but having to go when I'm still fat will be torture. It's a picnic too so I'll have to eat in front of people! Then I think they think I shouldn't be eating as I've obviously had enough already

Today I have had special k with skimmed milk for brekkie. Off for lunch in a bit am going home so not tempted by all the yummy cakes in town so will have a sandwich (not sure what kind yet) with some fruit after. Then for dinner tonight will do me and bf quorn sausage salad. Am also going to run on the treadmill hopefully.

I think for the June challenge I will aim to lose 7 pounds, want to lose a stone by end of July when we go on hols so I thought that was a good target!

    Good morning all :hello: .
Great Big CONGRATS to Frogga and MRSM, blooming Marvelous!!!:T
Hello to all you newbies :hello: , aren't we doing well to attract so many new converts.

I've been having pangs of doubt about whether I should be buying 'younger' items at my age, 55 going on 35!! Bought a bolero cardie to go with a couple of dresses yesterday, and a handbag plus dangling keyring to go on it, then started thinking 'will I look silly with these at my age'. It's just so wonderful to go into shops and get nice things after all the years avoiding them like the plague. Felt so big and ugly just grabed mens clothes that I could hide in. DH is (don't faint!) 16yrs younger than me, so I'm surrounded by youngster and lose track of my own years. We've been together 20yrs so we must be doing something right.:D YES I'm also not shrinking back like I used to so have to hide the bingo wings, saggy thighs and wobbly tum:eek: . Oh joy :rotfl:

At last the runner beans have been given their freedom and are in the great outdoors. Planted them out yesterday and actually caught a slug on one of the sprouts:eek: . Anyway their time is numbered as the plot got treated yesterday so fingers crossed. Sorry can't remember who said about garlic spray but I've noticed that the sprouts planted by the garlic are fine but the ones closest to the potatoes are suffering, so me thinks next year I'll be planting loads of the stuff :D .

Must drag myself off and get thing done. Big hugs to all those not feeling happy at the mo for various reasons. Hope you all feel better soon.
    Suz

Hi Suz - don't feel bad about buying clothes you feel good in. I have a very dear friend who is over 60 but she looks fantastic and makes me feel like a frump (I am 40). She always dresses well but appropriate to her age, she goes to the gym and watches her diet (and puts me to shame;) ) And I can only imagine how wonderful you feel now you can buy the nice stuff and not the oversize mens clothes. Go for it:D

And I was the one who reported on the garlic spray for slugs. Not tried it yet but have got the essential oils at home to use. Hopefully this weekend.

    Have a good day.

Frog - walk away from the food - the fridge is not your friend.
