    Hi all,

Been busy today but was gutted to weight this morning and find I had STS even though I ate well all week. Never mind, its a long road ahead so it won't always be easy.

B: Strawberries and nectarines with plain yoghurt
    L: Salad with king prawns
D: Falafel in wholemeal pitta with lots of salad, HM tomato salsa, HM tzaziki and a tablespoon of coleslaw

S: Bought a small bag of Malteasers but not sure if I will have them today

I will be making coconut and mango trifles later for tomorrow so I will have to try and stop myself 'tasting' things as I go along

    Hi all,

((((HUGS)))) for Cranky40, you sound as though you need them. Hope everything seems better for you soon.

I forgot to put the pork in the slow cooker this morning so now we are having a herby veg and pasta concoction that i made ages ago and froze with jacket potatoes. The pork will have to wait.
In fact i think i`ll cook it overnight tonight and then slice and freeze most of it as DH goes away for a few days tomorrow so there`s only me and if i don`t freeze it i`ll pick away at it until there`s nothing left :o

Off to put the potatoes in now so that they will be ready for when we come back from walking our houndies.
    Catch ya later peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Just a quick one to anyone who is depressed about STS - I've just measured myself and I have lose 5.5 inches in the last month. My weight loss is really slow but something is happening underneath the wobble so I am really happy about that. Biggest loss is 1.5 inches off both my bum and my tum - I don't do hips, I do boobs, waist, tum (for my big sticky out tum), bum and thighs. So even if your weight isn't shifting it doesn't mean things aren't happening for you. Get out your tape measure and give it a go! xx

    *cough, splutter sniff*

Evening folks:hello: We didn't get to the lotty, OH woke up streaming with a cold and now I'm getting it, achy body, sore throat.................and taking the grandkids out tomorrow, should be fun  NOT!
Spent the day pottering instead with a little wander to the shops and the garden centre.

Lunch was a packet of past n sauce with a little jacket spud and then we had the SW pizza for tea with salad, followed by strawberries and raspberries drizzled with balsamic syrup - lush

Taplady - The pizza was nice - very tasty but definitly not a pizza substitute!!!
I usually make up polenta as a base, much more like the 'real' thing and still free on SW. I have to say though the tomato sauce was delicious :T I substituted a tin of tomatoes and half a pack of cherry toms - I have better things to do than peel 14oz cherry toms  and of course a tsp of sugar for the sweetner. I'll make the sauce again and put it on a polenta topping next time!

I'm miffed 'cos Casualty isn't on tonight  Blummin Eurovision instead  so I might treat myself to a film if I can find anything worth watching....OH suggested the Hatton fight:rolleyes: MEN!!

Possibly see you tomorrow depending on what time I get back :A

Ahh another Cazzie Fan:D Always seems to be the programmes I like that get kicked around for utter tripe.....Holby City; Casualty; Doctors....

I was going to say about the inches too, cuz I noticed yesterday that my work trousers are nowhere near as tight around my tree trunks:T AND that was whilst I was sitting down too:p

I hadn't clocked that we've only seven days left of the May Challenge:eek: so I'd better get the offspring to hide the cornflakes:o

Good Luck Peeps & Peepessess....We WILL defeat the Nibblist---& we WILL do it together.

I was in Borders with DS earlier on today. There was an AWT book on half price, less sugar puds etc. It seems that all the recipes have artificial sweetener in them. I was soooooo disappointed.

There was a nice book there called The Vegan Cupcake, which looked nice, lovely pix, but I resisted temptation.

Dinner is ready all but spuds & broccoli and putting out the prawn/egg starter, but dh and walking buddy are nowhere to be seen. Probably in the pub! Very thirsty business walking I've heard!

thanks Rockie - dont want to appear thick but what's polenta? have heard the name but havent a clue what it is!:o

I enjoyed my tea of SW egg and chips followed by a yoghurt and in a few mins we're off to walk the dogs.

    TTFN!

  • Phew - busy day today. Up quite sharp to Mr T, then housework, haircut, some gardening and more housework - god I lead a sad life:D

Food been a bit up and down - last night went to my sisters to see the kids (two nephews and a niece). Nice evening but her hubby brought curry home for tea - lovely but not good for the diet:eek: Never mind - nice not to cook:rolleyes:

Today has consisted of some toast, iced gems :T , biscuits, beans on toast and now sitting with a glass of wine and some peanuts

Tomorrow is supposed to be very wet so we are planning a quiet day with possibly a trip to look for new internal doors for the house. We are waiting to do the bathroom but can't do that until we have done the upstairs doors.

On another note - for gardeners bothered by slugs can I offer the following: my Aromatherapy book suggests Garlic, Cedarwood, Hyssop, Sassafras or Pine. Add 5 drops of the oil to 600ml of water, boil and leave to cool. Use 2 tablespoons to 4 litres of water in your usual watering method. Not yet tried it myself but my SIL said it seems to work.

    Happy evening all

Sometimes sold as cornmeal, you can buy fine or coarse (not a lot of difference) and you can buy ready made in a block (tastes like plastic!)

In Asda it's with the ethnic foods - River Dunn I think but Sainsbugs and Tescos sell Merchant Gourmet (in a box labelled instant cook polenta I think).

You mix it with water (better with stock) and boil for a few minutes, it looks like yellow mash, I add a few herbs then pour onto a baking tray and let it set. If you do it about as thick as a pizza base then grill or bake for a few minutes before adding the topping it makes an acceptable base, softer but a bit more authentic - it is Italian:D and free food on SW :T
I also serve it with grilled/roasted veg sometimes. It makes a change from the usual couscous, spuds and pasta!

Picnic is made, butties, cheese sticks, crisps (flavours I don't like) and fruit for OH and the grandkids, pasta salad and fruit for me *polishes halo*
    We'll have an ice cream - I've planned a Mayan Magnum:drool: into today's food.

I'm full of paracetamol, my throat is really sore and I still feel a bit rough_pale_ but I'm sure we'll have a good day out.........would be better if this awful wind dropped though!

Tea is to be lentil and sweet potato burgers with grilled aubergines and garlic and herb potatoes and I'm just off for a shower and will have eggs, mushrooms and a potato cake for brekkie.

    See you later folks :A
  • Morning

rockie4 hope you don't feel too bad today and that you have a nice day out. It's tipping down here at the moment - I hope you don't get this weather.

We had a lovely day out yesterday at Kenilworth castle - nice place for a stroll around and the boys run around like mad things with their swords pretending to be knights - wears them out nicely.

Foodwise I did very well. For the picnic lunch I just had one seeded deli roll with "Scheese" dairy-free cream cheese, tomatoes and the first lettuce picked from my little veg patch. Then for tea I had the leftovers from last night's casserole. I did go to a party later on and ate a couple of smallish onion bhajis, but I didn't pig out so I'm quite pleased with myself.

We will probably go swimming today - not much else you can do in the rain, so I'll try to get a few lengths in and maybe do some Aquafit exercises if no-one's looking!

    Have a good day everyone
