Morning all
What a wind and rain! Oh well, I will get a chance to do all the indoors things that need doing. Saying that, if the rain stops briefly, I plan on putting in my potatoes...okay I am really late with these, but better late than never! Talking about being late, I only got around to sowing my sweetcorn, courgette and butternut squash seeds yesterday...hopefully the propagator can help bring them on quickly...mind you, it is not the weather to be growing outside!
We have had our raised beds covered in plastic for a couple of months to warm up the soil, stop weeds growing and prevent the local cat population using them as toilets. Yesterday we took the plastic off so the soil could get a watering (drenching more like!). So today the tatties go in, then the plastic goes back and when the plants break through the soil we cut a hole in the plastic cover to let them grow through. This saves hoeing up the tatties or weeding them . We put some grass clippings to anchor the plastic down between the plants, and stop the tubers on the surface under the plastic going green or getting sunburn (!). This method has worked very well for us over the past 10 years or so...we are still using the same roll of thin black plastic we bought 10 years ago as we can usually use the plastic twice. One season just for covering the soil and the second for tatties/ other veg growing through the plastic.
The rain seems to have eased off, so I will go and get these tatties planted. So much for cleaning out the greenhouse and getting the last of the bubble-wrap off this weekend!!!!
Food for today:
B: HM muesli, soya milk and OJ
s: ? - probably fruit - NOT HM FLAPJACK...must resist, must resist...!
L: White pudding and poached egg (mmmmmmmm!)
s: ? - fruit...Salmon, tatties and veg
s: sugar-free jelly
Have a great day...if you can!

Morning all!
Welcome Sylvia! Course you can do it without spending a fortune at WW... we'll be here to give you support and a kick up the wotsit if necessary, all for free!!:D Good luck.
Had a busy weekend if not very exciting. Went for a walk with a friend on Saturday.... not as far as we'd planned because although it was sunny, we hadn't realised how chilly it was so weren't properly dressed for the occasion. But it was still a walk and much needed exercise! Had an overwhelming urge to blitz the house yesterday:eek: and got loads done, so quite pleased with myself.
Been really good with food since Friday but it's been more of a damage limitation exercise after being a gannet for most of last week. Did the trick though.... toni, STS for me this morning.
Nothing planned for this afternoon, looks like it's going to pour so might just put my feet up and stick a DVD on.
b - wholegrain yog
l - soup... not sure what flavour yet, probably mushroom, and roll
d- salmon and leek fishcake, SW chips and salad
Enjoy the bank hols!0 -
Morning folks_pale_
I'm doing nothing today. OH has gone to work but will be back at half 3 so until he returns I'm going to sit with my feet up!
I had potato cake, mushrooms and poached egg for brekkie, whatever takes my fancy for lunch and quorn sausage mash and veggies for tea.
I think I might make a SW quiche for tomorrow's tea.
MrsM, Taplady - I love jacket with cottage cheese,:D if I go to the canteen at work I always have cottage cheese and beans YUM!
I'd have one for lunch today but that would be 3 lots of spuds and although it's free food on SW I think it's a bit much
Off to veg in front of the telly for a bit now and have another lemsip!

Hi all,
Today will be a very strange day food wise as we have been invited to a barbeque last minute and my usual strategy is to take lots of things that I can eat like salads, cous cous and rice so I don't have to worry. Trouble is we found out after the shops shut yesterday and we have to leave early today as its 2 hours drive away so I don't have time to cook anything or get anything in. They are veggies so hopefully there will be something I can eat. Otherwise it will be a long day!
B: Nothing
L: NothingWhatever is available
Fingers crossed as I delve into the unknown!0 -
STAYED THE SAME THIS WEEK:o
I haven't been brilliant healthwise this week, so mostly in bed with M.E or CFS.
However it does mean that my body is capable of regulating itself... just a pity that I'm 100lb too heavy to begin with!!!

its my favourite meal ATM! am taking the rest of the pot to work for tomorrows lunch too!:D
Yesterday I tried 3 pairs of size 12 trousers from Matalan on, the sizes varied hugely:rolleyes: one being far too big and one rather tight. In the end I bought a pair of linen type summer trousers that were a quite good fit! is it just me or do all shops vary a lot?
Rockie and M.E. -hope you soon feel better . well done M.E. on STS:T and also to droopydrawers too!:T
Got a load of Twinks hobnobs in the oven - will try and not eat too many!:drool:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi guys, hope you're all having a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend
Well finally had some movement on the scales, I'm now 10stone 11lbs, drop of 4lbs. Quite happy with that *grinning* but I have been drinking water til it runs out of me, reducing my salt intake as much as possible, calorie counting and crying on my cross trainer. Plus I had had quite a big jump in my inches lost and so figured I was due a decentish loss.
Oh that means I hit my Marvellous in May challenge which was 4lbs. So happy about that as well.
Big hugs to everyone, I'm off to kiss my cross trainer xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Yes please, not sure if you are aware Sylvia but there is a WW recipe thread here, but if you have any alternatives, please post them here.

Hello everyone - welcome Sylvia and other newbies. Sorry you aren't feeling good ME, but well done on the STS!
Superspam - I know what you mean when you talk about not being able to stop once you start eating junk - I am just the same. I don't have any junk in the house ATM so that is helping I think!
Haven't been on the computer much over the last few days, but have just had a skim through the thread to catch up.
Hope all is well with DS Cheerfulness and Taplady.
Mrs M - that cross stich looks awesome! I am far too impatient for knitting or stitching - I get all irritated because I can't go fast enough and then I make errors and that puts me in a worse mood!
Food over the weekend hasn't been too bad. My friend came for tea on Saturday so I did a spicy pork and chick pea curry which was lovely and I resisted the rice and naans. Yesterday I did a big roast dinner but without roasties or yorkshire puddings - did jersey royals instead. There is loads of lamb and vegetables left over so we will probably have that for tea tonight. Have just had a very small portion of leftover spicy pork from Saturday, followed by a lolly ice (just a fruity one - cheapo from Sainsburys - no Magnums for me ATM!).
I am going for my colon exam on Wednesday morning so tomorrow I have to eat lightly - just jelly and chicken bovril after 12 noon. I am nervous about it - I am not having a full colonoscopy but a sigmoidoscopy which just looks at the lower colon. He said I won't need sedation but I am still scared that it will hurt and of course it is very undignified!
Anyway - hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday - it's very windy here!Jane
