  • Hello everyone - it is quiet on here today isn't it? hopefully it means that everyone is out enjoying the sunshine!

Mrs M - your meals today sound yummy - I'm afraid that I love corned beef too, although I know it is full of nitrates and other nasties...

Taplady - hope you get something nice for your birthday!

I just ordered myself a pair of fitflops online - they should be delivered tomorrow as I paid for next day delivery. I am not sure that I will be able to get on with them as I can't usually wear toeposts but I am going to give them a try because the girl in my hairdressers swears that they have cured her swelling ankle problem (she is overweight like me).

Anyway - hope you are all having a good day!
    Jane

    Hello Peeps,

Well done girls on the tremendous loses, Kate, pebbles and droopydraws :T :j . Hope you are painless soon RS. I remember when DS1 had his arm in a sling, just things like doing up belts and shoe laces were sooo difficult and he was fiercely indepentant, however there was no way he could manage to put his fantastic long blond hair in a ponytail by himself. :rotfl:

Just been to take the 'ancient one' for blood tests at the vets, then back this afternoon for more. Felt so sorry for her that we had a wander on the beach after and met a friend with her GSD. It ended up like a GSD convention with 6 of them all appearing at once. Since her diagnosis and having to have her food and insulin at 7.30 morning and evening, my routine has gone to pot. I can't for the life of me work out why losing the early morning walk has left me feeling so down in the dumps and lifeless. I loved having that walk before brekkie and meeting the same people. Now I tend to use all the little used paths and skulk around in the woods to avoid people with kids. The look of horror as they see me approaching with a couple of GSD's. Think I might go back to walking 'great protector' on his own just to see familiar faces who have no idea why I suddenly disappeared. Problem is there's so much to do here and I could be out for hours just dog walking.

Didn't have any time with DH this weekend as he was working all day Saturday and then at his Mum's all Sunday scaffolding. Munched my way through the weekend. HM strawberry jam butties, raw peas, brazil nuts, fruit and yogurts and an almighty craving for fruitcake Sunday evening. DH suggested we pop to a Spar to get some, wandered out of the room and then could be heard snoring for Britain in bed, bless him. So I settled for a huge bowl of porridge with honey and sultanas. When this happens I get terrified its all going to kick in again and I won't be able to stop. All the good work for nothing and me ballooning again. God it's so depressing. I thought I'd get a good book yesterday while shopping but couldn't believe the miserable collection on the non fiction selves, all child abuse, mass murders and lives of woe. Having just finished Richard Hamond and been so impressed by him and his lovely family I'd hoped for something equally inspiring. Sadly not.
Buck up woman, stop being such a misery!!!!!!!!
On a more cheerful note, the Shaun the sheep backpack has arrived and is now installed in my car. DH took one look and asked "is it possible for a Land Rover to die of embarrassment?" :D Just to confirm he's opinion that I've lost the plot, I saw and bought some great draft excluders on Sunday, or daft excuders as they're now known, one duck, one dog and one frog (Frogga in your honour):rotfl: :rotfl: . Now all DS and I have to do is empty the roof and start laying the extra insulation I bought Saturday, that's going to be a job and a half. Then I can decorate the kitchen after we're finished rampaging over the ceiling. Oh joy, can't wait........not!;)

Have a good day folks and I hope I haven't depressed you. Lovely to see your posts again MRSM, we all missed you.

    Hi all,

Having a super hungry day today which is always hard to cope with :(

B: Bran flakes and a banana with skimmed milk
L: HM veg soup and a yoghurt
D: Not sure yet, OH's choice but we have lots of fresh veggies from the farmers market and tomatoes and cucumber from FIL so whatever it is it will be with a salad or veg :)

S: Skinny latte (small), 2 apples (might eat more fruit later)

Yesterday was a bit of a rollercoaster, I was super-busy so didn't have time to go and wait in line to heat up my soup (might buy my own micro for work), as a result I ended up picking at the Tesco mini-bites of flapjack, rocky road and mini chocolate rolls which made me feel absolutely awful and guilty as sin.
On the flipside, I went swimming last night and did 30 lengths so I hope I have minimised any damage.

    Have a good day all

Jane I love my fit flops, I wear toeposts a lot but they still had to draw blood a couple of times before they are the comfortable extentions to my feet that they are now.
I always walked alot with my gorgeous little mutt, but I really do feel something happening in my buttocks when I wear these
Beanilou- I think it unlikely your feet could expell these shoes, obviously I've not seen your feet but they are quite deep and secure on my feet.
I keep telling them at work with my fitflops working I will be in Kylie hot pants next week- they are terrified:rotfl:

    Afternoon Peeps,

What a nightmare I've had getting on here today! It kept throwing me off!!!

Anyway I'm here now :D Very very busy day today as it's last day of term so I've baked "Thankyou Bread" for all the teachers and assistants and it's also Tadpole 2's Birthday tomorrow so he's got his party after school today.

All the Year 6 children turned up at school in a Limo today so there was alot of excitement there. We have the Leavers Service this afternoon and then his Go Karting party from 4~7  A nice way to end the year for all the class, they'll love it. We're also having takeaway for tea so I don't have to come home and cook. I wasn't allowed to do food at the GoKarting place as they wanted me to pay for their catering ~ £8 per head for carp (burger and chips) so I said it will be a slice of cake only for the kids. Feel a bit tight but no way am I paying that!

Anyway food for the next two days will not be good. There are celebrations today, and then it's Tadpoles birthday tomorrow so we'll have treats then too. I don't care TBH. I've spent YEARS not having birthday food and joining in because I'm on a diet only to stuff myself silly the next day because I was so upset at missing out  I'm just going to enjoy whatever we have and whatever we do and get back into it on Thursday. I'll have 4 clear weeks of being careful then I have visitors at teh end of the summer so I'm gonna have that week off too ;) This is the new me Guys ~ I'm NOT missing out on all those treat days, but on normal days I'll be good :D

    Bee Good everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Today:
B: 1/2 a tortilla wrap, slice of toast with smidgen of peanut butter
    S: satsuma
L: HM carrot and corinader soup, yoghurt
    S: grapes
D: Fish (battered variety, alas) veg and potatoes

Have a lovely evening you all! xx

Hang on...let me just say these first or I'll forget...

There's a recipe for gnocchi on Weezl's 50p til Crimbo thread that is ultra nutricious[sp!] cuz that's all she does over there:p
AND...I saw a flask yesterday that you put into the microwave.....Yep--you heard right! You put the soup/beans/spag etc into the falsk, then the flask into the microwave... supposed to keep food hot for up to 6 hours. Think it was a fiver; plastic; looked a bit like those wide mouth flasks but very chunky handle......might be of some use to those who have to share facilities at w**k. If I remember where I saw it, I'll try to get more info..

I think I'm doing OK; I was wearing a T-shirt yesterday when I wondered where the draft was coming from----it was hanging loose around my arms & hips where once it stuck like a second skin:j I did look at the scales in MrT again today, both the domestic & those supa-doopa machines that tell the whole world-n-his-wife everything including yer inside leg measurment but...nah, I'll keep as I am for now I think.
