Hello peeps,

I'm not after any sympathy or attention, however, I'm not very well just lately, my anxiety and depression has flared up once again, which is a reason I've not visited for sometime.

May I just confirm when weighing myself, when is the best time to do it, although I’m not well, I’m continuing to attend work, as it keeps my motivated, but, I work a shift pattern, so my routine is never them same, I’m confused when to weigh myself.

I'm trying to find simple weight lose recipes, if any one can help, trying to remain focused is part of my problem, as I went of the cycle and started making just any old crap, cheese & potato pie, pasta bake with cheese, baked potaotes, etc, etc, I've actually put weight on.

I'm sorry for such a long post, if you've got this far, thanks for listening, and I hope the above makes sense.

Don't fret so 10past6--we've all been there & done that....wouldn't be here if we'd got it right first time:D For weighing in, is there a particular time when you don't have a shift, perhaps 8pm on a Saturday or summat? I don't think it really matters what time you weigh, so much as trying to do it around that time each week IYSWIM...so for example, 8am on a Sunday morning..just try to weigh yourself around 8 am every Sunday morning, on the same scales & in the same place. I started putting my bathroom scales on the same tile on the kitchen floor,SIZE=1]but don't weigh at all now & use my clothes as my guide

The most important thing is NOT TO STRESS....particularly if you're prone to dark episodes. It's another hurdle that has to be navigated & nothing more, so develop the mindset that you'll just keep trying & you're part way there.HTH

And keep posting if you can..we are all here to help each other OK? x

oooohhhhh where are we all?

How very strange..I hope everyone one is out n about having a good time....

Food today:-
• brekkie -30g meusli with fruit, nuts n seeds oh and a nana
• lunch - a bit of chicken, cauli/broc cheese, and steamed potatoes, carrots, peas, runner/french/borlotti/yellow/blue beans from the garden
• dinner -hmm not sure yet may be poached eggs on seedy taost
• snickysnackysnoos - fruit
Had a quiet day... too wet outside to get in the garden  -so i have been recipe hunting..trying to finalise my meal plans for next month... have loads of yummy things i have found to make... using lots of stuff i have in the house allready :j will post my meals plan for next week later then i can post any recipes if anyone wants them ;)

Hello and welcome back 10past6 :D -Thats NOT a long post -as the queen of "waffle" i should know ;)
I always weigh in first thing in a morning, but if you work shifts -is there any day that you will be in the house at the same time every week? as long as you weigh in at a similar time of the day on the same day every week you will get a more accurate idea of what you are losing.
Im sorry that you are unwell, I know its the last thing you might feel like doing, but hopefully once you start to get back into the swing of eating healthier -you will start to feel a little better.. when im feeling crappy I find that if i can just "make" myself carry on putting together healthier meals it stops me from feeling even worse... heavy, greasy "comfort" foods just make me feel sluggish, heavy and yukky
It might sound loopy but i find that sitting down to a plate full of colours really does make me feel better.. nothing worse than a plate full of beige food... and most beige foods are the ones full of fat and gunk.
If someone else was making all your meals..what sort of things would you choose? only if we have some ideas then im sure between us we can come up with some similar recipes -but requiring much less effort to prepare ;) ... i don't need any encouragement to look through my recipes for ideas for you :p
Now THAT is a long post :rotfl: and still short by my standards:o .. as soon as you let me know what you like and don't like i will see what i can find for you ;)
right i will get off.. hope everyone is having a good day -and keep at it folks -we are getting there:D

Woohooo bigmummaF... you posted whilst i was waffling... glad to see someone else is around lol

• Hello everyone - it crtainly is quiet on here today! 10past6 - I can only echo what bigmummaf and mrsm have said - I suffer with anxiety and depression too, and I know that if I can manage to eat healthily I do feel better. Just keep posting and you will get so much encouragement - I know I do!

Foodwise I am not doing too badly ATM but last night I took the dog out for a walk at about 10.45pm and tripped over and fell really awkwardly - I felt like a right charlie as i couldn't get up because I realised that I had broken my arm and just couldn't manoeuvre myself into the right position to get up! luckily a neighbour came out and helped me back into the house and I rang my friend, who ran me up to the hospital and looked after DD2, who was really upset. Anyway, as I thought my wrist s broken, althouh not too badly, and I am covered in cuts and bruises as I fell into a wall, and I take a tablet for my heart which is an anti-platelet so I bleed and bruise very easily. luckily it is my left wrist so I am not too hampered and can type with my right hand. It might encourage me to walk more too because I can't drive with my arm in a sling! The pain is quite bad though - they gave me painkillers but only for every 6 hours.

I also can't chop or cut stuff so I will have to have simple food for a while. Today I have just had a bowl of cereal and my friend is having us to hers for tea. So hopefully I will lose some weight!

Hope you are all having a good Sunday.

Hi all,

Just finished doing a whole load of batch cooking with stuff I picked up at the farmers market this morning. 8 portions of veg soup, 5 portions of borscht and a whole load of veggies prepped for tonights tea.

B: Nothing
L: Multigrain bread with some wensleydale wheese and HM salsa
D: Roast chicken with cauli, cabbage, carrots, peas and sweet potato

Probably won't have anything else to make up for small over indulgences over the weekend.

Friday I had mint choc chip ice cream and 2 glasses of red wine
Saturday I had crisps and tortilla chips so I need to give it a rest next week.
