Tadpole 1 (my 12 year old) just asked me how today went. I told her all about it.

She said " You'll soon make friends, it's bound to be a bit strange at first but you'll soon settle in. Give it til 1/2 term, then you'll know your way around and everything will feel normal again"

    Spot the parent?;)

It was Really daunting and I feel like I'm gonna be so out of my debth. There is far more to the job than I had anticipated and it all feels very overwhelming. I've just gotta keep remindning myself that I'll soon get the hang of it and that everyone feels like that to begin with.

frogga, I know how you feel, I was in my first job for 11 years and when I started the 2nd one I was thinking what have I done .

Tip: keep a small (discreet) notebook with you and anything important to your job write down. Anything at all. Just write little notes in it all the first week. Then when you start to worry, you can check in there first without having to ask questions all day ;) Everyone will think you are very efficient taking notes and remembering everything :D

Change is scary - but good. It helps you grow and become more confident. Soon you will be looking back on your first day thinking - I can't believe how worried I was ;)

    It'll be fine, I'm sure.

I was so worried when I started my second ever job - a month on, and I wondered why I was so worried. Didn't miss anything except the people from the first job and the people in my second job were really nice anyway, so that soon made up for it :D

In fact, why don't you write down bits from today now - that way you will have a few notes, ready for your first day - might make things a bit easier?

Oh Frogga:rolleyes: What are we going to do with you....
I spent 20years at home with my babies well I had a part time job for the last 7 years. Then I went to work full time and it was a huge change and so daunting but now i love my work. I soon picked up what I needed and a bit extra;) got promoted and pay rises etc. I absolutely loved every minute (well almost) of being at home and would not have done it differently, but life moves on and I love this new stage too and my girls are beautiful intelligent independant ladies who love the fact that I go out/ take scuba diving courses when I'm nearer 50 than 40 and don't visably ;) fuss over then all the time.
Trust me it's a nice time your kids grow and get independant and so will you.

Lovely to see you back Mrsm- hair is good crazy southern rip off prices I imagine:mad:

You're right Sarnie, Thanks. I think I'm sad because I haven't got fed up and decieded to "move on" with life, it's running away from me and it's all hapening far too quickly thankyou very much. However , now that I've made a fool of meself I'll grow up and get over it  Silly Frog :D

Snap :( I hardly go out now cos I know that It'll take weeks for the pain to dull. So frustrating isn't it? I'd love to be able to just take DS to the park or the beach without suffering afterwards and having to miss out on time with him to recover. :(

Hope your legs feel a bit better soon M.E. :grouphug:

    Well done for STS M.E.:T :T & MrsM :T :T
